    Jurors Biased Against Obese Women?

When I look around and see all the children that are obese, it truly makes me sad. These kids are tortured daily by their body size and the added fact that children are just plan cruel. Then when I look at the majority of adults that are obese also, it validates the fact that there are prejudices in our world with different labels. There are 3 ingredients in food that are addicting and that's sugar, fat, and salt... I never realized exactly how big I was before surgery and now I look at myself with different lens. Yes, now there rose colored lens! How do we go about changing the world? My way is sharing about my experiences with others.
  2. Wow, you look awesome and SEXY to boot! Can you share with us how many calories you eat, what you eat, exercise? Are you on my fitness pal? I'm 15 months post op and am curious as to how you worked your plan..... Thanks

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?

I have a go to of nuts, really salty nuts is what I'm craving lately. Oh and the Heat peanuts too. They have sugar in them but not a lot. Mostly protein. Haven't gotten too into the popcorn, I hate when stuff gets stuck in my gums and teeth.... LOL I really love popcorn with a lot of butter. Oh well, I am doing well with keeping the carbs down though. Going further and becoming a food snob! Reading all labels and cutting everything out that has corn products. Only healthy stuff for me. Oh and trying to stay away from the restaurants, their foods are packed with sugars, fats, and salt.... Have to make really healthy choices now. I'm also working on getting more organized and packing my own foods. this is gonna be a chore for me! But I can do this. Look at us now......

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?

You have totally got this escape_pod! You will get to goal really soon. I seem to get off track a lot lately. I know that I hate the feeling of ketosis and have adjusted my diet to a few more healthy carbs like veggies. but this last week I had the darn Flamin Hot Cheetos...... My NUT told me that what we call sliders, know as carbs, go right through our stomachs to our intestines. But getting back on track today. Am taking L-Glutamine that you suggested too.... I do need to lose about 7 lbs but can't get past 144 and my bounces. I know that we can do this. Look where we are today...

4 months out and sleeve seems tighter

Dense protein is solid foods like steak, hamburgers etc. I would 't advise eating dense proteins until your stomach is healed.

4 months out and sleeve seems tighter

I still feel tighter when I eat dense proteins...... Carbs go straight through me to my colon......

    Freaked myself out...

I love eating small portions........ I will continue to eat small portions for the rest of my life to maintain my healthy body. Don't want diabeteses to return. LOL Talk with your surgeon about your past experience and ask them to make sure they give you some medicine to control nauseousness. The surgeon's are quite understanding and don't want you to have pain. I loved my morphine button and pushed it every chance I could. Talking with my surgeon, I had a big smile on my face! Try not to worry so much, it will work out fine, not that much pain actually.

    can't eat

It may be too early to eat poached eggs. My surgeon gave us diets of liquids for the first 3 weeks, then pureed for 3 weeks, soft foods for 3 weeks and then what every my stomach would tolerate. Your stomach is very swollen still from the trauma of the incision site so it's time to be patient and baby the tiny stomach now. Drink a lot of fluids and try getting some protein shakes in. Don't worry about the quanity. Your doing great.....

i've definitely lost some inches :)

This is such a cool feeling. Wait until you put some slacks on in the am that fit you nicely and by the afternoon, they're way tooooooo big....... I loved that...... Oh wait, your going to get a whole new wardrobe of clothes! Yayyyyyyy! I just buy the clothing that I absolutely love, no settling for items I really don't like. This is truly the best NSV!
  15. Interesting how I eat so little and yet gain a few lbs.....Very frustrating.......

    QUESTION

This is your sleeve telling you to take notice where your full level is and stop eating before reaching it. Take smaller portions and enjoy the company your with and watch your excess weight just fall off.....Oh, and then comes the shopping, yep, your going to need new clothes!

    Vareity Not Volume

I love variety......I also eat organic too. My stomach doesn't like those pesticides and preservatives in the food. And god knows what that **** is doing (or has done) to our bodies.

    Low Carb/More Carb weight gain

Very well said Cheri! I agree, everyone's body is different and will react differently. I just seen my bariatric nutritionist last wednesday and they have changed a person's diet intake from 50% carbs, 25% veggies, 25% fruits. Now the have reduced the protein to 25%, starches 25%, veggies 25%, and fruits 25%. I'm not sure I like the change. I still want to keep the carbs rather low and just add some fruit that is healthy in small qualities. If I eat sweets, then I'm searching for sweets and craving them. Since Xmas I have eaten a lot of sugary stuff and now I'm craving it. So I'm detoxing right now. Yep, need to get rid of the craving.....

Can I See Meals/portion Sizes Please?

I find these posts quite interesting. I know that I am in maintenance right now and I eat what I want, I will gain weight. So I pretty much measure things still, still eat off a dessert plate and eat protein and veggies. I miss the times when I could eat hardly anything and be so full. Now I can eat a lot more and am mourning the loss of those times. I know that I'm afraid of gaining my weight back so I know that I have to be careful how much I eat and what I eat. Oh and get more exercise. This is still hard work now at 15 months post opt. So please don't fool yourself and stay focused on high proteins and veggies with a few bites of fruits for the good carbs..... Lots of luck to you all......

GOOD fast food choices ?! :)

I usually do soups from el pollo loco. Anything really soft that has nutritional value.
  21. There is so much contradiction about whether or not we can stretch our sleeve that I have come to the conclusion myself that there is a little stretch with the sleeve and it also depends on the size of the bougie and how much fundus is left attached to the stomach. I for one am going to be a bit conservative on this and work really hard at keeping my food intake down. There is no empirical studies that demonstrate that the sleeve is stretchable. I do keep reading that the fundus is the stretchy part.

    Hunger

I thought head hunger is that your thinking about food and want food, but your not really hungry.....Now I'm confused as to which is correct....

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?

Hey everybody, It is frustrating when we are stuck and having no weight loss. I for one have just got complacent with where I am with my weight. I went to see one of the bariattric weight loss nutritionist and we had a fabulous discussion. She evaluated my fitness pal loggins for about 4 days and said that I need to get more veggies and fruits in to increase my carb intake to about 100 to 110 carbs. I've been in Ketosis probably since having a surgery. She did recommend that I kick up my exercising and that will help with losing a couple of lbs. I want to at least get to 140 lbs. Today I was at my high bounce of 147 lbs. It was helpful talking with my nutritionist. It helped put things back into perspective. It will also help if I scale down the majority of the fats in my diet also. I like to use butter when cooking my eggs.
