How was your 5:2 day today?
Ms skinniness replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I find that I do want to run from the uncomfortable things but when I do stick it out, it has been so rewarding for me. Growth is an everyday experience for me. Especially when it comes to my eating and relationships with others.... I could see myself here with the chocolate....I love chocolate, it is my down fall.....I admire that you can do 2 days back to back fasting....I do find that after a fast day, it is easier to eat less the next day... Yesturday i started to get excited because I was down to my old 144 lbs after a fast day....today I'm back up to 147 lbs... I kept my diet clean eating and under the 1200 calories I typically eat... One of the problems that I have here is that i am not sleeping. My doctor put me on crestor and I realized that it interferes with my sleep and also I was experiencing some bladder spasms. I took myself off the crestor and the bladder spasms stopped but I'm still not sleeping. I don't know what to do to improve my sleep patterns without taking my valium or xanax. i am concerned about the addictive part of this. -

What about calling the surgeon on call. This sounds really serious and painful. Did the hospital send you home with an emergency #? -
I only had a day of liquid diet to clean my intestines out. That was it. The surgery had no complications either.

Mean while increase your water intake as much as possible. It sounds like you make be getting dehydrated too. Dehydration does cause blood to thicken and blood pressure to get lower....So drink up and don't worry about eating too much today. If possible drink some protein shakes and eat soups......Glad you have a doctor's appt tomorrow....if it gets worst take care of you and go to urgent care or the ER.......

I had a new mirena inserted right before my wls and I had and have no trouble with losing or gaining weight. It was a big concern for me but I was having a lot of bleeding due to menopause and after the surgery, I bleed some and then it stopped completely. haven't had any bleeding for the last 18 months... Love it....

Good morning everyone..... Kelly so happy your back, sorry your having hair issues....I hate it when I have issues with my hair, I hate going to my hair stylist and having to sit in the chair for a few hours..... I love her dearly, she has been fantastic with my hair though. Don't know what I'd do without her. I have some weird things happen to me. I had a Mai Tai 2 nights ago and got a little buzzed. The next day my stomach was like an empty leg. So hungry, ate a lot, drank a lot, and my bladder has had a spasm here and there. Geesh I'm falling apart.... I was so confused through out the day and frustrated I gave in an ate 3/4ths a bag of Flamin hot Cheetos.....My stomach was already feeling dry and the spices on the Cheetos was burnin my stomach.....I still felt hungry. So confused by all this.. Driving home from my friends house, it dawned on me. I was having acid in my stomach. Nothing like wanting to smack myself in my frontal lobe to wake myself up. LOL I got home and took an omeprazole and then was still hungry and ate a tamale with salsa..... The kicker here is that I'm down a couple of lbs. I will take this. Now I just need to figure out my bladder situation and I will be good.....today I will take it easy on my stomach. I do have a question for all of you.....Do you have any difficulties with your stomachs after drinking alcoholic beverages? I sure hate to give it up, I don't really drink that often anyways. Today needs to be a clean eating day to get rid the last few lbs. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Ms skinniness replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stopped drinking my shakes and I gained a few lbs. Went back to drinking shakes and today I am back to my normal. I had to cut the carbs, sugars, etc. I am really bad with exercise. I do know that I need to step it up since I really want to lose about 5 more lbs..... Fiddleman has given excellent advice......... -

The sleeve has not failed you....it's what you choose to put in your mouth or your really close to goal and it does go slower the closer to goal you get. Go back to basics and eat Proteins, veggies, and drink lots of Water.....You got this!

Back to shakes?
Ms skinniness replied to #hashTag#'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be getting at least 70gms of protein in and i usually get 100gms of protein. I'm 2 years post op and I still drink Premier chocolate protein shakes from Costco. I would go with protein shakes for a while and see what happens. The way you describe your eating sounds healthy to me. We all have a little treats here and there. No harm in that.....Drink lots of water too, it helps.....Fluctuate your calories on alternate days....this helps fool our metabolism into losing weight. Good job! -
This is why I love my sleeve

It's not hard to get off track. It does get harder the farther out you get. So develop healthy clean eating habits and always be on top of your game. We can do this, it takes making a habit out of it.... -

Don't forget that when your weight loss stalls, your still losing inches. It's your body adjusting to lbs lost and inches lost.... I liked losing inches more bc it was rewarding to buy new clothes and the clothes I really loved... The rest will come off, hang in there and Celebrate the loss you have already. That's an accomplishment... Also you may be retaining Water due to TOM.... -
Back to shakes?

Jenni can you share with us what foods your eating, how much, how often? And don't forget, you have lost 74 lbs and that's more than just a little! CONGRATS on the loss...... Celebrate! -
Back to shakes?
Ms skinniness replied to #hashTag#'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would stop eating all the junk food, drink protein shakes, eat protein foods and veggies and stay away from the sliders (foods that go down easy). Increase your water intake....... You can do this. Work on eating clean because you can gain weight with the sliders. This is the time to take advantage of the honey moon period. Also as a therapist, I highly recommend that you see a therapist that specializes in wls also....you have a lot of hard work a head of you...... -
I work really hard not to get any acid reflux. I hate the feeling of acid in my esophageal. I take omeprazole on a daily basis but forget a lot.

Laura how can you be a sinner....? I don't believe anyone is a sinner unless they do some kind of behavior that is deviant... Kathy I love your LBD at Christmas time! you look so hot in it.....and beautiful... I agree with Kim Kathy, a new profile pic is needed here.... Good morning everyone. Eating normal and clean for the past few days and getting back down closer to 145 lbs each day....I do want it now though, not tomorrow, not the next, but now.......(jumping up and down having a tantrum)....
