Ms skinniness replied to RAAinNH's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! I was 55 when I got sleeved and I wasn't any slower than any one else here. So you most likely have a big surprise coming your way once being sleeve, besides, I don't believe anyone is a slow loser, we just lose at our own pace..... -

Down a mysterious 6 pounds?! I'll take it!
Ms skinniness replied to Kristina J.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I stopped drinking soda, I lost 10 lbs. I was so excited. -
Just a little side note. If you get dehydrated, your blood gets thicker, your blood pressure goes down, and it could cause kidney damage or a stroke. So I am totally obsessed with getting my fluid intake and I also have increased my salt intake too..... It's better to be safe than sorry...

I am so happy your taking care of yourself and not rushing things...... Your tummy will be very thankful...

Time to put that nasty scale in time out! Put the scale in the darkest closest you have.......It's totally bad. Please stop weighing yourself for a few weeks and take a mini vacation from it. It will drive you crazy. The way the weight drops and then stalls is completely normal and the further out you get the slower the weight comes off. So time to work on being grateful for all your accomplishments ups to this point....Yes, you have done a great job! The rest of the weight will fall off in due time but now it's time to enjoy today and not focus on tomorrow..... Eat healthy, protein, protein, and protein, and veggies. Drink a lot of water and celebrate the many little NSV's you've experienced up until today.......You have succeeded!

You may be eating too much or your stomach is not ready for food yet. Call your surgeon and perhaps go back to a liquid diet for a week to give your tummy time to heal. Try drinking broths, sf pudding, sf yogurt, soups, etc. My diet the first 3 weeks was liquids with some sf yogurt, sf jello, sf pudding, and a little bit of a protein shake. Nothing big, After 3 weeks I went to soft foods......Then 3 weeks later pureed foods, then chicken. I had to keep everything I ate moist for a while. You can do this.... Oh and drink as much water as you can get in....or G2 gatorade or crystal lite....

I was taking 8 to 9 vitamins at once at 3 weeks out. No problems......

This is so funny! We all need our coping skills though! LOL

Sleeping position
Ms skinniness replied to jennaleigh1992's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I laid on my right side and learned to crawl into bed using mostly my legs which really helped a lot. I didn't sleep not because I was in pain, but because they had prescribed Loratab which is liquid vicodin and it hyped me up. Finally went in to see urgent care doc and she prescribed tylenol with cod and that did the job..... what a relief.. -
I am so happy I've never been a coffee drinker.... But I was totally addicted to diet coke or diet pepsi. I know that I can never take a sip bc I will be totally addicted to it again. I love not having that device.....

Stretching out sleeve !
Ms skinniness replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A bariatric surgeon from Kaiser South Bay told me the other day that the RnY is used less often these days. I believe that the surgeons that are comfortable using the RnY sometimes push it on their patients. As the surgeon told me, the sleeve is # 1. I love his feedback..... -

Ms skinniness replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Swizzly you are the perfect patient! CONGRATS! I will not be seeing my surgeon again unless I pay cash, but I did see a different bariatric doctor in Southbay kaiser and he told me I've done really well losing my weight and smiled. He also said I didn't have much loose skin...Then he scheduled me to have my gallbladder taken out on 3/11/13 and do exploratory look at mhy left incision site. I have pain there and all he can see is scar tissue....No biggie.... -
....frienfriends are saying i have not been there for them and i focus on myself....:(
Ms skinniness replied to Lisa'slosinit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Friends can be such a pain at times. They are just scared they're losing their best friend. This is a good time to step back and cherish the accomplishments u have made. Maybe let them vent and reassure itself that u have done a courageous job taking care of u. U are a great role model for ur friends. It's just sad they can't express how fearful they are of losing u or u might abandon them. HUGS!
