Keepin it 100
Ms skinniness replied to rmubvashrink's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Proud granny is right. The hunger does come back. Then we have to work on our head hunger issues as well. We learn how to make better choices. I for one have gotten addicted to Quest Protein bars. Then I look at the carbs and I almost died. so I can only eat 1 a few times a week. -

I hope the OP shares more about her journey to her regain. It will help many of us here. I have no judgements. This is a hard journey and we do fall back into old habits of responding to our impulsivity of eating foods that are not healthy for us. I am almost 2 years out and am working on head hunger. I do know that when I eat protein and cut out the carbs, my restrictions get tighter. So I eat mostly proteins and veggies. I avoid sugars bc I was diabetic.

Worried how this will affect my marriage
Ms skinniness replied to Andrea757's topic in The Gals' Room
Your husband is suffering from depression and needs individual therapy too. He may need to see a psychiatrist for some medicine to help with the chemical imbalance in his head. Some people have to look at things and decide if it's a deal breaker or not. Hope you are talking about this with the therapist. -
Hmm I was told by my bariatric doc that we can't stretch our sleeve. I would suggest that you go back to basics of protein. U might look for LilMissDiva's basic Bootcamp in god and nutrition. You can get back on track and lose the 30 lbs.

Why are so many people disappointed when they "only lose" this and that much weight?
Ms skinniness replied to Sweetcarol238's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I love the way u sum this up. In a support group we need people who will confront others to help them get back in track. There are all kinds of people that are either supportive or challenging just like in our communities. It would be more productive if the person confronting dies it in a loving caring way. IMO -

What about protein shakes? I would call them and clarify what types and the portion size. U can do this. -
Gained 3 lbs
Ms skinniness replied to KatieOkieDokie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a pattern for almost all of us. I get on the scale one day and it says I've lost then the next day I weight more. But I lost a lot of weight and inches and wear a size 6 or 8 pants and can wear. A small or medium blouse. Love it. -
Appetite Suppressant, anyone?
Ms skinniness replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are u taking a PPI? Like Prilosec or nexium. Acid un the stomach mimics hunger and can help. I also agree with upping the protein and staying away from carbs. No sugar and work on head hunger. Congrats u are doing awesome. -
Crazy Hungry n not feeling full...? Anyone?
Ms skinniness commented on zempress's blog entry in zempress' Blog
You may want to take a PPI (prilosec, nexium, ect). Salads don't really do anything to me, I don't feel full so I any eat a couple of bites. Besides the dressing is high in calories. Eat protein first to fill up....that's my golden rule always.....it does help...... -
Is it normal to gain?
Ms skinniness replied to Tim H.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a fluctuation in my weight. One day it's at 143 and the next day it could be 147lbs. So frustrating. Your 7 lbs is most likely fluid retention. But to be on the safe side, call your surgeon's office and run it by them. It doe pay off to be proactive. -

Please help in pain and confused
Ms skinniness replied to cookie90270's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have Kaiser and I am able to email my NUT and case worker within the bariatric department. I had a pain in my left side and still get the pain when I get really full. I had an endoscopy and everything was normal. I had my gallbladder removed and everything was normal. There was some scar tissue where they pulled the stomach out on the left incision site. It's not bad, I just have to not eat too much. Sometimes I do get diarrhea, but my diet is mostly protein with a little veggies. I do know that when I eat too much fat I do have difficulties with diarrhea. Go see you PCP and ask for a referral to the bariatric department for follow up. Go back to basics and see if things change. I have been eating basically protein and was doing the basics and it helped me drop about 4 lbs. -
I am so excited today, I am at my lowest weight of 140.8 lbs and even if it's a weight fluctuation, I will take it! love it!

Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
Ms skinniness replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This has been really easy for me. I was well educated about what to expect after the surgery and I don't find it hard to take my vitamin and getting in my protein. Now water is a different story. I do have to work at getting my water in. It is a struggle at first but it does get easier. The sleeve is just a tool, nothing else. I couldn't lose the weight before and keep it off, now today I'm down to my lowest of 140.8. Yahoooooooooooooo! Love my sleeve and for me, it's easy........ -
Just go to your PCP. He/she will help you.......or the ER.....

I have a mirena and it has not effected my weight loss at all..... I don't believe the mirena will affect you, it's just the normal losing cycle we've all gone through..... You will have the 3 week stall and during that time, you will be losing inches.... CONGRATS! Sit back and enjoy your ride now.
