Almost One Week... Is This Normal?
Ms skinniness replied to cbates31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it when you stretch your incision site? Or is it deeper inside? It is best that you contact your surgeon in inquire about pain level. When I did too much, my left incision under always gave me alot of grief. A dull ache that was bothersome. Seldom took pain medication though. Just for piece of mind, I would call (and I have) my surgeon. I thought that I had a hernia which really scared me. But I didn't. I had no complications thank god. Good luck and nurture yourself as much as possible, you deserve it. It gets better. -
Salads do sound really good right now, but I'm too worried and freaked out about my hair loss so I'm trying to eat alot of protein like chicken. I will have to try some salad! Thanks guys......

Everyone has said it just right. You have the tools to get back on track. Even if your sleeve is stretched, it is impossible to stretch to pre op size. Utilize the size you have and eat alot of protein, You will do fine. Merry Christmas. Thanks for sharing. -
Will I Lose My Hair?
Ms skinniness replied to Kristin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2.5 months in and I am losing my hair. It still looks really good, but I am finding alot of hair in the drain after showering and in my comb and hair brush. I know it will grow back and it's due to the stress and trauma of surgery and weight loss. It will be a slow process. It does scare me though... I love my hair. But on a good note, my body is looking better every day....... -
Pain after Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Ms skinniness replied to PreciousCargo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had l headache when I got home from the hospital. The only pain I felt after that was when I did too much and my incision site on the left with the larger incision would get sore. IT was no big deal.......Piece of cake...... -
Nervous/scared About Starting Puree Diet Tomorrow.....
Ms skinniness replied to mchez1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am at my 11 week time and I never did the puree food stage. The thought of it made me gag. I drank protein drinks and ate yogurt, eggs, flaked tuna, salmon, and pudding. Never had any problems since. So happy not to do the puree stage. Remember, it's always best to talk to your doc if your not sure. I had no stomach problems that I know of. -
They can't do the lap band if you don't consent to it. Just keep telling them when your being admitted, tell the doc, tell the anesthiologist, scrub nurse, social worker, everyone you come into contact with. It will be fine, no problems since you will be very proactive with getting the sleeve. Good luck and welcome to our club.....

How Do You "mentally" Get Over The Lack Of...
Ms skinniness replied to lml32937's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On the way home from the mountains, I realized that I can only eat 4.5 bites without getting too full. So I still have alot of adjusting to do by taking less on my plate and not over doing it. I really want to not stretch my stomach. I am changing my thoughts to more of a yay, I don't want anymore. Early on I struggled with getting all my water and stuff. Now I just keep taking drinks whenever I can. You will be fine. Take your time and pamper yourself.....you deserve it...... -
How Has Gastric Sleeve Surgery Changed Your Life
Ms skinniness replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the changes in me. I struggle with realizing what my limits are. I love going out to eat with people and socialize. I am on my 11th week now and I just totally realized that I have been trying to go back to old habits with eating. I've been getting too full, too the point of discomfort because I thought I was hungry. I have been taking prilosec for over a week and my hunger has gotten better. Yesterday I was reflecting back to what a doctor had said in his orientation to bariatric surgery. He said, "after the procedure, it will take you 45 minutes to eat half a sandwhich." Driving home from the mountains, I had eaten 1 bit too many and I felt uncomfortably full. With my surgeron, they push that we need to take 1 bite and wait 10 minutes between each bite. That too me is extremely hard to do. Only achieved it like once. So on the drive home, I divided 45 by 10 and realized that at meals, I can only eat 4.5 to 5 bites of food and that is my limit. This makes it alot easier for me. Over all, I have dropped weight quickly and need to buy a new ward robe of clothes. I still have fears that I can regain the weight and that drives me crazy. I love how I now stand back and realize that if someone is jealous of my weight loss, that's ok because it's about them and not me. I love my new eating and will always just take at the most 5 bites. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. BTW, I had a blood panel done and all the results for lipids, Calcium, and diabetes are normal. This is life altering. -
Do You Order From The Kids Menu?
Ms skinniness replied to Kristin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been ordering off the kids menu now and on one place charges me the adult fee. They don't question, and when it has happened, I share with them the new market for bariatric people. I don't want alot of leftovers because I'm not doing myself any favors by bringing it home. I usually don't eat many leftovers and give the rest to my son or husband and I'm not doing them any favors either. Or I feel quilty when I throw it away. -
I'm so excited for you! Congrats!

Did I Make The Right Choice?
Ms skinniness replied to mommamea's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Get alot of rest. You need it to help with the healing process. My doc's told me to have nothing but liquids for the first 3 weeks which included protein drinks after the first 3 days. Make sure you get your water in or you will get dehydrated. It gets better after the first week. Hang in there, I also questioned right after the surgery if I had done the right thing. Take care and get alot of rest. Good job and your new journey has begun..... -
So Nervous About Gastric Sleeve Surgery!
Ms skinniness replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also nervous. Worked so hard to get here, then wanted to run the am of the surgery. I thought I was going to die. I kept reminding myself that "My thought lie to me." Which is what I teach my clients and hear I am sitting there having to keep reminding myself. I did it anyways and here I am with tremendous weight loss and still breathing. I feel better and better everyday and would make the same decision again. Happy about the new me! -

Why The Concern All Of A Sudden?
Ms skinniness replied to AnewMe@28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday I went to the mall with a friend. This girl thinks she knows everything. She goes out of her way to tell me that the sweater I was wearing needed something underneath and that my bra is too big. Told me I shouldn't loose anymore weight or I'd be too skinny. I am by no means too skinny, I am still 25 lbs over weight. I just know that she is threatened by me in every way that counts and that my weight loss has added to her insecurity. She even went out of her way to tell me the way she eats (totally unhealthy) and that she has even lost 7lbs. Totally amazed with a big smile. her problem not mine.... I'm totally happy......
