When I got to the hospital, I was totally freaking out. i stayed and had the surgery and have no regrets.... especially when i feel better and can get into a smaller size cloths. I'm learning to eat differently now, taking bites slower, using a small saucer plate, and not drinking with my meals. Congrats! Can't wait to hear how your doing.....please keep us up to date. -
I'm still taking my PPI. I know that it takes about 6 weeks typically. I hate the other filling (of being hungry).

Advice: Pros & Cons For Someone Considering Vsg
Ms skinniness replied to OldManDave's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, This surgery is one of the best things that has happened. I would make this choice again. Of course, it is still a struggle, I've only had my sleeve since Oct 4, 2011, but I have lost alot of weight and cloths size and now All my cloths are way too big. Eating has been restricted, it is a huge adjustment, and when I watch my family eat, I think "wow, I use to eat that much, what a waste, no wonder I had such a weight problem." At an orientation the doc stated. "in 45 minutes, you will only eat 1/2 a sanwhich." Well at the surgeon's office, they tell me to take l bite of food every 10 minutes, and that is something I can't do. So I divided 10 minutes by 45 minutes and came up with 4.5 bites. That works perfect for me. I drink Protein shakes to get my protein. I try to think protein, protein, protein. It works out pretty good. I feel great and I'm looking great too. This is awesome........ Keep your head high and just do it. You are a doctor and you know if your medical issues (if you have any) put you at risk. I was diabetic, but that has cleared up as well as my high cholesterol. My LDL is 102 and I'm working on improving that. I eat less than a 1,000 calorie a day which is great. Best wishes -
Medicprincess, Do you take Biotin 5,000mcg or mg? I take biotin 5mg and am thinking I need to take more. thank you

Question #4 - Fatigue
Ms skinniness replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon's office do not get blood work done until the l year mark. However, I did call my PCP and he ordered some blood tests. The test came back with excellent results. The only negative is I'm 102 in LDL and he wants me down to 100 LDL. It was much work about 2.5 months ago. LOL. It is important to take our iron, vitamins, especially B-12 and B complexes. Good luck and best wishes. -
Love to hear you are joining our Loser's Club! This is truly an honor. Keep your chin up and keep walking forward. Three weeks will be gone before you know it! We have alot of wonderful people giving feedback and I feel lucky to have them. After the surgery I felt somewhat abnormal but after reading topics and feed back, I let the feelings of abnormal go and am embracing the new me. Even though I'm still the old me, I'm letting go of the stigmatism that society has given us. What is normal? It's me and every one else. Merry Christmas!

5 Days Post Hard Finishing A 16 Oz Bottle Water Help
Ms skinniness replied to Jkmorris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have difficulty getting water down. I drink low calorie gatorade, water, light cranberry juice, protein drinks, and hot original tea, decaf. Gatorade has a tendency to bother my stomach. Water also bothers my stomach. I just keep on drinking. -
That's really scary (to fall). Hoping everything goes well. I think it's the best option to go in and have the site checked. Good Luck!

Christmas Dinner, Christmas Snacks, Christmas Cookies
Ms skinniness replied to wondering1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, This is a free day, I have had chocolate candy with peanuts, more candy, bread, and I'm feeling really guilty about it. I will be doing a protein shake day tomorrow, but will finish tonight with dinner with my family. I didn't realize how easy it is to sabotage my diet. I have continuously lost weight since oct 4. I have a fear that I will gain my weight back. This saddens me . -
