Please Help! Im A Little Worried.
Ms skinniness replied to blackanese25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember, there are many benefits from this procedure. We loose weight, and yes, we do retain Water. That will add some weight but I'd rather retain water than get dehydrated. Our physical health is also getting better. We have less cholesterol, blood sugar is within normal range hopefully and most of us are taking our Vitamins on a daily basis now. We are more mindful of what we put in our mouths, and yes, we do cheat but that's ok. We just get back on track. Life is getting so much better now. Yes I hate have to buy new cloths just to have to turn around and buy smaller size cloths later. I'm not complaining, I love it, it's just cost $$$$$. I love my new smaller body. If you have a weight gain, it's a stall and your retaining water. I was drinking gatorade and that has a high sodium content which contributed to retaining water. LOL Hang in there and enjoy the new eating habits we are developing. -
Wow, now that's romantic! I actually teared up reading this...... CONGRATS! thank you for sharing with us. you have a great man there.

Congrats! I had surgery on Oct 4. It was difficult to get my protein and fluids in. Today I struggle with distinguishing thirst from hunger. So I will focus on fluids and then have protein. I am in a little bit of a stall. I eat anything I want too but feel guilty when I eat something that's high in carbs. I also only allow myself a tiny bit of bread, rice, or pastas. I know that these foods expand when in my stomach. Sorry, I got a little off topic.

I love to go out to dinner with my family or friends. Now I'm realizing that even though my mind is telling me how delicious the food tastes, my reality check is when I take a bite, it doesn't taste anywhere the way I imagined it would take. I have decided that I will be eating out less often, and staying focused on protein, protein, and protein with a little carbs. cleaning all the junk from the holidays out of my house today! Can't wait to get started. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Abdominal & Chest Pain
Ms skinniness replied to MsLadyKanKan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It makes me that you have all this pain and the docs can't find anything. I agree with mememeee that it's time to be proactive to even demanding. This is your health and the docs can consult with bariatric docs via telephone, they just need to get your informed consent. Hoping you heal fast. Please let us know how your doing. -

You Can Gain Weight With The Sleeve
Ms skinniness replied to MINI-Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Keep staying focused,go back to basics and jump start your weight loss. Your baby boy will work it off you. Eat protein first, use a small plate, drink lots of water and exercise. You know what works for you. You can't eat sweets, breads, etc. Get down to business! -
I'm always cold but I have down comforters. I get hot periodically and have to uncover for a few minutes. My family is totally shocked, I normally freeze them out. Hahaha lol

Popcorn After Gastric Sleeve Surgery....
Ms skinniness replied to illgeturhairdid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Popcorn sounds really good right now. I tried my daughter's cheddar cheese popcorn and it was really good..... LOL -
What about your parents? Can they meet you at the ER? What about the children's dad? This is something that shouldn't wait until tomorrow. You might have to take the kids with you. I hope you go to the ER.

You have very good insight! I find myself doing the same thing. I order food at restaurants and then can only eat a few bites. I do this when I am really hungry and feeling deprived in some way. I found my left overs going to my husband and it's not doing him any favors. Instead, I try to eat on a schedule now, not get too hungry so that my monster doesn't get loose. Sometimes I see myself loosing and then my head goes to a place where it sabotages my success. I have to be kind to myself and remind myself that I'm ok and that I am looking really good. I don't need to beat myself up because it doesn't help, it just makes me really sad. I plan on taking a couple of bites and making better choices. We are all learning to do that....

Ready To Begin My New Life!
Ms skinniness replied to Marnie85253's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! This is the best procedure I have ever had. I love the results. Before surgery I was always hungry. After surgery I was hungry from waking up in my room. Around the 6 week mark I found out that I wasn't feeling hunger, it was acid in the stomach. Now I'm struggling with the "is it thrist, or am i hungry?" dilemma. Anyways, I love it. Best of luck and welcome to the Big Loser's Club. -

This May Sound Repetitive, But....
Ms skinniness replied to happy1957's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember going to the ER bc I thought I had a blood clot, but didn't. I was about 5 or 6 weeks out and the ER doc looked at me and said, "you have alot of gas." There might be a leak. This was his non knowledge of weight loss procedure, and he did get in touch with a doc in Kaiser's facility that told him this is normal. This is before I learned about PPI's and acid making me feel hungry. My surgeon's office neglected to tell about PPI for stomach acid. I learned that from our site here. Love everyone here. Thank you everyone. Happy New Year! -
Happy New Year All!
Ms skinniness replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad you are targeting getting back on track. I know after awhile I will get tired for protein drinks, but it is a quick meal and does provide the protein I need to sustain my new body. Plus it helps in hair growth and nails. I did get off track on xmas and up to new years eve, but today, i'm on track. Happy New Year keep up the weight loss. -
Hubby Is Being Rude....your Opinion Please
Ms skinniness replied to Lisa821's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your husband feel threatened by your weight loss and is totally scared of the shift in the status quo. You are taking care of yourself and looking better everyday. He is struggling with his weight and has difficulty taking responsibility for his over eating. Who wants to look in the mirror and own his/her responsibility. If I were you, I would share with you hubby how hurtful his comments were to you. Use I language like: When you said this, I felt___________. Please help me by being more supportive and I want to be more supportive too you. Happy New Year! Hope this helps. HUGS TO BOTH YOU AND YOUR HUBBY! You are a survivor as we all are. -
No Weight Lost Since Dec. 27 Sleeve -- A Little Concerned
Ms skinniness replied to CCWriter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If you were taking and diuretic and have stopped, then of course your body is retaining water. This might be a good thing considering the decrease in water intake after surgery due to stomach swelling. Be patience and good things will happen to you, like weight melting away! It will happen, this is the BIG LOSER'S club. Happy New Year! the new you is about to jump out! -
4th Day Post--op And Can't Get Enough Water
Ms skinniness replied to melissa45154's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are really concerned (I would, bc diarrhea causes dehydration), I would call your doc's office and the doc covering for the holiday can talk to you. Dehydration is a real serious matter. Take care of yourself, you deserve it. Happy New Year!
