I Honestly Am Scared...
Ms skinniness replied to meggspeggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Lissa. Try the 5 day pouch test and lilMissDiva's basic boot camp. It will give you a jump start. If you did stretch your stomach, it's very minimal. Use it to your best advantage. -

Afraid Of Over Eating..
Ms skinniness commented on Soon to be me's blog entry in Soon to be me's Blog
I have been afraid of stretching my stomach also. I know that it is possible because a friend of mine has RnY and she has stretched her pouch. At my surgeon's office the PA told me that there are some people trying to get their staple line moved but struggle with their insurance companies. So I try to just be really careful with my foods. -

Stalls Are No Big Deal So Why Complain?
Ms skinniness replied to royboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sometimes we just need to vent and talk about our fears. I know that being in a stall makes us feel like we have failed in yet another diet. That is our emotional self talking, our cognition knows that we are in a stall and that we will continue to lose. Writing about it takes away some of the frustration. I was thinking that I didn't weight my self for the first 5-6 weeks and so I didn't know if i was in a stall or not. Now I weight myself everyday and I'm fluctuating. So I have decided to put the scale away and only weight 1 time per week. Eat healthy and exercise daily. That is all I can do. Have a wonderful day..... -

Ms skinniness replied to yecats's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. There should be no hurry. You will find the most beautiful dress when the time comes. With weight loss and inches, you have no idea in what to look for. Trust us, when the time comes to buy the dress, it will be the most beautiful dress for you and it will fit wonderfully. Wait to buy the dress. -

First Trip Since My Surgery And What To Eat?
Ms skinniness replied to andersonlj's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Humm, Mexican sounds really good. I couldn't have done it at 5 weeks. I have a hard time handling saying no to the chips and salsa. I am totally addicted to that. Good luck and hope you have tons of fun. -
This is eating too fast and eating a bite toooooo many. Slow down and try not to take an extra bite. Your be happier in the long run.

Fgf: What Are You Doing Today To Get To Your Goal?
Ms skinniness replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
today, I'm sticking to eating high proteins, increase my water intake and get some exercise in. Miss Diva, can you really drink a gallon of h2o? I can hardly get in 3/4ths of my water. How do you do it? I admire all your accomplishments. You look great. And Pdx, How do you get in your h2o intake? Really want to know. Thanks -
Im Feeling So Disappointed...
Ms skinniness commented on Soon to be me's blog entry in Soon to be me's Blog
It sounds like you are in a stall. This will pass, but I do have to agree with everyone else! You will notice a big difference in a couple of months. Have you measured yourself? Sometimes when in a stall, your body is readjusting and inches are coming off. Relax, continue on with healing. -
Everyone's different. Have you talked to your NUT about it, or your surgeon? My NUT saids that 3 months post op, I should be eating 2oz of protein, 1/4 c of starch, 1/4c fruit, and 1/4c vegetables. That is alot of food to me, and I can't eat that much. So I called my surgeon's office and they said to eat 800 to 1200 calories. This is alot more simpler.

How Long Pain After Eating?

I still have some pain when I eat something with sugar! I like it though, it's a quick reminder that I don't want to eat sugary things anyways. LOL -

Hi lately I have been in a stall and I decided to do a little search on the internet about starvation mode from not enough calorie. Instead of finding a calorie number, I learned that we don't go into starvation mode unless we are 6% body fat (women) or 5% body fat 9 (men). I was worried about the possibility of loosing muscle due to not enough calories. Has this bothered anyone else?

When I got home from the hospital, all i seen on tv were advertisements for pizza or some other fast food place. I had to challenge the message in my head and change it to: If I did this surgery, then I don't need that stuff. It was helpful I taught myself to tune out when there's a commerical. That is totally helpful. :aureola:

Looks Like We Lost Some Data
Ms skinniness replied to PdxMan's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Here is lilmissdiva's basic boot camp: I get lots of questions regarding how to get back on track. This journey is tough, and one thing I've learned is that I'm not perfect - but if I'm going to move past that I have to figure out how to forgive myself. For me, the main factor in my obesity was my inability to overcome this. So I would give up and gain all my weight back, and even more. I cannot do this to myself!!! I have to pick myself back up and keep it moving. I didn't go through 2 torturous painful weight loss surgeries to just keep giving up. Heck no!!! So, along my Sleeve Journey, when I noticed I wasn't doing well and needed to get back on track this is what I did: The BASICS BOOTCAMP: For 5 STRICT DAYS I will eat only... Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry and eggs, Dairies, nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter. Veggies: Green only. Fruits: None. Breads/Cereals/Other Carbs: None. Fluids: One gallon of Water (128 oz.) or Protein drinks. Avoid: Sugar and Sodium Once the 5 days are over, I am pretty much over the Sugar Carb Demon. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate carbs! I do need them to live a healthy life and since I workout a lot it is important I have them. However, I need GOOD carbs. Whole grains, fruits, veggies... But I don't need processed sugars. White carbs, in cereals, breads, rice... etc. Lots will do the 5 day pouch test. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/ Great! To each their own. I personally do not do this. My first reason is because I don't have a pouch. I have a sleeve. The second reason is because for me, this has proven nothing but torture for me. I don't feel like I should have to do that. My personal program works just as good without that side effect. The only reasons I've ever done liquids only is simply from being threatened with my life (post op) or if I'm just feeling sick and to let my Sleevie rest. That's it. Good luck everyone! This journey is tough, but nothing worth doing is ever easy. Xoxo
