Hating The Greek Yogurt Any Other Suggestions? Your Favorites?
Ms skinniness replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Greek Yougurt is great in protein. I just buy the Yoplait light and add some unflavored protein powder to it. It tastes really good and has high protein. -
Owwwwwwww! I love that you did the research. This is very informative and gives a good guideline for individuals with bariatric surgeries. It' important that we are proactive in are care, because once we leave the hospital, the doc doesn't know what's going on unless we relay the info to them. My PCP told me that if there are no problems within the first 3 months, then it is presumed that the problem is not related to the surgery. I believe that if I have a leak in my stapleline, then it is totally related to the surgery. So, it is really important to be aware of what's going on in our bodies. If we have a pain, then that's our body telling us that somethings wrong. Listen to your body and if you have a shoulder pain, be proactive and call your doc. Best doc to call is the surgeon since our PCP's do not specialize in bariatric surgeries. Also remember that the people in the study were a small number. We deal with it when it happens, but otherwise, don't worry about it, just be informed.

1 Day Post Op And Some Observations
Ms skinniness replied to OilSooner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! Right after surgery I was so hungry but couldn't have anything orally. I was really thirsty, wanting water. I remember thinking: "WTH, I'm not suppost to be hungry." I then pushed the morphine pump. Needed to just sleep. Got home 3rd day and couldn't sleep at all. Welcome to the LOSER's CLUB! Rock that sleeve! -
If you don't feel comfortable with him, then you should absolutely look for a new therapist. What I would do if I was looking for a therapist is call them up and interview them over the phone. Call at least 3 of them, and ask they if they have any experience with wls and if they don't, are they winning to do some researh on the GST. If they are, that's great, but it's really not about the surgery, it's about what's going on inside you that triggers you to eat. Mostly any therapist that you feel comfortable with and is willing to go the extra mile is worth giving a shot.

That is his take. I am a shrink and I would have told you that wls is a tool that can help you make life changing decision's about healthy eating and making healthier eating choices. I would also discuss with you how triggers can affect your eating. Your moods, and of course not all this in the first session. Shrinks can help you on your new journey. Good luck and this is a great choice to help. CONGRATS!

I have changed to many close sizes. I am down to a size 8 pant and a medium top, which is headed for a size smaller. I love but hate to have to get new cloths, it is costly. But worth it, I love looking sexy and cute now.

Anyone Ever Lost Friends After Knowing You Were Getting The Surgery?
Ms skinniness replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
ngory: I'm so sorry you have to put up with your sisters childish behavior. No matter what you, it's not good enough. She has issues with control and can't stand it when she's not in control. Give yourself a big hug and smile, because you are a healthy loser! -
Please don't poo poo the exercise. The exercise will help firm you and assist your bone structure. I didn't really exercise like I was suppose too and now regret it. I could of walked for 30 minutes on a daily basis but talked myself out of it. Now I have hired a trainer and am doing core exercises and starte walking every day. I love it, i have alot more energy now and hope it will help me lose more weight. Or just stop the jiggles. LOL

If your doing the Wii exercise then just do what you can and work up to it. Don't worry about what the tape is saying, you know your doing your best. Give yourself a pat on the back when you finish the games. I watched my son and his girlfriend which are 29 years old and 22 years old and they both couldn't keep up with it. It just takes time a practice. I will be starting that tomorrow.

4 Weeks Post Op - Should I Be Able To Eat This Much?
Ms skinniness replied to LoserMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3.5 months post op and I can eat about 2 oz of meat, little baked potato, veggies. I make sure that I don't put too much on my plate. I'd rather under eat than eat too much. I eat approximately 4.5 oz of food. My doc's office told me to eat slow and chew, chew, chew, and chew. -
I Hate The Way It Feels When I Eat. Does It Get Better?
Ms skinniness replied to CoffeeAndMagazines's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you mean a 32 Bouchee? That is the size of measurement they use as a guide to where to place the staple line. I have a 34 bouchee and I had to ask the PA what size they used. If you go to youtube.com, you can see Dr. Alvarez giving a demonstration on the size of the stomach. It is really informative. He also talks about the sleeve procedure also. I learned alot from him. Hope this helps. -

Left Shoulder Pain
Ms skinniness replied to Jeanie Sleevy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it time for a second opinion? Probably would have difficulty finding someone though. If it gets worse then I'd go to your PCP to have it ruled out. Remember, you are # 1 and need a advocate for yourself. Hope you get better really soon. -
