A Litte Discouraged...
Ms skinniness replied to alexeleni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gosh, I just spoke to a friend that had an RnY one month before me. SHe saids that weight loss is going slow too. But she is losing. She doesn't weigh herself on a daily basis. I know that I have been going through the same thing of weighing may self daily and becoming obsessed with it. Now I have the opinion of just putting the stupid scale away for awhile and not worry about it. I like losing the inches anyways, but I'm not constantly measuring myself either. So, Let's get rid of the scale, eat by the rules of the sleeve, and have many happy days. Let's not worry about being in stalls. This is all normal for our bodies and yes, the weight will come off. Just eat right and exercise. Mix it up! Keep our bodies quessing. I was much happy in the beginning when I didn't weigh myself. We are all doing great! :wink1: -
I started a personal trainer 4 weeks ago and we are working on core strength. We have been adding weights into the mix. And I have been walking and doing some recumbant bike. I need to really step up my building more muscle so I can burn fat quicker.

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
Ms skinniness replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey SouthernSleever, it's time to dump the coke, and throw away those wonderful tasting cupcakes before they go on your hips or belly. I know I have to throw away the chips my hubby brought home and hasn't eaten as well as the other junk here today. It is too tempting otherwise. So I have started loving to throw away food now. If i even look at it, I gain weight. LOL. Ok let's do it everyone, let's get on track and follow the sleeve rules of protein, veggie, etc etc. -
Congrats! You are now sleeved. It sucks to be nauseous and feel hungry all the time. Have you talked to your sureon's office about this. Alot of individuals with bariatric surgery have alot of acid production in their stomach. It is beneficial to take something like a PPI (prilosec etc) with your surgeon's approval. Hope this helps!

Tingling In Back And Minor Short Term Memory Problems?
Ms skinniness replied to emily_0192010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi. i don't know too much about the tingling sensation. But I do know that when we cut down our carbs significantly we can go into ketosis. One of the side effects could be difficulty with memory recall. I know that when I was doing the 5 day boot camp, I had the same difficulty that you are describing. So I needed to increase my carbs and memory recall went back to normal. I love the weight drop when I do decrease my carbs substanially. Best thing would be to call your surgeon's office tomorrow and explain about the tingling and memory recall. -

Congrats! It does get easier.... I promise you... Welcome to the big losers club!

I waited for about 2 months because I didn't want my jeans to rub my incision sites. They were healed but somewhat sensitive. My bad was, I completely shrank and the jeans I had were way too big when I finally decided. ;( So I went out and bought some Levi's and quickly shrank and they became toooooo big also. Decided to buy a belt and hold off before buying any more jeans. I do love losing weight though......

Last Meal...lol.
Ms skinniness replied to BenisaMartim4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You can eat about 2 oz of the steak, a couple small bites of the veggies, and maybe 1 bite of dessert. Not bad. You could get around 4 meals out of last night's dinner. -
Dropped 5 Lbs Overnight! Thank You Lilmissdiva And Pdxman!
Ms skinniness posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
OMG, I have dropped 5 lbs over night after a very long stall. Thank you LilMissDiva for sharing you basis bootcamp with all of us. It has really worked to trigger my body out of a stall. I have learned so much from your feedback on this site and it has helped me tremendously. Pdxman: thank you for all the feedback that you have also given. It helped me to see that that it is extremely important to mix things up so that our bodies don't get complacent (in which mine has). I now understand about calories and our BMR and am going to have mine tested just to see where my BMR sits and also kicking up the exercise. YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! Thanks to both of you! You guys have worked so hard to get where you are and are still here on this site to help us with our daily struggles, no matter how big or small they are! -
Do You Really Believe This Is Going To Work?
Ms skinniness replied to Teri L's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well said LilMissDiva! We are in charge of our destiny. We can sit and wallow in our old negative messages we bought from other people's messages about who we our, or we can take charge, and plow onward into new exciting territory. We are already successes in our lives by choosing to help ourselves by having this beautiful tool added to our tool box to finally, and I mean finally, lose our unwanted lbs. It might take us just a couple of months, it might take us 6 months, it might take 12 to 18 months. But we will always have our tools to help. I love my sleeve and will always follow the rules of the sleeve. There are moments where I think that I have reached my maxium weight loss because my scale has stopped moving. Instead the inches were coming off instead. Now I don't care what the scale saids, I just want my body to continue adjusting in inches and clothes sizes. It has taken me along time (6 weeks) to experience a long stall and that didn't mean that I was a failure. I went down from a 13 jeans to a size 10 jeans and a size 8 in slacks. Ummmmm, that is what I've been working towards anyways. Yes, I can be my own worst enemy! I am chosing to be my best supporter now and to keep moving forward. Don't let your negative thoughts influence who you our. The negative thoughts are from the past diets that failed you, but they were really stupid diets that no one could continue on for a life time anyways. The sleeve is life time! Eat less. Be happy. Be thankful for what we have. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! :girl_hug:    -
11 Days Post Op And Regretting Decision.
Ms skinniness replied to Chrissy Rios's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey there, I wouldn't worry about it happening. If it happens, then just deal with it. If you worry about it, your creating anxiety for yourself when it's not necessary. You might not even have that problem. This beautiful sleeve that we chose to have is the most awesome tool to help us with our disease of over eating. Sit back and watch the lbs just melt away, get all your fluids and Protein is always first! Protein is a key component that helps our cells in our body heal. You are doing great right now and visualize in your mind the lbs just melting right off! It will happen! You will feel better really soon! I promise! -
Everything I Eat
Ms skinniness replied to PreciousCargo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Having this procedure is the hardest thing any of us have done. It does restrict our eating and it can feel like it's stuck in the beginning. It does get better and easier as time goes on. I am almost 4 months out and haven't experienced the stuck feeling since around 2 months post op. I have found myself getting discouraged because I like to go out to eat at restaurants and when I see my food, and I'm really hungry, I want to eat all of it! It's that stupid rule of eating everything on my plate! I take about 5 bites and it's like stop! My stomach is full and I can fill it. BahhhhHumbug.... Ow well, I try to remind myself that I don't need all that food anyways. Then I look at how beautiful the sleeve has helped me to shed all those unwanted lbs. What a great job my sleeve has done and is continuing to work for me. YAYYYYYY! Please remember, this is well worth the frustration of it all. Congrats! This is the hardest thing you will ever do! But you will be well compensated for it by increased life span, good health, and a fantastic looking body! Keep ROCKIN that SLEEVE! :boxing_smiley: -
Post-Surgical Diet: Torture.
Ms skinniness replied to Writergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
call your doctor's office and get some help. In the liquid stage, I was drinking soup broth, jello, pudding, and yogurt. Drank protein drinks from costco called premier chocolate shakes. Hang in there, it gets better. -
i was always hungry for the first 6 weeks post op then after readin the postings here, I talked to my surgeon's office about taking a PPI (prevacid). That helped with my hunger. Also worked at increasing fluid intake. Hope this helps.

I Can't Drink Crystal Light Anymore
Ms skinniness commented on Smilecharmer's blog entry in Smilecharmer's Blog
i have been drinking diluted low calorie gatorade. I have a little discomfort when I drink just plain water. I tried the crystal light in water and didn't like it much. Still have some left, I will try it again soon. -
