If your doing fine, then continue on with caution. Just make sure you under eat your sleeve. Your sleeve is still healing and you don't want to risk getting a leak. I would incorporate more soups that are low fat into your diet just to be careful. Congrats!

Exercise! Airline Tickets!
Ms skinniness replied to Paola's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! Feb 21 is a great day! It's my birthday...hehehe. My doctor told us that we could walk after surgery but couldn't lift anything over 10lbs or do any vigorous exercise for 2 months. Then I was released to do vigorous exercises. Congrats on your trip, it is exciting to go home and visit family and friends, but we do miss the people we leave behind. Enjoy your new journey, you deserve it! Be happy and show off the new you. CONGRATS! -
Weight Loss Stall -- Need Help
Ms skinniness replied to Coco Kitty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that your struggling with eating healthy lean proteins and stuff. I like that your going to go back to basics of a liquid diet and progress through the steps. I would keep all the carbs very low so that your body will start to burn fat. Make sure you are exercising because you want to burn fat not muscle. Your body needs a rest right now. I'm having the same problem with not losing. I lost 7 lbs and then gained it back in a couple of days without much change in diet except I added a little more carb. So I bought a book called "The Metabolism Miracle." It makes alot of sense and so I am giving that a try. Part l of this diet is a low carb diet where we let our pancreas rest where it doesn't have to put out insulin when i eat sugar. I will let everyone know how this works. It might be a stall your having, but maybe you body is loosing in inches. That's even better. -
You say your afraid to eat lunch? or this any meal? Think in basic terms and keep it simple. If you forget your lunch, can you buy some lean lunch meats and cheese? Do you have a refrigerator at your school site for employees where you can keep some extra protein for your lunches? Sorry about all the questions. My premise is to always keep it simple. I have stuff at my office that I can munch on that's really healthy. I also have protein drinks available to.

I had some itching around my incision sites also. But it went away quickly. I have diffiiculties with my scalp. It itches like crazy after I have it dyied. I had so much gray I couldn't wait any longer. My hair dresser told me to use Nioxin because it has alot of vitamins and stuff. But it still itches. I'm still losing alot of hair, but new hair is also coming in.

Protein Source/type Controversy - Premier?
Ms skinniness replied to LoserMama's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Alot of people think they know everything. Well guess what? They don't know. Every source I have heard talks very highly of Premier High Protein Drinks. It comes highly recommended by numerous dieticians and bariatric centers. I love it and will not stop drinking it. I do have other protein like NuTek pro5 and isolate. I am learning to cook yummy pumpkin banana high protein bread with the isolate creamy vanilla and boy is it good. I like to just grab the premier in the am and just drink it without mixing it. If you find anything negative about it please keep us posted. Basically, I wouldn't worry about it too much. -

I have no regrets! I do remember having a regret laying in the hospital bed the same day. It was a fleeing thought! I just pushed the morphine button and went to sleep. Hated it when they made me walk after pushing the button. LOL -

When Is Your Stomach Done "expanding" Post-Surgery? I Feel Like I'm Eating Virtually Half Of What I Used To!
Ms skinniness replied to sirensiren's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is a good question. I have lost weight about 1 week ago after doing the basic boot camp. But then gained it all back. Sometimes I wonder if this is my stopping point. So now I'm mixing it up. I'm reading a book called the metabolism miracle and am going to start an 8 week diet with low carb. Then today, I realize that my birthday is the 21st of this month and if I ate anything with more than 5 carbs my pancreas will kick in with way too much insulin and I will have to start over. Bah humbug.......... -
Need Some Advice - Don't Know What To Do Or Say..
Ms skinniness replied to LovingHusband1979's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Loving bundle. I hear you when u say your afraid of losing her. You love your wife as she is. I get that. Are you afraid of losing her if she gets thin and is absolutely stunning? You have stated "I have given her everything she needs, I guit a high paying job in the oil fields to be with her." My husband was someone also who loved me as I was (fat). But he also trusted me in my decision to ha e this procedure. This has made our love for each other grow even deeper My decision for this procedure was a out me not him. If he wouldn't ha e been supportive. Then it would have put a big strain on our relationship. He loves me even more that I have lost weight and sometimes he does feel threaten. But we work through it. Your wife loves you and is with you because she loves you. Please give her this gift with love and you will reap all the positive benefits possible. I believe that "God" has given us these tools for a reason and so why not use them. People on this forum have alot of passion on this topic and have given their. View. We have worked very hard to get here. What I would do if I was you is seek counseling with a therapist that specializes with bariatric surgery. Also talk with her PCP for a referral for a complete physical and imaging of her heart valves. If she is healthy in that respect. She should be ok for this surgery. Go to YouTube and look at Dr Alvarez educational clips on this procedure. Best wishes -

Basic Boot Camp And Extending For 8 Weeks
Ms skinniness replied to Ms skinniness's topic in Food and Nutrition
I would love too. I really want to get this done! -
Hey, today is feb 1, 2012 and I am starting my basic bootcamp kickoff with an extension of 8 weeks compared to 4 weeks. I want to give my pancreas and liver a break so it doesn't have to work at spiking my blood sugar levels. I will be following a plan that gives us protein, fat and neutral veggies. Also I will allow myself 5 carbs every 5 hours. This is a diet from a Registered Dietician and she talks about the Metabolism Miracle. I know that my metabolism has slowed up alot and every time I eat carbs, I gain weight. So this is what I will be trying.
