Why Do People Not Get Excited!
Ms skinniness replied to starsleeve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
brandimare you are right on! I want to be happy for me, so I am. I share my surgery info with everyone in hopes of advocating for a healthier new life. I have a new life. I am so happy with my sleeve. I wish I would have done it 10 years ago. All that wasted time. I was asking my PCP for it. Now I have it and I'm Rockin! -
2 Weeks Out And Not Loosing
Ms skinniness replied to Smithagkv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please stop weighing yourself every day. It will drive you crazy. I am a victim of the scale. In the beginning, I didn't bother weighing myself and was very happy . Then I decided I wanted to see how many pounds I would loose over night. That's when I noticed that I was in a stall. I have a hard time staying away from the scale now. I am trying to not weigh myself until Valentine's day which is next week. Eat alot of protein, drink alot of water, and just focus on enjoying today. You will do fine with your weight loss! Trust me. You will lose it. -

I Cant Belive Im Hungry.....
Ms skinniness replied to strgazr's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Are you taking a PPI (prilosec, omeprazole, nexium)? u may be having acid in your stomach that is causing you to feel hungry. I had the same problem until people on this site told me and I took some, and low and behold, my hunger went away. Some of it may be head hunger. I try to get alot of protein via shakes other protein sources. I try to get at least 90 to 100gms. then i do veggies. Also drink alot of water......... -
Long Term Effect-Gastric Sleeve
Ms skinniness replied to jewels1227's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I love my sleeve! I am so happy I didn't choose the lapband. This is an individual choice that we all make. I watched my neighbor who had a band 3 years ago go through the process and she still looks like she hasn't lost much weight. in a quick period of time. She saids she loves her band. To eachs own. -

Lunch Out With All My Coworkers
Ms skinniness replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask yourself, what was I embarrassed about? The surgery was your business and not theirs. Just wait, in a few weeks, you are going to have lost so much weight that your co workers will be wagging their tongues. I hope you let go of the embarrassment. It is a waste of your time. This is a time to rejoice and celebrate the new you! You will teaching them how to eat also... LOL. The surgery is a tool, now the mental part that is your thoughts belongs to you. We all have choices. You can chose to focus on others, or you can smile and show everyone how happy you are. This is the best thing that you have ever done for yourself and now is the time to focus on your body is changing and how others are looking at you in admiration. If your co workers aren't asking about your surgery it's probably because they don't know how are are very involved in their own stuff. CONGRATS! -

Difference Between Hunger And Head Hunger? Help!
Ms skinniness replied to AMLP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Easy for him to say. You don't have to have heartburn to have acid in our stomachs. Perhaps you could do an experiment. Go buy an over the counter PPI (prilosec, omeprazole, nexium) and try it for a short period of time. If the hunger goes away, then you know it's acid reflex. If not your doc was right on. -

I got really frustrated when people would take up our valuable time with stupid questions that had already been discussed in numberous classes we had to take.

Failed Almanza Sleeve
Ms skinniness replied to vickie6866's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Your story is shocking! I would totally freak out if I needed to do the surgery over. The doc isn't willing to give you any discounts? Or do you trust him to do another procedure? Wish you luck in what ever you do. BTW, have you tried LilMissDiva's 5 day boot camp? -
Some Unnerving Coughing, 24 Days Sleeved
Ms skinniness replied to Diana Anderson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you still taking something for your GERD? It could be acid reflex so when your Surgeon's office calls you back (or you call them), ask them about a PPI. -
Holding Steady For Way Too Long.... Is This Normal?
Ms skinniness replied to Julie76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having the same difficulty. I have had 2 days where I showed a loss from 161 to 146. then the next day, i was back up to 161. So frustrating. Now I have decided to stay away from the scale and get back on a really low carb diet like the basic bootcamp. But instead of 1 week, it will be for 8 weeks. I'm following a plan from the book "The Metabolism Miracle." I haven't been sticking too it, and so from today on, I am going to follow it precisely. We can lose this weight, it's just going to be a little harder...... Yikes! -
Did My Sleeve On 22Nd December 2011
Ms skinniness replied to hamanyq8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Could this be Head Hunger? When you find yourself thinking about Johnny Rockets or Burger King, smile and picture in your head a big lb of butter. Because basically, that's what it is, pure fat. -
Ummm never heard of them.

Critizing The "old" You
Ms skinniness replied to eylish's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
People are always opening their mouths without thinking how they are hurting the other person. I think it's time to look inside ourselves and know that we are working hard to get to where we all. If you don't believe this, look at your body, that's evidence of your hard work. We might gain a lb or two, but we can also refocus ourselves and loose the lb or two that we gained. Visiting this site helps keep us focused. Smile b/c today is a beautiful day. Look at all the wonderful people on this site. -
I do this also. I'm always thinking about what I can eat for my next meal. I just try to keep it simple. Except today, I picked up some meat lover's pizza and my son will cook them tonight. I usually eat 1 bit with crust and then take the topping off. My other problem is I can find all kinds of junk food in my daughter's room and I start to mindlessly take a bite here and there. I plan and telling them that I am struggling with not eating this. I hope they understand. I need to not be snacking anywhere.

Some Questions From A Newbie
Ms skinniness replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about some kind of broth? I know you said your vegetarian, but you do need some protein. Tomato soup could irritate your new stomach. You are really not that far out from surgery, I would suggest to just do the best you can and make sure what you eat is really nutritious. Get lots of fluid, protein, maybe unjury.
