Understanding The Procedure
Ms skinniness replied to Finding Myself's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The Newport Beach one, is that lap band or the sleeve? It doesn't sound like they are giving you the correct info. My surgery was in Fountain Valley and they required a 2 night stay and used staples. -
Congrats! I love how your Rockin your Sleeve to success! Keep up the good work!

I had the same problem. It lasted about 5 weeks. When I would drink something, my chest would spasm. So I learned to drink things warm and just endure the uncomfortableness. My stomach was swollen and cold drinks would make it spasm. Hope this helps.

What Constitutes Being A Slow Loser?
Ms skinniness replied to TheSkinnyCow73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with your hubby! Step away from the scale! It is already driving your crazy! You need to put the scale in a time out zone and leave it there. You are having unrealistic expectations in losing weight. You didn't gain it over night, and you won't lose it over night. We all have different speeds of losing weight and you will loose it! Trust me. Enjoy today and embrace the new life style changes you are bringing into your life. Watch how you are changing each day at a time. Don't get sucked into that scale and the #'s. You are doing great and you have a very supportive hubby. Enjoy what you have today, not tomorrow. Take 1 day a time. -
It makes me so sad to hear about a tragic loss of a mother. It's one of those difficult things to experience. Even worst when it's a daughter! So sorry for your loss. I have always hated taking pics of myself. After hearing these stories, I think it's time to start taking some pics! I am definitely rocking my sleeve these days!

I Am 3 Weeks Post-Op With Vertical Sleeve And So Excited!
Ms skinniness replied to DisneyMom4419's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We all have those struggles. I'm glad you have the sleeve, I think it's more effective than the band for most people, at least it's permanent! CONGRATS! -
I Am 3 Weeks Post-Op With Vertical Sleeve And So Excited!
Ms skinniness replied to DisneyMom4419's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wouldn't worry about what others think. This is a no need to know deal. But I'm curious as to why you don't want to tell anyone you had changed your mind and picked the sleeve? This is more concerning to me. -
You are doing fine. Don't beat your self up for those five little cookies. Just make a conscious effort not to do that again. SOmetimes we do things that sabotages our weight loss. Just get back on track. When feeling emotional with that horrible empty feeling, try exercising somehow. That's what my plan is. Hang in there baby!

Catracks you are so right. I always see a younger version of myself and realize I need to work on this. I am learning to love myself in many different ways. I realize that I avoid looking at myself in the mirror up to now and have consciously been looking in the mirror now. I am taking new pictures or myself (in my mind's eye) to reflect back.

Hit My First Roadblock Today
Ms skinniness replied to Bubbaloo10's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
wow that sucks! However, we have to do what we have to do to get to a more healthier life style. I am so thankful that my *** gave me the referral. It was the surgeon's office that gave me a hard time. The doc kept giving me to their Physicians Assistant which knew nothing about my case. Thankfully, we got that settled really quick. -
Help?!?!?!?!?!? This Is Not A Good Thing
Ms skinniness replied to blackanese25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing really great. You can go to a free clinic here in CA for your sciatica. Also call you doc's office and tell them that you don't have any insurance now and can they give you a reasonable rate. Those doc's are as in need of money like we are. They will give a reduced rate because basically they just check to see how your doing anyways. It could be different if there's complications though. Just a thought! Hang in there and keep Rockin that Sleeve! -
Acid, Acid, More Acid.. Constant Gnawing Feeling In Stomach
Ms skinniness replied to Pinkbetty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I watched a video on youtube that stated that our acid comes back later in our recovery as well. This might just need a PPI. But it is wise to get the erosion checked out for safety reasons. -

Is Stretching A Real Concern? How Do You Avoid It?
Ms skinniness replied to sirensiren's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I struggle with this. I hear from numerous sources about both, the stomach can stretch, no the stomach doesn't stretch. SOmetimes I worry that this is not a permanent weight loss and struggle with getting rid of all my large cloths. But today, I cleaned out the closet and have hardly anything in there. But, I am workin on accepting where I am and focus on healthy eating that my sleeve has brought me. I can do this, I am . We totally Rock our Sleeves! -
Your body needs some time to heal. When your weight training, your tearing down you muscles. That means that your muscles have to heal and build to repair them. I would alternate with cardio just to keep going. You will get there. It doesn't have to be overnight. Hang in there and give it a try and see how your body is responding.
