More energy loosing in inches more room in seats The person I'm working with is tongue wagging all the time and telling me how good I look. And there's a lot more. I'm truly grateful that I had this procedure, it has changed my whole life. -
The best thing would be to call your surgeon's office tomorrow morning and describe the pain to them. They could give you accurate info then.

35 Bmi With Co-Morbities Question...
Ms skinniness replied to Felicity549's topic in Insurance & Financing
You should make an appt with your PCP and discuss this with him so he can give you a referral. I've heard some people with a BMI of 40 was rejected. Do you have diabetes? Anyways, I would talk with your PCP. (primary care physician) -
That's a sexy neck for a sexy woman! CONGRATS! Can't wait to see further transitions....

How Much Protein Is Required?
Ms skinniness replied to vampsy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally, I never got enough protein in. I could barely drink 1 premier protein shake from Costco. But I worked up to it. Your NUT is giving you a # to work towards. Do the best you can and be done with it. It sounds like your doing fine. Isopure drinks are horrible. I do use Isopure powder vanilla to make high protein baked goods though. Have you tried the premier protein drinks from costco (kirkland) or Sam's club? -
I wouldn't at 3.5 weeks out. I was barely on pureed foods. BTW I just ate yogurt, SF pudding, soups, because the thought of pureed foods made me want to barf. However, I had gone that far with the procedure, I didn't want to risk it. The negative things that could happen is sliming, hot flashes, throwing up, or upset stomach.

Sleeved On March 1St
Ms skinniness replied to Time2Lose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
CONGRATS! You are having a happy journey and I'm so happy for you. Now, let's get to Rocking that Sleeve! -
Rico: this is normal. I've had really long stalls but I was losing in inches! That is even better for me. But you are 11 lbs away from your goal and it might be harder to loose the last 11 lbs. If you haven't taken any measurements, this is an excellent time to measure your body. Take measurements of your chest, waist, hips, thighs, arms, and calfs. Plus are your cloths getting looser? Do you need to buy new cloths? Those are tail tail signs of loss. Keep Rockin that Sleeve!

Ms skinniness replied to Debbi Farmer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's always best to error on the side of caution. It is probably gas, but call your surgeon's office tomorrow and ask them. that's what they're for. CONGRATS! You are now the the BIG LOSER'S TEAM! ;) -

Congrats to both of youl My surgery was 10/4/11 and I have lost 67 lbs. It is such a great feeling. I have my goal as 130 lbs but am big boned so am not sure if it's realistic. Every one keep telling me how small I am now, but the #'s on the scales tell me different. The scale tells me I'm not at goal yet LOL. SO I am going to keep eating healthy (for the rest of my life) and work on increasing my exercise.

Yes you may be a medical student buy I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and can tell you that you don't know what your talking about. As a medical student, you would have researched this surgery and learned more about how your stomach is not able to handle the foods your eating. Oh wait a minute, you are eating what we call sliders with no nutritional value actually. Please call your surgeon's office and set up a consult with the doc about the importance of diet. It would be highly beneficial. Is this for real? Or are you trying to see how many people you can get to respond?

From Feeling Great To Feeling Blah!
Ms skinniness replied to koriswlj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try taking your vits at bedtime with some yogurt to coat your stomach. Try introducing foods that get you nauseous at a very slow pace. This is hard work to get to know our body. I have been very lucky with no complications or nauseousness. However, I do under eat my sleeve so I don't get uncomfortable. Keep trying, it will get better when you take your PPI. -
This operation is stupid? I'm confused. you are making some poor choices in what you eat and yet you say the operation is stupid. Can you share the reasons the operation isn't working fo you?

Better to post pone till monday than to have complications later.

Putting The Scale Away
Ms skinniness replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is such a great idea to put the scale in time out! Yes, I said it, TIME OUT! I like your plan and hope others can do the same. But we have had 85% of our stomachs removed and really can't eat that much anyways. The foods I want to put in my stomach are the healthy ones. I notice that when I eat fish, I will drop some weight, but I'm not going to stress over it anymore. When I get rid of the constantly checking, I actually dropped weight. Imagine that, I've been sabotaging myself this whole time with that stupid scale! I don't want to be caught up in that vicious cycle anymore. -
I know I didn't have one. I have also had other surgeries where they had to inform us that one may be used. But Never did have one. This is something I wouldn't worry about. You most likely won't need to have one. This is your fear talking! Do discuss this with your doc. Don't like they change your mind. This has been the best thing that's ever happen and I would make the same decision over and over again.

Whats The Skinny? Saturday
Ms skinniness replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your thinking about getting any of the WLS, you need to be prepared and know that it's not that easy. Once they take 85% of your stomach out, it's gone! period! I was fortunate enough to have to take the Options class with Kaiser before being referred. I was upset about being forced to take a 12 week class, but very thankful now. I was able to work with a NUT before starting. The only thing I didn't like is that the class was slanted towards the RnY and We weren't informed of the slant! But that's ok, it's over and I've lost over 67 lbs.
