Monday Funday Question Of The Day!
Ms skinniness replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I meditate and watch nature. In the mountains this weekend, I put some shelled peanuts outside our cabin door and watched the blue jays and wood peckers come and take the peanuts. It was so interesting watching them get picky about which peanut they wanted. There were at least a dozen of them. LOL! Nature is so beautiful! -
Its Only Week 2: Why Am I So Hungry?
Ms skinniness replied to Shemy-away's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had this after the surgery as well. It will get better with time. And at times when it's time to eat, I am really ravenous. Then I can only eat a few bites. Best Wishes and try to get a lot of protein in. -
Business Trip Temporarily Derailed My Weight Loss
Ms skinniness replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You can do it! I have to do it tooooooo. I'm going to focus more on eating organically and wild salmon. I need to put healthier foods in my stomach since I have such limited capacity. Let's do this together! -
Hair loss typically begins at the 3 month post op mark. You can loose about 30% of your hair. It will grow back and from my understanding, biotin and silica help with hair growth so it could help the hair come back quicker.

So Frustrated With Eating Out!
Ms skinniness replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so touched by everyone's warm heartedness and kindness that it makes me emotional. This means so much to me. Thank you so much, I love everyone on this site and am so blessed to have you guys on my team! -
I need to snap out of this rut I'm in and get back on track! I came home from the mountains and discovered I didn't have any premier protein drinks left and now I'm in withdrawal!

Got Sick For The First Time Saturday
Ms skinniness replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GOSH, I have never had this experience. My stomach just feels really full for about 10 minutes and then goes away. I do eat way tooooooo fast, but I seem to know when to stop (knock on wood). I am working on slowing down, but when I see my hubby eating really fast, I start having control issues and tell him to slow down. It so sucks. Anywhoo, thanks for sharing and it wasn't TMI. It is really hard to stay focused when having other people around who can eat a lot. Please accept my apology for being in a slump today. I will just have to snap myself out of this rut! LOL -
Well Ladies, maybe it's time for us ladies to take charge. Yes, I mean take charge. Ask for what you want from your man! Yep, give him directions on what you like. Slow it down, take time to enjoy every moment of it. The funny thing is, that when you are in an aroused state, you do not feel pain like you would if not aroused. Sorry, this may be TMI! But enjoy sex! We burn calories when we're having sex! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

So Frustrated With Eating Out!
Ms skinniness replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is reassuring to read that others have this struggle too. I know that it's a dilemma that we all share. I also know that in some aspect I just don't want to cook myself. I have cooked for many years and had just decided I didn't want to cook any more. I call it just plain being lazy. But today is a new day and I will work harder to fix my own foods. I've noticed with me, that since I can put a limited amount of foods in my stomach, I am focusing alot more on organic foods like wild salmon, organically grown veggies, and I do avoid the processed foods when I do cook. That's my new goal. Organic foods. I can't handle the thought of eating pesticides in my food any more. I also believe that processed foods contributed a lot to my weight gain. Besides eating way too much. I just realized that I have been getting really picky when eating out, not happy when I don't know the grade of meat I'm getting. Wow, I just realized that I handle my anxiety by going out instead eating at home. Oh, I know I also have to have better time management skills to do a better job with eating healthy. SOrry for the rant. Thank you everyone for your feed back. XOXOXOXO! -
I was told that my protein drinks counted as fluid. Try to get as much of your protein shakes in. It's very important for healing......

Overweight Family/friends
Ms skinniness replied to ProudGrammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Actually, My DH is also over weight and is constantly hungry. He is diabetic and often skips meals. He'll say he's not hungry, but will then devour any food put in front of him. in the began I liked letting him have my stuff bc I can't eat the majority of it. Now I realize that I'm not doing him any favors. So I have been telling him that I'm fearful that somethings going to happen to him and that I need him to just eat less foods. I keep giving the message of "eat less" and he has started weighing himself and eating less. Unless it's the times where he skips meals and then he devours what evers in front of him. But to his credit, he has lost a few lbs. I am so proud of him for that. Ask your hubby how many over weight senior citizens does he see? That might help motivate him. Your friends and family do want to pull you back to the status quo to ease their insecurities, but it is toooooooo late! There's no going back, so let them have their anxiety and smile and be proud of your healthy decisions. -

Lynda: I just read somewhere that having a healthy snack in the evening after dinner is far more healthier because it prevents our blood sugar from dropping and our metabolic rate to slow down. I am working really hard to have some type of healthy snack around 9:00pm at night, so that my metabolism keeps going. Are your Snacks healthy ones or are they carbs. I am trying to just get more Protein in, or maybe a piece of fruit. Just food for thought! Keep Rockin your sleeve!

You have done a terrific job losing weight! CONGRATS! So proud of you! -
I don't believe that there is a honey moon period. I believe that we are able to work our sleeve and lose weight. In the beginning, we had a tendency to loose at a llittle faster rate due to very low calorie intake. Our stomachs are so swollen. Can't wait until you join us on the BIG LOSER'S BENCH!

CONGRATS! Welcome to the BIG LOSER'S CLUB! I had gas for about 2 months post op. I went to the ER because I thought I had a blood clot in my leg and the ER doc told me I had alot of gas and that there could be a leak. Anyhow, I didn't have a leak, it was just gas LOL. I started take a PPI like omeprazole.

Frustrated! Eat This, Not That....
Ms skinniness replied to rohnk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, this does sound like a lot of food. I'm 5 months post op and I drink 11 oz protein drink at 7:00am and 8:00 an egg with a little cheese. Then at 11 or 12:00 I will have 2 oz of chicken with 2 pieces of broccoli. At around 5:00pm I will eat 2 oz protein, maybe four. And I drink 11oz Premier Protein drink. Here is my calorie counter:http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/dorrierobles2003 that will give you a better pic of what I eat. -
