Forbidden Medications Post-Sleeve
Ms skinniness replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is kind of scarey. The doc's are giving us all kinds of different info here. I want to error on the side of caution and not take NSAIDS or aspirin. Getting an ulcer isn't worth the risk. -
Forbidden Medications Post-Sleeve
Ms skinniness replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We can't take aspirin, NSAIDS (motrin, aleve, ibuprofen, naproxin). The reason being is that these meds can cause ulcers in our stomachs. It's kinda scary for me because I have a heal spur and with out my indocin, it's inflamed and painful at times. Oh well, I have to pray it will go away soon. -

How Did You All Do It?
Ms skinniness replied to Suitebliss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking a PPI? It could be gas? Can you increase your protein shakes to help settle the hungry monster in your tummy? It will get better. SOmetimes it takes longer for the hunger part to subside, but it will. -

Really Starting To Wonder If Am Meant To Be The Skinny Girl?
Ms skinniness replied to frumpy69's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have these days tooooooo. Today, kinda bored and guess what? I have a lot of head hunger. LOL I need to devise a plan to get rid of the head hunger. Your body is probably shifting and changing in inches. If we think about it. We didn't gain the weight over night, so it will take time to loose it. But, we have time. You will lose the weight, be patience and give yourself a lot of credit. This is a hard journey on our bodies. Have you measured yourself? If not, this is the perfect time to take measurements of your body. You can see the inches dissipating really quickly. Your body is working over time now, so sit back and enjoy the ride! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! -
Pain Left Side Under Rib
Ms skinniness replied to jwelk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's fairly common. Have you over did it? That is the site where most surgeon's take the stomach out and it is somewhat temper-mental. Perhaps you can put your binder on to help support the incision site. If you get feverish, or the incision gets red and hot, call you doc or go into the ER. It could be an infection. -

Ms skinniness replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Debby: at this point in your recovery, the protein shakes can also count as a liquid. I couldn't get much in my stomach either. I never hit goal for the first 5 to 6 weeks. Sounds like your doing great! Keep it up. -

Insurance Co. Doesn't Want To Pay For Anesthesia
Ms skinniness replied to gmanbat's topic in Insurance & Financing
The bariatrics department sent Kaiser a bill and my surgery was approved before they gave me a referral. I kept getting bills for $49,000 stating that they were denied. When I spoke with Kaiser, they told me that they had not received the correct billing from the bariatric surgeon. They told me not to worry about it, and after a few more denials, the insurance company paid it. I was really sweating there. LOL -

CONGRATS! Wait until you get into a size 8! It will happen. Keep Rockin that Sleeve! -
The best place to get info is by surfing the web and looking at empirical studies with plication. I love my sleeve and I think that whatever site you go on, they are going to tell you that their choice is a better choice. Wish you luck in your decision.

Let's keep our finger's crossed! If they deny the appeal, then look into an attorney to represent you. That might work.

I Think I've Made The Decision
Ms skinniness replied to kczar's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had tried so many diets in the past and just plan gave up! I was diagnosed with diabetes and had very high cholesterol that I became really afraid of the side effects of diabetes. I had been contemplating getting the surgery for quite a few years now. My doc kept telling me that my BMI was too low. So I was going to go out and pay out of pocket. Told my PCP and he then said that I was diabetic and he would refer me to barbaric department. I am 5 months post op and with low blood sugar and my A1C is at 6. Goal target is 5.9 and under. I have lost 68 lbs and loving it. My daughter tells me I'm looking anorexic. I'm not, but she's so use to seeing me bigger, that the skinner me looks so tiny. I love this. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. However, it is not a cake walk. It can be like a roller coaster. -
So Frustrated With Eating Out!
Ms skinniness replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After contemplating here after reading all these fine posts. I have made a final decision in eating out. I am going to just eat off of my hubby's plate bc he doesn't need all that food. I have looked at appetizer's and everything I seen was fried and high fat. Or I can just order a soup. It's really hard to come to terms with all this, but here it is, right in front of me. Thank you guys! -
So Frustrated With Eating Out!
Ms skinniness replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
longer-life: Me too, I find myself checking for messages and reading my emails. I really like to keep busy. -
It is so frustrating when you are constantly minimized by places. It is completely unethical to delay your surgery and lie about it on top of it. It is hard to trust anyone when they lie to you. You are just as important as anyone else is and no one has the right to tell you different. Treasure yourself and tell yourself that you are important. Sorry you had to experience this S___! Thoughts are with you! Your day will soon be here.
