I Can't Figure Out What The Correct Balance Is...
Ms skinniness replied to Crystal Woods's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing great! Your only 2 weeks out and this is a time to coddle your stomach. I was doing soups, Protein drinks, yogurt, pudding sf, until 3 weeks out. I could hardly eat anything. I don't drink fluids with my meals. I follow the rule of 30/30. 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after. Take it one day at a time. Oh, btw, protein drinks count as liquids at this point in your recovery. Are you on a PPI? You could be experiencing hunger when it's actually acid or gas in your stomach. A PPI is omeprazole, nexium, tums, etc. If in doubt call your surgeon's office for a prescription. GOOD JOB and CONGRATS on your success! -
Advice, Tips And Suggestions Needed - Please Help!
Ms skinniness replied to DallasMomofTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had the same issue, what I do, is I go by the Nike's "Just do it." I just go to the gym, get on the treadmill or recumbant bike, and I stay on it for at least 10 minutes in the beginning. Maybe you can get your hubby or kids to go for a walk with you. It's a start and just schedule it in your day as if that's what you do as well as going to work. Make it fun and exciting. -

I am really concerned that you have a resistance to exercise. Exercise is beneficial in so many ways that contribute to healthy living. It gives you more energy too. You will be able to do more stuff with your twins too. You would be role modeling a healthy life choice for your children that can help them later in life too. Please reconsider exercise in your life style. It's a really great feeling when you can get out and actually do things. Oh, btw, muscle helps burn fat faster. -

Your diet looks good. Try eating less and then eating a little more. Give your body a jolt to get it back in gear. Also I like the ideal of exercising more. You've come this far, now it's time to sprint! -

Don't forget that as you exercise you are building muscle, which will give you a little weight gain. Drink lots of water and don't drink when you eat. Stop focusing on the scale and just enjoy your day. It will come off whether you stress about it or not.

Ms skinniness replied to cludgie's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats! I attended 1 support group and there were 4 other people besides myself. There was only 1 other person with a sleeve and the others were RnY. I didn't get much out of the meeting, the other person that was sleeved was very quiet and came in late. I will have to try another group. -

CONGRATS! Welcome to the BIG LOSER'S BENCH! We've been waiting patiently. It is so good to hear how your doing. I loved my morphine button. I knew that would keep me from running away! LOL -
No need to be sad. You are not done yet. Give you body time to rest, eat according to sleeve rules, which are: Protein first, veggies, and a small amount of starches. Maybe look up LilMissDiva's Basic Boot Camp to help get you a new start....... Believe me, you are not done!

CONGRATS! You are going to do great with your sleeve! Keep dropping those inches! -
Some docs say that if you have a fatty liver, it can get nicked during the process so they put their patients on a diet before hand to help eliminate risks in nicking the fatty liver.

You guys are doing great. This high lights where I have been so avoidant of exercise. for some reason, I feel like my body is really fragile. It's not,I know, so today I will walk for a while! and ride my recumbant bike. Maybe I need to wait until after I see my PCP for my heel spur tomorrow.

Post Op Almost 4.5 Months
Ms skinniness replied to needachange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like a stall to me. Can you drink Protein drinks? Try taking in more. Also, make sure your getting your Omega 3's in. I try to eat wild salmon when possible. I really work hard on staying away from farm raised. You have lost 58 lbs and that is fantastic! You are really doing great right now. Give yourself some credit for the hard work you've done in shedding the 58lbs and try not to stress on it. The weight will come off in due time. This is not a race but a new start in life. We are so lucky to have this transformation. Keep Rockin your Sleeve and you are doing great. -
Eat like you already have the WLS surgery, meaning, eat proteins, veggies with a little starches. Eat half of what you are eating and you will loose weight. Cut out all the breads, pasta's, and rice's. Or at least cut down on them. You can do this and it's gives you a head start for after surgery because your mind set is changed.

You will be able to take normal drinks again when the swelling in your stomach goes down.
