Success But Not Without Challenges
Ms skinniness replied to Jensharley's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
OMG! This is so me! I was giving my food to my DH because i didn't want to waste it. Then I started realizing that I wasn't doing him any favors either. He blood sugar is way up because he eats too much food. When I realized that I wasn't doing him any favors, I just started throwing my left overs out. Even at his parents house, where is father is way more stringent about throwing anything out. I just put my napkin over it and slip it into the trash. My husband was pretty ok with that. This is really a hard thing to change. But the food is better off in the thrash rather than my DH's stomach! This is life threatening actually. I did go on ebay and find some really cut little desert bowls and plates that I use for when I eat now. It helps me cut down on the food I put on my plate and I love them. It's very special and gives me a feeling of success. -
Day 13, First Meal, Not A Good Day
Ms skinniness replied to VACookey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, you are doing great. It would be very helpful if you keep everything you eat moist. the dryness will make it bulk up in your throat and it feels weird. This will past with time. I'm always hungry when in the grocery store and that's my head hunger. I'm learning to deal with it now. So it's much easier for me. -
April 4 is an excellent day for your surgery! That is my 6 month post op anniversary. I have had no complications and I love my sleeve! CONRATS to you!

Hair Advice Please! I'm Freaking Out!
Ms skinniness replied to Queen of Crop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been loosing hair since 2 months post op and I'm getting a little concerned. My hair is getting really thin. I am 5.5 months post op today and my hair is still coming out. I have taken biotin 10,000mcg and silica for hair and nair regrowth. I have heard that the hair will grow back so I'm working really hard to be patient. But I do love my slimmer body! Love my sleeve! -
Forensikic you can do this. He's 18 years old and needs to get out and doing something meaningful for himself. This is frustrating for you as a parent and really hard to deal with. I admire your courage and strength. Hang in there and set those boundaries.

Children can be a blessing and also a pain in the A--. Emotional eating is really a difficult thing to deal with. Especially during emotional times when we are stressed to our max. Take some deep cleansing breaths where your exhaling all your angst out with every cleansing breathe you take. Do this often, it works. Sending positive energy your way!

Fat Guys Mind In A Post Sleave Body
Ms skinniness replied to pasquini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is awesome! You reached your 1st set goal of 135! Dancing in the rain! We will always need to watch what we eat because we can gain the weight back. I believe in eating a healthy diet for the rest of my life where I focus more on Protein first, 3 meals a day, no high carb, nutritionist food allowed, I will be able to maintain my weight. I love the way I look right now (with cloths on) and don't want to go up in sizes. This will work for me. This is forever. -

I am totally shocked and I know I probably shouldn't be. I am a total salt lover and I always put salt on everything. I have days when my weight fluctuates and i freak out about it. Today I had a Premier Protein drink and fried egg. I was looking at the values on Myfitnesspal.com and realized that I never logged sodium. So I went to settings and changed the Calcium column to potassium. Wow, I was totally shocked in the salt I eat. I'm already at 528 potassium That's not including the salt that I add to my food. This is why my weight fluctuates so much. I am choosing to change this bad habit right now, I don't need that much salt in my diet if this is the havoc that I go through. Just is so insightful, now I can change this habit.

Ms skinniness replied to brandymarie81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been reading about starvation mode, and what I found out is that we don't go into starvation mode until our body fat is below a certain percentage. I believe it was 5%. So is all the other info we hear about hype? What do you guys think? -

We all have these fears. The people that are giving you feedback about the surgery is talking from their fears and ignorance. They don't know anything about these medical procedures and are speaking out of turn. This is not easy to do but very much worth it both physically and emotionally.

First Really Hard Day!
Ms skinniness replied to 2ndtimesacharm's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, it is very hard to be with our families when they're eating the foods that we love. I get caught up with the amount that they are eating. Hahaha. But I am working on telling myself that at least I'm not going to be gaining any of my weight back.
