Low Blood Pressure Issues Since Surgery
Ms skinniness replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey, I also have low BP most times, but recently found out that dehydration contributes to my BP also. So make sure your getting a lot of fluids in to avoid dehydration. I got really dizzy and it felt like there was a vortex coming down upon me. It was so scary. So now I'm trying to drink at least 100 ounces a day. It's difficult but doable. -
I have been so good on not eating sugars and drinking a lot more G2 mixed with water. But now I'm wondering if I'm sabotaging myself with G2 since it has sucralose. Hummmmm! Can anybody give me feed back?

Is A Two Week Stall Normal?
Ms skinniness replied to smileygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is normal for your body to rest. It is most likely adjusting in inches. Have you taken your measurements? If not, this is a great time to do it so you have a baseline. You will be able to measure your loss in inches which is more rewarding to me than lbs. -

Hot Vs Cold Drinks
Ms skinniness replied to ThisTimeIsIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely liked warm drinks right after surgery. Cold drinks caused my stomach to cramp up. Anyways, I couldn't drink hot drinks like tea because it irritated my stomach. It did get better around 3 months post op. Keep sipping and walking and that will assist in healing. -

A Different Person
Ms skinniness replied to smilebig2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CONGRATS! People outside our circle think we took the easy way out. But actually this is one of the hardest things we can ever do. This will get easier for you as you heal and you will learn new ways to look at food. I too watch my hubby eat and get really frustrated when I see how much he eats. At restrants I am totally like amazed at the hugh amount of food others are consuming. Sometimes I have head hunger and I want to eat nore, but my sleeve stops me. I love my sleeve. I am sending some healing energy your way for a quick recovery. Enjoy your journey! -
Glad your home and having no pain. Be sure to sip, sip, sip, and walk, walk, walk. Take it one day at a time and you will be very successful. CONGRATS!

One Year Surgiversary
Ms skinniness replied to grannyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CONGRATS! I love hearing stories like this. This is success! -
If I have this right, your 4 weeks post op. You have had it pretty rough and only lost 18 lbs. That's pretty good considering your having a rough start. It will get better, you just need to make it though 4 more weeks and hopefully the blood clot situation will have cleared up. Are you able to walk? I know my surgeon wanted me to walk for a few minutes every hour to help prevent blood clots from forming. It was difficult because I was tired. Have you ever read anything on ketosis? Since we can't really eat much carbs, our bodies go into a state of ketoses. Which really effects how we think and process stuff. It does help us burn fat quicker though. Please hang in there, it does get better. Rest as much as you can and walk as much too. Walking helps alot with energy levels. Oh and drink lots of water. If your dehydrated, you will be fatigued. Hope this helps.

Soooo Scared
Ms skinniness replied to scared2deathforreal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I would research the vertical sleeve on google, watch youtube videos, and find a new Dr. that is supportive of a wls that I needed for my health. I wouldn't worry about losing your old doc, he's old school and lacks knowledge into the psychological effects and the addiction to food. This is a decision that you need to make, don't let your fear stop you. Make an educated decision, and go with it, either way, for surgery, or no surgery. If you could loose the weight on your own, you would of done it already. -
Considering Vsg Surgery - Wondering How Common Revisions Are Down The Road?
Ms skinniness replied to MyGastricSleeveLife's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
A PA at my surgeon's office was telling me that some people are wanting to get their stapleline redone due to being stretched. But I'm thinking, even if there is a little stretch in our stomach, the if we continue to make the right choices in food, then we wouldn't really be able to eat that much more. It's all about the choices we make. Oh and making sure we are totally hydrated. -
Maggi ~ Wow your GF has gone through a lot with her sleeve. Hope she gets better really soon. She must be horridly scared right now.

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
Ms skinniness replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Coops ~ I too am at a point where I'm not focusing on lbs anymore. I am just taking it one day at a time. I did find out that I can't eat sugar due to an increase in my A1C level. It went up .3. LOL I should of known better. I was thinking that I wasn't necessarily diabetic any more. Well, I am still diabetic. That's ok. I have gone about 3 days with out sugar and I'm happy with that. I have been hydrating myself and I find that by body is kinda spongy. It is really driving me crazy. I expected loose skin, but spongy flesh? LOL But I too am at 6 months and haven't really done much. I've also been thinking that this is it. But i like my body and am just going to work on getting in some exercise to tone it. Lately I have been avoiding exercise due to fatigue. Now I know that it was because I was dehydrated. I find it really hard to get in fluids. But the past weekend I've been drinking around 80 ozs of Water mixed with gatorade, low calorie. I'm just going to keep doing what i've been doing. -

Gaining Weight On Pre-Op Diet
Ms skinniness replied to reinventingdee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just do what the surgeon directed you to do. You will be fine. CONGRATS! -
I had. Some denial going on here. I thought since I was six months out with low blood sugar, my A1C being at 6. I could eat candy. So for a while I was eating mini candy bars. Not just 1, but 3. I was dehydrated and since I was in urgent care, I asked the doc to test my A1C and he ordered it. Well, the results came back and instead of my A1C decreasing, it went up to 6.3. My conclusion is that my diabetes is in remission and I can not be eating sugar. It's toxic. I know that I am addicted to sugar and it's my curse. I can not have 1 tiny bite of it. It's evil! So bad was I. I really need to control this!
