Wine And Whine Wednesday!
Ms skinniness replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, my hubby eats like pig. He will eat tons of food if it wasn't for his diabetes. His blood sugar was so high, his PCP called him on his cell phone and told him to make an appt with him. So now he's trying to eat less but is always hungry. That's what happens when your blood sugar gets out of control. He also gets really bad breath that can permeate the whole room. I can't stand it any more. -

Wine And Whine Wednesday!
Ms skinniness replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, here's my gripe! I am so upset with myself for testing the sleeve. Yes, I tested it! I thought that since I wasn't eating that much and when I felt a little off, I would eat 3 mini chocolate candies. I did this for a little over 2 weeks and when I went to urgent care for dehydration, I asked if they would test my A1C level for diabetes. Well, they did and my A1c level had increased by .3. This woke me up to the fact that I am still diabetic and will probably always be diabetic! This sucks. So mad at myself. NO MORE SUGAR FOR ME! -
Just so I'm hearing this right, you are replacing one addiction with another addiction. So now is the best time to get your S*** together and stop with these unproductive behaviors. I wish you could see a therapist for help, that is highly advised. You said your BF doesn't know you had the surgery? How could he not know. How did you explain the incision scars to him? This is a great time to sit down with him and tell him what's going on and ask for his help in getting back on track. Eat protein, protein, protein, no alcohol, no carbs, lean low fat foods with some veggies. You can do this1 Make healthy eating your new addiction and focus on small portion size. Please keep us informed.

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
Ms skinniness replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have just done around 3 days of LilMissDiva's "The Basic Boot Camp Diet: and have lost 3 ounces. I am 6.5 months post op and haven't lost anything for a while. I am working on increasing my water intake. I am striving for 100 oz per day. The best thing to do is eat protein, veggies, a a tiny bit of carbs. IT will take about 3 days to not have the cravings from the carbs. It is best that you go through your house and dispose of all the carbs to decrease the temptations. You can do this! You have done really well so far. You just slipped back into past habits. Remember, you don't have much room in your sleeve for too much food, so every thing you put in your mouth much have the highest nutritional balance possible. You Rock! -
Soooo Scared
Ms skinniness replied to scared2deathforreal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Scared2death ~ It's normal to be scared of something that some people are opposed to it. I have had migraine's since I was 24 years old and since having this surgery 6 months ago, I have not had any migraines. People who don't take supplements as directed by his/her doctor's are at risk of malnourtrition. However, this is the patients responsibility to follow the doctor's order. Over all, I am 150% healthier than I was pre-sleeve. I hope you can come to terms with your fears and make an appropriate decision based on facts. -
Maybe you won't need to worry about dehydration so much. That's an NSV. CONGRATS on TOM! Your doing great.

Frozen Yogurt In Shakes?
Ms skinniness replied to beachlover1129's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I wouldn't put any frozen yogurt in my shakes due to the sugar content. I got the surgery to help reduce calories and decrease my sugar so that I'm not diabetic anymore. However, I want to keep my weight moving off me. -

1 Week Post Op Did Something Bad :-/
Ms skinniness replied to Misstxdiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be careful you don't get food stuck in your staple line. Doc's have you on a special diet to help prevent leaks by eating the wrong foods at the wrong time. -
Sounds like you had over eaten. Straighten your body up and allow your sleeve to move. This will make room for a tiny bit of food to shift around. Keep your bites really small and take a little time between bites. No worries, these are things that tell you you ate tooooo much.

Hair Hair Hair Everywhere
Ms skinniness replied to Iliana82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, and so it begins! LOL Biotin and silica is great for hair regrowth, but doesn't really help too much for preventing hair loss. Don't worry because it will grow back. I read that we could loose up to 33% of our hair. Some do, and some don't. You will be fine, your hair will just look a little thinner, but your be pretty skinny. Yayyyy! -
Diet With The Sleeve Question
Ms skinniness replied to hrtgoeson's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doc really has said anything about diet. It's the NUT that educated us on portion size and balance in diet. Oh and not to eat rice, pasta's, and breads. If we eat bread we need to toast it first. However, after eating protein, I am pretty much done. -
How Many Calories Post Sleeve
Ms skinniness replied to Lauranbob Mc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every one is different. My NUT wants me to eat 1200 calories a day. I can't eat that much most of the time, so I do what I can. I agree with everyone else, follow the rules for your sleeve and please use myfitnesspal.com to log food intake. It is a real eye opener. Oh, and do drink a lot of water. -
When Can The Sleeve Start Streching?
Ms skinniness replied to suzy1230's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I never get to a point of throwing up. I eat a certain amount and then stop. i put less food on my plate and then I stop. I give most of my food that I get when eating out to other family members. But I don't stress on it. All we really need is a small amount of a well balanced diet. -

Cobrargc ~ Have you had surgery or are you in the process of having it? Just curious. -
I had gotten dehydrated last thursday and had an IV Since then I have increased my fluid intake utilizing G2 gatorade diluted with water. I get in around 80 oz to 90 ozs and am always going pee. When I go to bed and sleep for 7 hours, I am totally dehydrated again and have a slight HA. I'm not sure what's going on or if my body is still recovering from my dehydration. I've researched the web and can not find any time from for recovery. Has anyone had this experience?
