I'm New And Undecided
Ms skinniness replied to Kate27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is the best decision I could of made for my self personally and for my health. I was first looking at the lap band but then realized that the lap band was only a temporary decision and would need surgery again to have it removed and I didn't like the refill stuff. I also had an old friend that I ran into that had the band 2 years previous and she was still way over weight. So I wanted something that was permanent. Now I have it and love it! The sleeve rules! I hope you will join us on the BIG LOSER'S BENCH! -
Bumps In The Road To The Losers Bench
Ms skinniness replied to chicagochic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have Kaiser insurance and after getting the referral from Kaiser, the surgeon said my BMI was on the borderline and that I couldn't have the procedure. What they had done was make an assumption that I had no comorbities because I wasn't taking any kind of medications for HBP, Diabetes, etc. Well I was diabetic and was taking lisnipril to protect my kidneys but the PA thought that was for HBP. I did reschedule an appointment closer to my surgery date to check on my weight status. I was trying to gain weight but couldn't. Finally, after further discussion with the surgeon, she rechecked and told me I was good to go. Up to the AM of the surgery, I actually believed that they were going to deny the surgery at the last minute. Low and behold, I got my sleeve and I'm totally happy by 150%, Some days I do want to eat a big meal but can't. I'm still adjusting to my new eating regime. -

So Frustrated......i Know This Is Just Part Of The Deal But Still....
Ms skinniness replied to JayhawkJess33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jayhawk you are absolutely right. We all have this struggle in the beginning. I know I did, but now realize I hated that struggle bc I reflected back in the beginning when I wasn't so focused and the weight just fell off. When I started weighing everyday and the weight stopped falling off, I was so frustrated and I decided after some time to just live life for today and just know that the weight will come up. Now having said that, I also believe that we have to be proactive and eat healthy and exercise. However, now is a time for you to sit back and take notice of how your cloths fit you in the AM in comparison to how they fit in the PM. I know that I would put on my slacks for work and they would fit but then by the PM they would be really loose. That was amazing for me. This will happen to others also. I love losing inchs. LOL -

favordone ~ I have read and also heard from my NUT to up my calories to increase weight loss. I have tried but always seem to hit around the 900 calorie mark. Part of me is afraid to increase too much for fear of gaining. I know that this is irrational. However, when I do increase to 1000 calories, I feel stuffed. Let's do an experiment. I will work especially hard for at least 1 week to increase my calorie intake to 1000 to 1200 and see if I can loose at least .5 lb. I will let you know the if it works or not. Thanks favordone. -

BTW ~ This is going to be a life time struggle for us so I figure I will just sit back and enjoy the ride. You are going to lose your weight and there will be stalls and the further out you get, weight loss slows down. So this is nothing that anyone can control. For me it's been a lot easier to handle it this way. You are doing great! This is a life long journey now. -

Progress Not Perfection... But.....
Ms skinniness replied to gettinthinner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, you lost 50 lbs in 3 months! That's fantastic! It's better to lose the weight a little slower so as to not have so much loose skin. But you will loose slower now that you are closer to goal. Keep doing what your doing and drink a lot of water and get in some exercise. Your doing great! Keep Rocking that Sleeve and you will loose. -

Allow Me To Introduce Myself
Ms skinniness replied to QueBSure's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Make a list of things you would like too know. How long has the surgeon been doing these procedures. what kind of diet do they require. Limitations? What size Bouchee are they using? (guide to stapleline) Do they glue, staple, sew stomach shut? These are some questions and maybe others have some suggestions also. Good luck and you will do fine! -
Can You Drink To Much?
Ms skinniness replied to hollirrose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It would be pretty hard to drink too much. Just drink as much as you can. -
Memorial Day Challenge!
Ms skinniness replied to Forensikchic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Cataracks: It is devastating when our weight's not moving. But it will. Are you drinking a lot of water. You might start if not already, taking omega 3 fish oil capsules. Eat more fish that are loaded with Omeaga 3's. I like wild caught. I don't see any benefits in eating farm raised. you can do this! look how much you've lost so far. Me I've pretty much have come to a stand still and are only losing ozs. I'm about close to my goal. So I will take whatever I can get. Hehehehehe. Hang in there.
