Bougie Size And Amount Of Weight To Lose - Is There A Relationship?
Ms skinniness replied to CJ_Redux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Bougie is just a # the doc perfers. The amount of food the sleeve will allow is not that significant. You will loose weight just as quickly as everyone else.. You still have a restriction that will restrict how much you eat. -
Sleeved 2 Years Out Plus
Ms skinniness replied to cudlyqt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can see why you would be apprehensive about this surgery. the lap band failed you and now is this procedure going to fail you? Well the only thing about this procedure that is going to fail you is you. This is a permanent tool, not like the lap-band, you will succeed at losing your weight permanently, but will always have to eat healthy. If you think you can eat what ever you want just in smaller portions, your wrong. You can have some treats, but need to get your protein in, eat low fat, and eat veggies with little starches. It's doable and I am totally enjoying it. I strive at eating healthy organic foods now and so is my DH. I did try eating fatty foods and it showed up in my blood work. Dam it! I thought I had it made. I eat smaller portion sizes now and need to work on exercising. This is the best decision I have made in my life time and have to work on a daily basis to keep to my healthy eating style now. This is my reality. -

discordya: So sorry you had a bad experience on that other website. This website is pretty awesome. The people are like family here and are very supportive and will let you know when you get off track. It's not to be mean, it's to help you confront the triggers that get you off track so that you can get back on track and be successful! You are awesome and please don't hold back from sharing here. We are family. There are very, very few times when a negative person is messing around and causing havick, and I usually go back and push the unfollow button, and don't participate in his/her cheap trills. They typically go away because they get bored. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Ms skinniness replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi reallyrosie: I was struggling with hunger most of the time too. I had a lot of gas and was always expelling gas, thank goodness it was during the right times when I was alone. LOL. But I ended up increasing my omeprazole, taking gas x, extra strength, and Lactaid, in addition to increasing my fluid intake which I drink a lot of low calorie Gatorade diluted with water. I find that when I drink a lot of fluids and take my arsenal of above listed pills, to my surprise, I'm not really that hungry. Most of the time, my hunger is head hunger which means I'm thinking about some kind of food I love. I am not hungry, just my old thinking kicks in place. When I eat the treat in my head, it doesn't taste as good as I thought it was. So I am constantly reminding myself that I am having head hunger and that I don't need it anyways. this happens to me when I'm bored, having to do something I don't want to do, or feeling depressed. So now I've taken up to exercising. In fact I need to go walking when I'm done with my reply to you. BTW, you have done a great job with your weight loss! CONGRATS! Hope you have more energy and take care. I'm on a healthy eating pattern for life. -
Pretty Excited About This Product I Foung
Ms skinniness replied to TheNewSusie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In response to Oregondaisy's response, she is 100% right! I only want to put the highest quality of nutrients into my body to help my body function better. I don't have room for a lot of junk. Went to "GLADSTONES" yesturday and there specials were mostly wild caught fish, except for the Salmon. I really wanted the Salmon, but it was farm raised. I so wanted that Salmon but had to chose Wild Caught Tuna! So disappointed. I ended up eating 1/2 small tomato with a little tuna. It was good, but I was so set on Wild Salmon. Nothing but the best for this tummy. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Ms skinniness replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
reallyrosy: I really love my sleeve. I talked to my PCP and he told me that I eat smaller portions but still need to be careful of what I eat. he's absolutely right, I got in a habit for a couple of weeks eating 3 mini hersey's bars and then I got dehydrated and they drew blood and I asked if they would test my A1C level for blood glucose and they did. My A1C had climbed from a 6.0 to a 6.3. It should have went down. So I really don't mind eating just healthy foods because I feel so much better anyways. I love my skinniness(I know it's not a word, but I love it anyways) and wouldn't trade it for anything. The word diet has a negative connotation to us due to our past. But now I look at diet as the way I will be eating for the rest of my live. Yep, I do love my sleeve! Hope things start turning around for you too. I intend to honor my sleeve every day. -

While your focusing on something that isn't going to happen, you are missing out on today. I would start by focusing on starting healthier eating habits and increasing your exercise for now. -

Super Saturday Weigh In
Ms skinniness replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Today is such a successful weigh in. I am finally, and I mean, finally in my 140's! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I officially weighed in at 149.1 this morning. I am so happy. I will have to remember not to jump on the scale until next Saturday so I don't see any bounce. That is basically a 1 lb loss since last week. I'll take it. -

My First Disclosure...
Ms skinniness replied to GivingItMyAll's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I told my family and bf and SIL and there she had told everyone else. Love the telephone line theory. My nephew asked me how I was losing my weight and my SIL told him I was eating healthy and I added in that I had WLS. I really don't care what people think. But if my story can help someone else, then why not share. It's my choice and boy am I really happy about it too! I love how I look and feel right now. -
Single Incision Sleeve Gastrectomy
Ms skinniness replied to Ready4success's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got 6 incisions and they weren't that bad. I can't imagine what 1 incision will look like but am very sure that incision site will end up in your belly button. -

Trying This Again!
Ms skinniness replied to CraftyV's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I could do this, so can you! This is the scariest thing you will ever do. This is a decision and unlike other surgeries that we had in the past, this one is scariest because we don't know the reality of how effective this procedure is for losing weight. We have all lost weight in the past just to gain it back and felt like a complete failure. This time it will be different! You might be a little slower to drop the weight, but you will and you will enjoy your new found skinniness when you get to goal. I love my skinniness and will always watch what I eat. Still have to eat a healthy diet, but that's ok, I have my new found skinniness that keeps me going. -
Non-Food Rewards?
Ms skinniness replied to GeauxForIt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really want to take a trip some where. I'm all most there! -
I know it's really hard, but to get your metabolic rate to speed up, you really need to take in some calories. Look at food as energy for your body to help you function more normally.

Loose Tops Or Tight?
Ms skinniness replied to thinmymind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They might be tight now! But not for long! My bra didn't really matter as much as my pants. I didn't want the waist band to rub against my incision sites. -

Not Feeling So Well
Ms skinniness replied to jewels1227's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The hardest part of this journey is getting in liquids. It is work. I wake up in the Am and I'm dehydrated even when drinking alot of fluid the day before. So I just keep drinking. I have the same feedback from my body for hunger or thrist so I try to drink first, then after 20 minutes I might eat something. When hydrated, I'm not really hungry. Keep up the hard work! -
Lesson Learned The Last 2 Nights..
Ms skinniness replied to crazyrai's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You still need to sip your tylenol with cod. Take it slowly and you will be fine. We all learn our lessons the hard way.
