BTW, this is totally normal to be freaking out and second guessing ourselves. -
Ok, I Am Starting To Freak Out.
Ms skinniness replied to hm734's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually, my skinniness has given me some more confidence. I have a really good life with a loving husband that loved me at 223 lbs. I have wonderful children that are grown up and some wonderful loving rescue pets that love me to death! I also was contemplating this procedure but pushed for it because I had crossed the line of pre-diabetic to diabetic. I had decided that I wanted to be healthier, and that I really didn't need to eat a lot of food. Since the surgery, my blood sugar is within goal and my cholesterol is pretty much at normal. I have so much more energy to give to my family and other now. I am still the same person I was before losing the weight. I love my skinniness and would have the surgery again in a heart beat. It is a big adjustment to make, my biggest struggle is drinking water. It is such a hard job. But it is worth it! I hope you make the best decision for you. -
Can't wait for u guys to join us. It is really hard to ne patient. I Jusy kept busy and celebrated the end of the old me and started making changes to healthier eating habits and exercising more. I worked at not thinking about how scared I was. I told myself I will be fine.

Ms skinniness replied to Animallover77357's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It won't help to worry about, see how it goes and see if it shrinks. If it doesn't then talk to ut surgeon. Don't let him out of ur room until ur satisfied with his answer. Don't be afraid to Speak up it's important! U can do this. -

Too Much Scar Tissue For Vsg?!
Ms skinniness replied to gingersnap's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Char, I really don't want to ever eat 3/4's of a sandwich again. That sounds like too much food for my tummy! I remember the doc at our orientation saying that it would take an hour to eat 1/2 a sandwich. i remember calculating that out to be 5 bites. They also said we can only take a bite every 10 minutes. However, I struggle with eating this slow, so I'm constantly working on this. -
Thought I Could Trust My Husband!

Wow, your hubby is a total ****! He's not supportive of your decision to have surgery? He sounds like he's hasn't fallen very far from the apple tree. This would be a great time to seek marriage counseling so that he can be a better support to you and not sabotage your efforts to loss this excess weight. Just thoughts and recommendations for future successes in your life! -
Ensure sounds really good with only 5 grams of sugar!

Tsa Experience

Thanks Nancy, I just changed it the other day. -
Frozen yogurt and ensure has a lot of sugars. My surgeon and NUT advises against those because of the sugars and calories.

I'd be more concerned now that they would feel my saggy skin. LOL That is interesting though. I was told at the orientation that the titanium staples wouldn't trigger those devices when traveling. Now I know what to expect. -
Thought I Could Trust My Husband!

It's frustrating when our wishes are not taken into consideration. Did he say he was sorry? I would tell him how upset you are at him. However, now those people are going to be watching you become skinny, and loving your skinniness. -

Cody is sausage a soft ? I can't believe you ate all that at 10 days out. Too me, I wouldn't have been able to eat 1/4th of that amount. Please be careful you don't bust your sleeve open, your still healing. -

Interesting that you had trouble with the pronunciation of the "R." I also had speech therapy in school and could never get the correct pronunciation of button. LOL You do have a very calming voice. -
Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
Ms skinniness replied to SophieJaneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My DH took me, waited till the surgery was done and then went to work. I perferred it that way cause I used the Morphine pump to help me sleep. I slept pretty much the whole time, or else I would have escaped due to boredom. LOL I was fine, no problems whats so ever. -
Will you email me one @ dorrierobles2003@yahoo.com. Thanks

Back Home From Surgery

The first sip isn't really that painful, there's a little discomfort because the stomach is swollen. Just take very tiny sips. It will be fine. -
Comment My Doctor Made That I Worry A Little About- Maybe Don't Look At This If Pre-Surgery
Ms skinniness replied to CelticHarpist's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read where some feel like a Mac truck ran over them. But that's to be expected after a major surgery. the only part I found painful was getting up and down in the bed. That's because of the incision site. I took full advantage of my morphine pump so that I could sleep through my time at the hospital. I don't think I really needed it though. After leaving the hospital, it was no problem. Some people have even slept in his/her recliner. No worries, it will be worth it! -
It is frustrating to have to jump through so many hoops to get this procedure, but well worth it. Congrats!

Protein drinks from grocery stores typically have too much sugar. I drink the Premier shakes from Costco.
