Whats Better Sleeve Or Ru En Y?
Ms skinniness replied to got2bthin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Patrick. Since having this surgery I have not had any migraines. Yay! My surgeon told me that there are not a lot of studies done but people with wls are reporting that with wls, they're having a decrease to none in HA's. Now I did watch Dr Oz and he was dividing up a cadaver and heade a statement about fatty tissue in the brain that affects our cognitive abilities. My doc said it's like endocjephsis it makes since. I'm so happy I have a skinny brain now. No HA's works great for me. -

I too am focusing more on veggies and trying to get more fresh fruit in. I go down a couple of pounds and then up a couple of pounds. It is what it is and thank you for the compliment on my pick. -
Beware:bowel Movement Question!
Ms skinniness replied to Cobrargc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not advisable to add berries to your diet due to the seeds getting trapped in you stapleline and causing infections. -

Water...the Musical.
Ms skinniness replied to Marty McSkinnystein's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is hard to get the water in the beginning. You have to sip, sip, sip, and sometimes it causes a little discomfort. Not much, but some. It does go away and with time, it does get better. At 8 months out I am able to take 4 big swallows with no problem. But I am afraid to push it. -

U will do fine. All the things you mention are concerning, but I have had no problems with anything so far. The things I can do is ride a bike. Go walking! Sway when the wind blows me. I can gulp Water. I can buy really cute cloths for my skinny body now. And they are so cute. I am more confident. Oh I can't do a tough mudder though! Those people are tough! Actually I can, but I chose not too. LOL These are all important things that change our life for good.

Give Me Your Thoughts Please....having Complications
Ms skinniness replied to needachange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get it fixed any way you can! If it's the gastric bypass, then that it is. You don't need to be suffering anymore. It is kinda scary the thought of just cutting it out. -
My Journey So Far With Kaiser
Ms skinniness replied to MonkeyNurse's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Chrysallis: I started with a low BMI and I have done really well losing my weight. I had my surgery through Kaiser in OC and the surgeon wasn't concerned whether I had a weight gain or not. In fact they were more concerned I didn't meet the criteria for surgery with a lower BMI. It worked out for me, I had diabetes and high chloresterol. So I really know that you are in good hands. CONGRATS! -

Food Not Interesting Anymore
Ms skinniness replied to twistedkitten25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You have a lot of head hunger...... this is the worst, and at 8 months post op, I am learning more about my head hunger. It is really hard to get it under control at times. I try to just have a little of it if possible, but I don't really need it, I'm not hungry, but my head in ruminating on a certain food. It never really tastes as good as I remember it to taste. There are times when I just don't loose any weight to at 4 weeks out. My stomach was still somewhat swollen and plus there's the stall that happens around this time. It's your body needed to adjust itself in size. It will happen, and you will loose a lot more weight, and you will have more stalls. No problem, you will get there. Eat healthy, Protein, protein, and fluids. Maybe some veggies too. Keep the carbs low and Proteins lean. Make sure your taking your Vitamins. -
Self Destructive Behaviors
Ms skinniness replied to aleach0003's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really like that your looking at this behavior. If you have a compulsion to buy that crap, then when you get home, throw it in the trash and have a healthy snack like fresh fruit or a protein drink. You can do this. It is really important that you seek therapy to help with this compulsion. In therapy, you can learn new coping skills to deal with your triggers to eat crap! BTW, go through your house and trash all unhealthy food ASAP. Get on a path of healthy eating and become compulsive about that. you can do this, you just need some extra help from a professional. -
Can you call the patient advocate? the squeaky wheel gets serviced much quicker. I'd keep calling them every day if I have to so that they get so annoyed, they will call and find out what the hold up is. Better yet, try calling your surgeon and ask him. because the bottom line is, $$$$$. Keep at emmmmm!

Pain After Surgery
Ms skinniness replied to wannaskydive2013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The only pain I felt was when getting in and out of bed. But if you use your legs to scoot getting up and down, there is very little pain. BTW, it's mostly discomfort. -
Sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the info. BTW, I went out an bought (ebay actually) some really awesome beautiful dessert plates and bowls that are just the perfect size. Helps me with portion control. Also, I will eat while on the computer and try to take mindful bites when eating. It's really difficult when eating with family. They eat so fast and such hugh portions.

Is It Ok To Say I Am Really Scared?--Rambling
Ms skinniness replied to Texarkolina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's really hard to be dependent on others. It friend doesn't feel great about letting u down but is also s ares for herself right now. She might not be emotionally available and would ne a disservice to I and ur toddler. I would talk with her daughter about helping u after the surgery. Maybe pay her for helping. This is just a bump in the road and u will make it. -

Maybe Broke My Stall?
Ms skinniness replied to MKambalimath's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will get to your goal and that's all that matters. The best way to reach goal is to stick to eating proteins, proteins, proteins, and veggies as much as possible. Keep the cars really low and avoid bringing any junk food into the house. If it's not in the house then you won't eat it. If other family members are bringing it home, sit down with time an ask them to help you in your weight loss by not bringing those foods home. You can do this and the weight will fall off.
