Skin Changes!
Ms skinniness replied to Imperfectlyperfect's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe it's because we're eating a healthier diet, drinking more water and not taking in a toxic substance called sugar. Sugar is toxic and attacks our organs in so many different ways. I love eating healthy most days and I have so much more energy. my skin is clear, but I do have some lose skin that i don't like. It's like a muffin top! Yuck! But it's better than having 77 lbs back on! -
Finally Made It! 100.1 Lbs Down :)

CONGRATS! Dancing with you in the moonlight! Cheers! -
You are doing great! It could just be water weight. If at all possible, you might increase your protein intake. Just a little might help. Try not to get frustrated and remember you just had surgery 2 weeks ago and a 23 lb weight loss is awesome! Be kind to yourself. It's too early to worry about how much you've loss!

Hi Michelle, When did you have your surgery? I am also 56 yo and I avoid sugars like the plague. Yesterday I had some M&M Peanut Butter and I kept craving sugar. So I have to get back on track and eat Protein, protein, protein and veggies. Are you able to get in your Water (64oz)? That helps flush your system out pretty good too. LilMissDiva has a Basic Bootcamp that she does and has shared it on this site that is fantastic to get us off our sugar habits and triggers more weight loss.

Scared I Will Resent My Husband For Treating Me Differently After....
Ms skinniness replied to Nikki613's topic in The Gals' Room
This is scary to actually get more positive attention from your loved ones. It sounds like you had put on weight without being conscious of some underlying issues and it would be important to get some therapy to address these issues or else it will sabotage your progress in weight loss and keeping it off. Therapy will give you the tools to avoid these pitfalls. Just like Meg said, you will be much happier and feel much sexier, and yes, he is going to change the way he is towards you, because he will be happy that your happier too. Let us know how your doing. -
CONGRATS! Slow will win the race. There's really no need to rush, take the time and you most likely will have less loss skin in the end! So it's a no lose situation.

Can't Give Myself A Break
Ms skinniness replied to ppatterson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG! you have just begun your journey. You do have a swollen tummy and probably have water weight to boot from the IV drips. This is not a race, it is a marathon. You will loose the weight, it just takes time. I really wouldn't waste any time on focusing on a possible failure to lose weight, because it's not a failure. Your body is different. You can not fail at losing, It will happen. It will take some time, just like putting on the weight. Just follow the diet and take it day by day. Really focus on not weighing yourself and being thankful for having this wonderful tool. Oh, and make sure you are not putting a toxic drug like sugar in your body! Drinks lots of liquids and keep yourself from getting dehydrated. Try a little protein shake if you can. I love the Premier Shakes from Costco or Sam's Club. This will happen. Focus on healing and walking and before you know it, the weight will go down. This will work. -

Heat Tolerance - Question For Post-Sleevers
Ms skinniness replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Before surgery I was always hot. My face did get red but I really didn't sweat that much. Since surgery, I pretty much always cold. I don't realize how hot it is unless I see a therometer either. I do get hot at night so I have to take the blanket off for a few moments and then I get cold and cover up. I like it though. I use to be a pain in the a&& due to being too hot and wanting to turn on the air conditioner. Now, I haven't had any problems. -

Help, I Think I Hurt Myself
Ms skinniness replied to TLC223's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gosh! My surgeon wouldn't let us pick up anything over 10 lbs for at least 8 weeks. If the pain doesn't go away, then maybe you could go to the urgent care or ER. It could be something serious like a leak. Have a wonderful guy move all the heavy stuff. -
Am I Losing Enough?
Ms skinniness replied to HondaCivicDude's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The way I see it is that after surgery your stomach had a trauma. It takes time for your stomach to heal. My surgeon's office put us on a 3 week liquid diet, 2nd 3 weeks was a pureed diet, 3rd 3 weeks was a mushie stage diet and then anything was game. I think it it would benefit you to get rid of the carbs, find a protein shake that you like with minimum sugar and focus on getting nothing but protein in. Yes, I know, it's really hard, but it is doable. Eat foods that are really soft and moist. Try fish, eat some peanut butter. Keep it very low carb and you will start to burn weight really fast. Hope this helped. -
My NUT saids that all the protein drinks that are sold in grocery stores has a lot of sugar and to avoid them at all cost. I drink Premier shakes from Costco and Sam's club. I hear Walmart has them too.

Has Anyone Ever Regretted Having Surgery? Be Honest?
Ms skinniness replied to Karen2012's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The only thing I would worry about right now is getting in more fluids. I'm not a doctor, but this sounds very typical of dehydration. I try to get in more than 65 oz a day and if I don't I get HA and dizzy and that's because I'm dehydrated. It also plays on my energy level as well. Don't worry about gallbladder, it's too soon for that. Focus on drinking your water with some low calorie Gatorade. It will make you feel better. -

Did your surgeon or NUT give you a dietary plan to follow? These classes were very informative and has helped me a lot. -

Your doing good. Your losing weight and that's what counts. Benjamin gave some good tips. But remember, everyone loses at a different rate. Take it 1 day at a time and keep it high protein always. Make sure u get in all your water and exercise will help. -
Feel Like Nothing Is Digesting Today

Well this sounds like a dilemma. Has it been 30 minutes so you can drink some water to get it moving? Drink lots of fluid. It will move. -
