I was given a 2 week diet & just told to eat healthy. To reduce my carbs, heavier on the protein, lower sodium etc. I did start drinking a protein drink for breakfast every day & often had one for lunch as well. Just to get into the habit of getting more protein in. Then 3 days pre-op I did have a liquid diet.

Definitely talk with your regular dr to see he/she will see you when you get back. You will need routine follow ups, like bloodwork done. I told my regular Dr & she freaked out putting MX down & saying she could not offter me the support needed when I got back. So I changed Drs! I am now very happy with my regular Dr & she will do my bloodwork, check my incisions at the same time etc. I was sleeved by Dr Kelly & had nothing but a fantastic time with my surgery itself & my experience in Mexico. Dr Garcia is very good too, he was my 2nd choice.

How Much Liquids A Day Should I Be Getting In? 6 Days Post Op
NJsharon replied to NJsharon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, the support meetings are open to anyone that has had sleeve, bypass or band. I actually had my surgery in Mexico, but attend the meetings. If you wanted to come you are welcome, just probably a drive for you! Next one is on Wed May 23rd at 7pm. If you are interested then let me know (you can send me a PM) & I will give you the address. I have been drinking G2 also. My Dr just told me Gatorade, did not tell me a specific kind though. Today by accident I picked up some regular Gatorade, so will use those 2 bottles up (just small bottles) then back to G2 again. I didn't want that much sugar either, as they are carbs! -
I was told caffeine was allowed for me after 1 week post op. Personally I was addicted to caffeine though... either diet coke or coffee. So not going to go back to that & stick to de-caf coffee from now on. Also was told no soda post-op, so sticking to that!

Okay, have added everyone that requested to be my friend. If anyone else wants to be added, just send me a friend request on facebook, by searching for me (Sharon Ivanauskas). Then also post here or send me a message on here, if you could, to let me know you are a may sleever. Thanks!

Yes, I also found warm liquids went down better than cold liquids. Especially those first few days after surgery.

Did You Or Are You Keeping Your Sleeve A Secret?
NJsharon replied to letsdothis!!!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jaspersgirl, I do find that a little strange too, but yes, I guess each to their own. Personally I wouldn't lie & if someone openly asked me I would tell them the truth. -
Did You Or Are You Keeping Your Sleeve A Secret?
NJsharon replied to letsdothis!!!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have told obviously my hubby, my mum, my brother & about 6 friends so far. I have just been telling friends as it comes up. Part of me wants to tell everyone on facebook. But then I worry what people will think, or if they will be watching all the time to see how much weight I lose. -
Thanks for the reminder MIchelle, just added you to the group on facebook! Still have 10 friend requests left & don't know who these people are! PLEASE post here with your name (you can just give me your first name) OR message me on here to let me know you are a may sleevie!

The Unjury Unflavored Is Disgusting
NJsharon replied to Anewlifeforme23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you made a powdered Protein Drink, can you just add a scoop of the unflavored Protein Powder to it too? To add more Protein? I have the Chike banana & Chike strawberry which I liked pre-op. Yet to have them post-op. But wondering if I could boost them up a bit by adding more protein powder, then shake it up?? -
Okay, got you Kristeen! Added you to the group! Still have a lot of friend requests (about 8) & no idea if they are may sleevers. Do I add them to the group anyway?

Incisions Question - Bandaids On Or Not?
NJsharon posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery in Mexico & when I left they cleaned them & put bandaids on them. My post op instructions say to shower daily & pat the incisions dry. So does that mean I should take the bandaids off then? Did you have bandaids on your incisions or were they 'open'? -
What Week Were You Able To Eat Normal Food?
NJsharon replied to B~Happy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just sleeved on 5/10 so not near solids yet. My surgeon says Day 29 I can start regular food & obviously just chew, chew, chew & try one thing at a time in case it disagrees with me. Right now I am on liquid diet & cannot wait until I add in purees/mushies. About 2 more weeks until I can do that! -

Incisions Question - Bandaids On Or Not?
NJsharon replied to NJsharon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah, my incisions have steristrips on them, so they are shut. But wondering if they should be open from the bandaid now? Thanks! -

Good luck, will pray for you! -
Okay added you Aris! I didn't get your private message though, weird.

Cool Michelle, just friend me on facebook then & I will look for your name. If you search for Sharon Ivanauskas I should pop up, then friend me, then I will add you to the group!
-
Okay, I have 8 requests with no messages. Do I just accept them & add them to the May 2012 Sleevers group? They were all within the past 24 hours, so presuming they are May sleevers. What says the majority?

Got you too Kristy!

Got you too Crystal!

Thanks Tara, added you! I still have about 8 people that have friend requested me just in the past 24 hours, but no note that they are may sleevers. Can you please post on here your name, so I know you are a may sleever, or PM me on here, or message me on facebook?

Well done & welcome to the loser's bench!

Actually not tired, but I do feel hungry. But think it is head hunger as when I drink a bit of fluids I feel full.
-
You guys are lucky, I am still on clear fluids, until Sunday (10 days post-op) & then I can add in Protein shakes. Then another 2 weeks before I can add in mushies/purees!! My head is definitely hungry. Been craving chinese noodles & pizza today! lol
