Finding a Primary Care Physician in NYC
PinkInTheCity posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Sleevers! I have a question for anyone in the New York area: Can anyone suggest any bariatric-surgery friendly doctors in the city? Unfortunately, I've had a lot of negative feedback as I've been searching for a primary care doctor in the city: a lot of eye rolling, judgement, and smug faces as they react to my telling of my surgery in December of 2011. I'm tired of it and just want to find a doctor that supports what I've gone through, and go on to become my primary care physician. I was away from the city for a couple of years since surgery and now that I'm back and settling my life here, I'd like to find a friendly PCP to stick with. **I'd prefer an office anywhere in midtown for an easy commute from work..but if its a great doctor, I frankly don't care** THANK YOU <3-

wow...ive been struggling with this for about a year now. i cant help but feel even guilty sometimes when people say i look great..because i know i cant answer honestly when they ask me, how'd you do it ! I'm so glad i came on this thread, because now i don't feel like the only one. I'm knocking on 22 and young people just have no idea the severity of obesity-related health issues enough to understand why I chose the surgery. My close family members, and 3 of my best friends know. I got my surgery December of 2011 and i was just wondering, how do you guys deal with going out to eat or having dinner around people you don't know? it's been my largest challenge...i've avoided lunch dates, dinner dates, and i just wanna know how others cope with it.

Mind me , but I need to vent. I'm young, part of VSG in your 20s; I took my final exams on this damn Clear liquids diet, took them all earlier than my classmates, so I had less time to study so I can come home early and have my surgery. It took a lot of mental preparation, and I was so excited as I walked in the hospital doors this morning...as I hand in my papers sitting in the surgery office...my doctor calls and reschedules my surgery...to the 20th. Merry Xmas to me DISCLAIMER I know its only 5 more days, and I'm still excited, and I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, so I'm taking advantage of this time to truly prepare for the surgery mentally and emotionally...but I just needed to vent Ahem, Thanks for reading

Pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery Worries
PinkInTheCity replied to PinkInTheCity's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Thank you all for the quick responses! I'm checking out GNC tomorrow to see if theres something that tickles my fancy. Also I am calling my doctors office first thing in the morning to see what he recommends I should be doing right now! xoxo -
Hi Everyone, So I'm new to this but my surgery is soon (December 15th) and after reading some of these posts, I'm starting to freak out! From what I remember I was not given a diet to follow preceding the surgery, but it seems like everyone was given one..so now I'm worried, has anyone else worked with Dr. Teixeira in the city? Also, could anyone give me any shakes that I can find at a GNC that I could use to try out and see if i like? Excited to talk to you all
