I don't know about your endo but I think this doc's got smarts, throid meds are not to be messed with MPO..It just feel like your going to the ends of the earth for anwsers. I wish i could be at airport with you. Been so busy but thinking about U

I'm still in shock Kelly, it's gone! Ya after 5 days id be pissed off too I remember your PM asking about your sister and a leak. I have a small band and i feel/don't feel restriction. Ive come to just eat and feel the food go to the band through and sometimes pain...I truly believe band size has a lot to with each person now that i've experienced both sizes. But the bigger size was harder to loose with. I really hurt for you, I know you will be stong and you won't let the demon come back. Best blessing to you Kelly

So back in January I started taking Paxil (only 6mg) then 3 weeks later I thought I'm fine I didn't need it. Then just last weekend I started getting depressed and have anxioty so I decided to start taking it again and I noticed I sleeped all night even when I woke up to go pee, I fel asleep within minutes. That didn't happen last week...I was taking benatril... It all makes sense! I'm not crazy

My DD Roxanne is 8 and has asked several questions which I try and anwser truthfully without going into detail. BUT it’s coming to that time where I’ll need to be specific. With all the smart people I’ve come to read and get to know here, any suggestions on books or approach would be appreciated. When the time comes I want to as ready for her, my mom wasn’t for me and I pretty much learned stuff from school… I’ve also notice her starting to develop in the last year and can’t believe it’s happening so young. In my research I’ve heard of girls that are progressing younger and starting their cycles at even 9 years old due to the hormones in most of our foods. I have changed to organic foods as much as possible hoping to slow the growth as well as a better diet.

Opinions Please - Do I need another fill?
Vera replied to lljpaisley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Then my suggestion is no, I don't think you need a fill, if so very small. You are doing great, 48lbs is wonderful, keep up the good work. -
Robyn, we must be neighboors. Do you get deer, foxes, skunks, racoons and varmits in general? and my favorite buzzards! Cute dog.

Great responses gals! I knew Id get some good info here. Jenna, you busted me up. Slumber stuff is for me. But I did look into getting a book, not so much for Rox but for me. I’m a detail freak and have to get my facts right. I don’t think I’ll be sharing books with her just yet, unless I get good graphics? I'm tring Paula, I did read before you edited? And timing is everything for instance, about 2 years ago Rox and I were wishing on a chicken wish bone and I won. She asked what I wished for but I told her I can’t tell you or my wish won’t come true but I said a long time ago I wished for you and my wish came true. Her reply “ya daddy planted the seed, did you swallow it?” well I thought for a moment and said yes. Because if I would have said no I’d have to explain, and I didn’t think she was quite ready. We do talk and a few things have happen that are interesting. She was watching Spiderman when the 2 on the movie kissed she said to me I feel tingles in my bottom. I said that’s kind of what love feels like… One time I directed her to take a shower, when she undressed I noticed little stickers on her nipples; I chuckled and asked what were they doing there? She was very apologetic but I was more interested in where, why, who, did she get this idea from, she claimed nowhere. I don’t what to seem like anything is wrong or even bad, just aware. Cindy sorry to hear about her painful pelvic area, I hope she's alright.Rox is about 77 lbs. and a training bra might be in the near future, I like the sports bra idea. Bummer learning about life Vines; I felt a bit the same way. I knew from school that a girl gets her period but it didn’t sink in. Then one day my sister and I were at the park and I needed to go to the restroom. Well I was in shock I came out of the bathroom and told my sister that there was blood coming out of me and she laughed and laughed then practically told the world I got my period. Darcy, I can remember my niece screaming EEEWWW when her mom was telling her were it go’s many years ago... and now shes 5 monthes pregnant. I like the animal approach especially giving birth. Thanks for the book ideas. Rox and I spend alot of time together, I think she'll take it well

Very emotional about decision to get banded
Vera replied to free101girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a heart felt tread and welcome new comers, Mary, Paula and Liamaroo! Just a view from someone who’s been banded 2 and ½ years. Your not alone, the mind does not shut down. Denial and fear that it won't work was my main worry pre-band. I love to cook and eat too (now I just can’t eat as much and that’s the trick) This tool will work if you want it to. please stop beating yourself up. You are not stupid. You are not lazy. You will/are a successful person. "I could still try another diet" I am on a diet, I don’t use the word around my kids and I hate the word but I try to watch everything I eat and what I feed my kids, sure we had ice-cream last night. 1/3 less sugar low fat slow churns… "I will feel so stupid if I die on the operating table" This is one of the safest surgeries for weight loss. "Will I ever be able to unconsciously chew thoroughly, or will I think of it every single time I eat?" I do think about every thing I eat and chew. If I eat too fast, it will come back up or give me extreme pain going down. This has been called the thinking person’s weight loss plan (surgery) "Will the scars be hideous? (Moreso than my stretch marks? ha!) Well every one heals differently and I happen to have many scars on my abdomin. I have seen others with tiny lines for scars. I do feel healthier, I have more energy and people are treating me better. I have a hard time with people and how they treat those with weight issues. I try to treat everyone equal and smile to complete strangers regardless of weight. I’ve been seeing a shrink lately due to depression and anxiety. She has said that I’m very complex and I want to be taken care of. I (WE) need to take care of ourselves because nobody's going to. -

In need of the cheapest safest lap band
Vera replied to dannygirl31's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Check out Dr. McKeen at www.southbaybariatrics.com His main office is in San Jose Calif. but flies his cash patients to his office in Utah for banding due to the hospital cost being cheaper in Utah. I believe the total cash cost is about 14,500. Be presistant with your calls there they have been very busy. PM if you want more info. and good luck! -
Hi Anthony The best to you! I was banded 8/14/03 and live about 40 miles from SF. If I had to have my band removed I would get the VG also. Keep us updated!!

My sister could use some prayers today. Her daughter, Karen 21, my neice, slipped in the shower and was found by a waiting freind (they go to college together) that said she was in the shower too long. After calling 911 they tried to resuscitate her for over an hour with no luck. My niece who I just saw 2 weeks ago at a wedding, sat right next to me at the dinner. She knew about my band and we spoke often about WLS. I told her about Sue and her DS surgery as well. Karen was about 280lbs and maybe 5’2. We don’t know exactly how she died and is having an ortopsy. I will be missing for awhile and ask for those who pray to keep my sister Helga in your thoughts, she’s devastated. I’ll let you all know more later and thank you for your love and support.

I'm so glad for you Gwen.I truly believe the right band has to fit the person. Darcey there are 3 different Inamed bands that I'm aware of. The VG, the 9.75 and the 10. I also heard rumor of a smaller VG type but can't confirm that yet. Jonathan, good luck with your decision, this is good research.
