Kathy I remember before I had my gallbladder out that I was suffering ulcerative colitis. The doctors kept saying "your pancreas is pissed off you should get your gallbladder removed" and I was not Diabetic. They did blood tests weekly. I waited 4 months before I had it removed. At the time I was in more pain with my colitus issues that I just op to have it removed without questioning any further. Please do keep us posted.

I would op to have your Gull-bladder removed at the same time as placing your band. My history is a C-section 11/97, Gull-bladder removed 03/00, Colon removed 05/00, C-section 07/01, Band placement 08/03. The reason I show my surgery history is that I can take surgeries well in general, some people can not. My scars from gull bladder removal are with-in 1/4 inch from Lap-band scars. Does your doctor intend to wait for your scars to heal to then cut approx. right on top of them to place your band. With my C-sections as well the doctor cut right over the previous scar. I know scars are not the issue, and everyone heals differently. I have a friend who had a c-section then 3 days later had her tubes tied because her insurance would not let her have it done at the same time(I had my tubes tied right after my baby was delivered). If there are other risks, illnesses involved everything has to be taken into consideration. Personally I would have them done together, and have heard of others who have had Gull-bladders removed at the same time as placing a band. As I see on the date you may have allready been in surgery. Good luck and keep us posted

I'm struct in a rut too "Any ideas on what to satisfy my sweet-tooth, and by the way, it's also the mouth-feel of the chewing and the texture of the bad stuff that I like so much. I don't really want to replace one binge food with another, but I need something guilt-free." So with YA! The one thing I do know is "I don't eat half as much as I use to....If that I relate, love your story,.inspiration ...you are:cool:

Wow 8 lbs. on shrimp I'v been eating fish, shrimp, sushi...probably too much. I'm starting to think that my cycle has alot to do with plateaus. For the last 3 months I've noticed a 5 lb drop right after my cycle. Isn't it exciting to be close to Oneder-Land. Keep up the good work

Congratulations:D Up and around by the weekend is do-able especially walking, absolutely no lifting...driving is questionable. Everybody is soooo different, It's time for healing, don't over-do-it. You could have pain from the incisions, gas, or side effects from the anesthesia. I did OK on the liquid diet (for 1 week) but have read of others having a hard time. I can understand you being nervous, I myself was quite calm and singing to the nurses, I couldn't wait to be banded. Welcome to the Forum

Hey Gabby I see from another post: You just got a fill. Well I have trouble with chicken but have read that others have trouble with fish even salmon. This fickle band we have, each day is different. Next week you might try your Hoddock(which sounds delish')and have no problem. Then the following week, no way... Sometimes after your stoma gets a bit swollen from something you ate or if you were to PB, you may need a bit of time to relax it. Good luck...welcome to restriction

Hi Karen I flew to Mexico on a wednesday, surgery on thursday, flew back home on saturday and was back to work the following monday. Those first few days back at work were not busy. I can remember standing up and having discomfort. I don't think standing for long periods of time for a least a week post surgery is a good idea. Maybe a tall rolling chair would help. It's a time for healing. Congratulations

One-other suggestion...Do Not lay down directly after taking pills(even cut in half), I've had them lodged and it's very painful.

Brandi My neighboor has an endless pool, His is about 25 feet long, 10 feet wide. Sits above ground kind-of like a dough-boy. What makes it "endless" is one very powerfull adjustable jet that you can swin into. Its like swimming in place.

Dawnsunshine I'm so EXCITED for you too. I have 2 small children also. Besides haveing a lapband for my health I did it for my kids future.
