Yes... Of course after healing time. I'm about 8 mo's out and have a small salad every day. Mine are chopped small so I don't have to chew alot and I throw in alot of beans...garbonzo's and kidney for protien. It's also a great source of fiber! The only time I had trouble with salads was when I was very tight after a fill. Even today I take a few bites(get hiccups)wait, then continue slowly. Dressing is a lubricant, helps it go down. Salad is the one thing I have to have. Start with small amounts.

Thanks for letting us know whats going on.... You know I've been watching your journey as well as may others and we're concerned. I'm glad your not struggling with a big fill. Congrats on getting into size 16's! Don't buy too many new clothes. Before you know they'll be too big. Mark my words....3 monthes ago I was in 16's and last week I got 2 pairs of stretch 12 Lee Capris(tight but fit)....I believe the body compacts. It seem like alot of us get platues, 2 weeks not 1 lb down then boom 3 lbs down in 2 days. Even every day is different. Last week I had ribs, last night they wouldn't go down. Slow but steady is going to be my motto. Go out and strut them pants:D

Your sooo cute! I'm 5' 5&1/2" started at 244...we're about the same starting. Its a great idea to start your websight now. I wouldn't let anyone take pic of me before surgery, I wish I would have. Good luck with all you pre-op stuff. -
Congratulations Thanks for your knowledge and insights.

Chantel It was over a year ago when my PCP decided to test me for diabetes and the test result showed borderline thyroid. I had more blood tests done and went to a specialist who said I had to lose weight and wouldn't put be on meds. That's about the time I learned about the Band. Thyroid should be watched closely, and I'm glad you are doing so. Hopefully you should see a change in you weight soon. Good luck with your new fill.

Hi Rohanna I have an AMI...Swedish AGB. I love my band An AMI is (11mm) which is taller then an Inamed band. Total capacity is 9.7cc's. I'm at 5.7cc's since 1-23-04 and seem to be filled just right. I might have a kink in my tubing, but won't know till I have my next fill which will be done under floroscopy. I'm still restricted so it will be awhile before I get my next fill. Welcome to the forum

Congratulation:cool: I knew you where getting tweaked when you wrote......I'm planning on going with my band twin to her fill appointment tomorrow and I too have an appointment...I'm going to talk with the PA who does our fills and see what she thinks...it just sucks that my only day off after working 6 days I have to waste on a 4 hour drive to Milwaukee and back...oh well! I would have too. Just curious, What did your PA say.. If your too tight will you have some removed? (I don't think that'll happen) Whats your total fill amount? ONEderland:banana

Vera replied to syber's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations to both of you! Thanks for letting us know how you are and welcome to bandland. -
Welcome and WOW Congratulations on such a wonderful weightloss! Please tell us more..How many fills you have? Some problem foods? Did you have others to compare with and support in your journey? Got any pics?

Julie In the case of Fill doctors...Many will not touch NON-Inamed bands. When doing your research for a fill dr, ask If they will fill any type of band? You may want to demand an Inamed band for this reason. I have an AMI (swedish) band and am very happy with it, but have heard of others haveing problems finding a fill doctor. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Donali I always enjoy reading your posts...and everyone else's too... Just the other day I was trying to explain the band to a friend and her responses was "Its a LIFE-style change" exactly I said. I have gotten the comment "When will you have the band removed?" My response "Never, Its for life" (At least I hope it is) Which brings up something I read stating that the band should be replaced in about 10-12 years? Has anyone heard of this? Leo Congrats again!

If your fills are free and you have them done under fluoroscopy then I would be curious to see a barium flow, how tight you really are? I myself think I'm about right cause I can eat small amounts without PBs but I'm also at a plateau. If your fills are free or your have the $$ I'd go for a tweak, just be careful. But you know that.

WTG Leo I read your "Daily Blog" and I like the fact of the day "When your little stomach is full and the pouch stretches it activates nerves called baroreceptors (pressure)... Good info (leo's web site) Congratulations
