The difference between this band to my old band is like night and day! With my old band (AMI-Swedish) at 3 weeks post op I was starving. With this new band (Inamed 9.75), at 5 weeks I can barely eat 3 bites of tuna without feeling it. I feel restriction more than ever, I think it will some time before I even think of getting a fill. Not only are people different but the different size bands react different on the same person. I feel like I’m doing my own case study.

We bought our house that closed escrow on 12-21-01. On the TDS(Transfer Disclosure Statement) and the MLS(Multiple Listing Service) it was disclosed that we were on sewer. 6 months later we found out the hard way that we had a septic tank ...a bunch a sh*t floating around in our side/back yard. We were informed by the health dept. to get hook up to sewer cause we're on a lake, have a creek running through our land, and we didn't have enough land(1/2 acre) to put in a new leach field that had failed. Meanwhile, we contacted the realtor, Century 21, and asked what they knew...they never called back. In 4 years we have hired a lawyer, went through 3 mediations and 2 depositions. We were in a jury trial 11 working days with real-estate appraisers, the healthboard, forensic writing experts, plumbers and a civil engineer. All verdicts came in our favor. Century 21 was charged with failure to hold the utmost care as a fiduciary to the sellers and (dual agents) to the buyers, us. Century 21 was to blame 100% thus had to pay our attorney fees (200K) and the sellers attorney fees. We are approved with the city and county to hook up to sewer which will cost: 24K in permits/hook-up fees and 30K to have it installed. There was additional compensation awarded for future maintenance or problems totaling 83K. We did not get punitive damages, could not prove there was intentional fraud, that's OK. I have learned so much in the last 3 weeks. Read your contracts and get all your inspections, even if they're not required. We WON! :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana

Hi Patty My first band had a leak in the tubbing. Dr Sanchez and crew tried to fix it.. about 22 days later..the tube discontected. Dr. sanchez rebanded me. Which is very good for me. Dr McKeen was invovled, first with fills but also he did a flouro at Good Sam San Jose, CA that first noted the leak. I have a good Mex team and Calif team! I have a very long band history...I'm very well and happy with this current band best wishes to you
-
Hello Denise, Welcome to LBT I've known Dr McKeen for 18 months, I love him, very down to earth.

Sounds like "sweet to me." After 2 years and 2 different bands (this one is real tight) Inameds 9.75cm band is smaller than the AMI/swedish band. If you don't feel restriction ..get a fill. I'm haveing the hardest time chewing, everything feels like rocks going through.. My first band was good, but this band ROCKS. I love fruits and vegis..thats my roughf-emeat is very thick in the tummy Salad is a good thing!! Look at vit and nutition. Iron...I feel so happy to eat a salad. Restristion ... morning to night ...Lady., It does feel good

Hello I love that you know it's just a "tool" typical complete recovery times might be? Fire fighter, that's alot of work. I have a desk job and was back to back in three days. Please don't push it.
-
I sure remember that day....what fun we had. Is that one of the pics I took?
-
Everyone's got lots of good info here Meshawn. Please do relax and wait to see if this fill kicks in. Paula, I think what she's feeling is that the food isn't sitting in the pouch. Write me anytime

Thank You. We had bought some champane, forgetting about my band...I almost spewed. Penni, the ground breaking party will start May 16, bring your shovel. Tricia, Your right! It was such a dog fight. Big waste of money! 3 days before trial we had a manitory settlement conference, after 3 years of fighting, C21 offered us 75K without attorney fees. I was livid! The jury could never hear about this or all the medations we went through to get this resolved. Carol, I'm sorry I put you off a few times, thanks for understanding all the stress...Have a good trip and see you when you get back! Hey Alex, howd you know I have guns?

Dr. Sanchez in Mexico...Good or Bad??? Help
Vera replied to a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Cassie I LOVE Dr. Sanchez and his staff. I have nothing but great things to say about him. He has taken very good care of me. If I lived closer to Monterrey Mx. I would go there for my fills as well. Dr. Suesanna, his first assitant does the fills, she is the best fill doctor ever. The hospital (Santa Engracia) is modern, with state of the art equipment. I wish you the best and welcome to LBT. -
Meshawn, I was never double banded, just replaced. That was when I met you. This band is very well and tight. It's not going anywhere!!. This tread is a month old.

I went for a fluoroscopy fill this morning. Dr. McKeen accessed my port, not a problem. Proceeded to remove the pervious fill...nada, a few drops. puts 2 cc's in pulls out 1. Drink some Barium, I'm wide open. Puts 2 cc's in, drink some barium, still wide open...Hey lets go for 4cc's...wide open. Time for Contrast, you could see it going up even pass the sleeve (the hole that was fixed a month ago) then stop right before the band. So now I turn sideways and the x-ray machine goes in for a close-up starting at my port. Add more contrast, follow up the tubing. Big leak at the top of the sleeve, shooting out like your thumb on a hose. They took lots of pictures/films. I just can't believe it!! I walk out of the hospital and call Dr. Sanchez practically crying. He wants me back to Mx ASAP. I said I'm broke, and what are we going to do? Re-place the tubing. But what if the connection to the band starts leaking? Re-place the band, and the manufacture has to pay for everything, they'll even reimburse my flight. I'm so upset, I went out and had a chicken burrito and ate the whole thing. food got me into this mess. I know I'll be calling Dr. Sanchez back within a few days cause I have more questions. At this point I just want a new band even tho my current band looks great....Freakin tube leaks I might fly out on April 1st, I hate these 5 hour flights.. Thanks for letting me vent, I'll keep you posted.
-
Hi Rica As far as I know CJ medical paid for the surgery and replacement, due to the faulty tubing. I know that Dr. Sanchez did put up the charges and will file the claims with them. He takes care of his people.

Karla and Karen, I'm asuming you know I was re-banded. You can get part of the story on thread titled Thanks for your concerns and prayers!!!
-
Karla, I'm very well with my band, thank you. Still restricted going into week 4, that may be due to a court case I've been in for 10 working days now. Stress has a way of making my band tight, while just yesterday I had my first shreaded salad, today tuna is a problem.
