I'm not a doc and I don't know if it has anything to do with where your port is placed, but I had a kink at about the same place. Mine actully built up a leak in the fold of the kink. You can read my story if you search (top blue bar) under "kink". Long story short the kink (tubing) was cut out and a sleve was placed over, connecting the tubing together. It didn't work and a month later I was rebanded (for free). I recomend replacing the entire tubing from port to band, don't just have a repair/sleve preformed, my opinion. It's a small repair don't worry, out-patient procedure. Good luck and try and read some of my history...it's been about a year since it's all unfolded, no pun intended. I don't know of anyone else who's been though this, welcome to my club and please do keep me informed.

Michelle, You have such a good attitude, I would be devastated. I just feel like someone died. I wish the best for you and know you'll be fine. All these erosions just hurt me so much, your all so strong, I can only imagine the pain emotionaly.

I'm so sorry Jon, Have you talked to your doctor (Dr. Fass) about why he selected the band he did. Maybe they can reposition it? I have BC also and went to Mexico as well, when I had trouble and the leak in my band, Dr. Sanchez re-banded me at no charge. Please keep us informed. wishing you the best.

I so relate Trish. Last year I thought I was going nuts, I'd get a fill then a few days later, no restriction at all. My leak was in a kink fold of the tubing close to the port. I actully flew down to Monterrey MX becuace Dr. Sanchez insisted. He removed the section of tubing with the hole and placed a sleeve over of the tubing. During that fix he didn't charge me for his services but there was nurse and attended fees and it was preformed at a clinic as out patient. I paid about $250. They did pull out the port to get to the hole. Replaceing the port is much easier then the tubing. My fix didn't work and Dr. Sanchez replaced the band but that's another story entirely. Don't worry, you'll be good as new and you are not a failure. We all know the band has got to work as a proper tool. I like Rene's way of thinking. If it can be charged as a Hernia repair it's worth looking into.
