Congratulations Alexandra I know you don't often set goals exept to be healthy and happy. You Go Girl Yes I can add....the C's...cookies, chocolate, cheesecake and crab(not in that order) almost everyday for 3 weeks and not a pound of weight. With this great tool you can only eat so much, a nibble, thin slice, a bite and be satisfied! Last year with my leaky band I was gaining but not this year. I can only eat so much. I'd be happy to just stay here. Good luck!! I know you can do this

Thanks Alex...for this site, I'd be lost without it.

Hello Ruth (my middle name) My old band was an AMI-swedish band that was installed 8/14/03 by Dr. Sanchez. After about 6 months and 4 fills I had a flouro/X-ray check which revealed a kink in the tubing. Well I suspected a leak, then confirmed it over 6 months later in mex, cause Dr. Sanchez recomended I go see him. At that visit the tubing was repaired and I was given a 7cc fill (big band), a month later my doctor (McKeen) here in Calif. did a flouro fill and that's when we saw that the repair didn't work. Back to mex I went and Dr. Sanchez decided to reband me, free (the makers of the AMI band is paying for it). Dr. Sanchez takes care of his people!!! I'm very happy with my new band. Never any erosion or slipage issues ever. Not here to scare you, just to let you know it's happen to me. I'M NOT SAYING YOU NEED TO BE RE-BANDED! Find your leak under flouroscopy, most leaks are near or at the port. A simple port replacement is easy. I can so relate with trying so hard and wacthing every bite, before my band fix/replacement I was always stuggling. I'm sitting in inches of rain in California...enjoy your summer. Best luck to you. Pregnant and banded weight gain???
Vera replied to StartingOver's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congratulations! You seem to be watching what you eating, just knowing what your consuming is a great advantage. Not that I was pregnant banded but I know I had a big difference between carring a boy and a girl and how much I ate. With my son I ate for 5, endless eating. It's baby time!!! So Happy for you, good luck I still say (he's) due on 7-11-06 -

Knuddlehead(nud’el-head) 1)must go through penis to get to the brain. 2)cross between noodle and knuckle/noodle-limp, knuckle-joint. 3)suffer loss or to be at a disadvantage.

I’m so glad you went strait home, bummer about having to wait an hour for your meds. Thanks for calling me and taking my phone calls. Folks when I called Lisa 18 hours after she had surgery, she sounded awful. All I could think about was Lisa should be up and walking…. Sweetheart I’m so glad everything is over and your home and I’m glad Chris went with you. He might be a knuddlehead sometimes and not always have the right thing to say but he Loves you. Wow 2 hours without a word, that must be a record! Great pics

It so bites! Inamed sould be accountable for how the band is placed, the port changes and why. I'm starting to wonder about the J&J or the swedish bands insindent's of eriosion. I need to see a long...5 and more year study, not just the clinical studies

banded 7/12--and yesterday discovered I am pregnant
Vera replied to shrinazaldivar's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
If you wern't trying but 'doing it alot' you'll have a girl, I'm guessing you want a boy cause you already have 2 beautiful girls! Shirina your husband is a doll (I've met him) he has such a low back, kind, caring personality, enjoy being with child. Last we talked, you have a snug fill, don't worry about weight gain at this point as long as you don't eat for 5 like I did. All I ever wanted to do while being preggy was eat and sleep, and that's hard with 2 kids under 5. Congratulations and Merry Christmas! Corinne congrats too My guess is July 11 (my birthday)! -
Lisa my heart hurts really badly for you. Let me know what I can do? Will you be coming into Calif? Try and push for emergency surgery. Make the doctor claim it’s a matter of life and death so you’re insurance will kick in. I’m so pissed off. This is bull s***. This “ Cluster” is causing a lot of heartache, pain, suffering and money. Someone should be acountable for this. I read that not only has the technique that some doctors use changed but I also read that Inamed changed their port design about a year ago. You all have had Inamed bands I don’t think we should walk away…someone has to pay. If it were I or 2 erosions, but not 5 and up in a few months time. I’m going to try doing more research. I Love you guys

I love Dr. Sanchez! Glad to hear this report. I had one of those sweedish bands, it didn't erode just a tubing leak that couldn't be fixed so he re-banded me with an 9.75 Inamed band. Dr. Sanchez fan club!
-
I'm like Sue, I flew half way across the country to Monterrey Mexico for Dr. Sanchez. He sure has taken care of me with my leak and free re-banding.
-
Thanks Christina! I've been trying her cell every other hour. Inside I know she's not ready to talk to anyone just yet...I'm so glad we had time to talk before surgery, she's just so special. Welcome back sweets
