  1. I'm 12 days post op and I've been told by my family and I'm noticing it too, that I am being a witch. I don't feel bad, am walking, shopping, getting all my protein and water but I do agree that I am bossing everyone around like their all stupid or something. I do have a very high caliber stressful job but I have enjoyed spending some time at home. I am a very laid back person at home so it is quite surprising to my family that I am barking orders and arguing with them, so unlike my personality. Did anyone else experience this?
  2. Dr Lana Nelson is my bariatric dr in Moore, OK. She is located just south of Oklahoma City and operates at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Ok. This is all a Center of Excellence and I have been very pleased with the whole process. I had surgery Nov 15th, went there the night before and stayed at the hospitality house next to the hospital and my husband was able to stay there the 3 days I was in the hospital. She highly recommends sleeve for us who are scared of having our intestines rerouted.
  3. I am 11 days post op and I know what your going through. Just keep sipping and sipping. It gets easier. Start as soon as you get up and after the protein goes down wait 30 minutes and start on water. I had to set my alarm on my clock the first few days because I'm not hungry either. I feel like I work all day to get in my protein and water. You also get real tired of the shakes. I had egg drop soup for supper tonight cause I just found out today I could have it. I didn't eat very much of the egg but the broth was so good. I have another week on liquids and I never thought I would look forward to pureed food but I cannot wait!! Lol.

  7. Congratulations!! I am 11 days post op and this is so far the best decision I ever made FOR me. I was also scared and nervous, however, my surgery went well and even had a hernia repair while I was under. I didn't have alot of pain except about an hour or so after the recovery room. Got a shot of morphine and was good to go. My two suggestions are: 1. Get up and start walking as soon as you can. I walked within a few hours of surgery. Made it so much easier the next days because the hard part is getting up, it hurts using those stomach muscles. 2. Do exactly as your dr and nut say. Don't stray from their orders on the liquids, etc. I dont get hungry so I have to constantly remind myself to drink my liquids, water, etc. Some people have this and some are starving during this beginning time period. I think it all kinda levels off once your able to eat soft and solid foods. The liquids tend to leave the stomach quickly. Best of luck to you, I believe you'll never regret this decision!!!!
  8. I had sleeve surgery on Nov 15th and am doing quite well. I started my journey in Oct 2010 but had to delay my surgery this past Spring because my mom got in bad health. She was doing much better by the end of August so I immediately jumped back in to my program. I'm still on liquids and very tired of the shakes, powder soups, and puddings but I just force them down. Will be glad to move to purees in a few days. I am down 20 lbs from Nov 10th to now and have no hunger at all. Though my sleeve growls and reminds me of eating times. I think I'm currently holding about 2 ounces at a time, is that pretty normal? I know they've told me I will hold about 4 ounces max later on.
