I too had was banded on 11/30. My problem has been dry heaves! I had to in and have a cat scan to see if the band had slipped but it was still in place forunately!! They gave me a nausea patch that has done wonders but can't take any pain meds other then liquid tylenol which I dont like the flavor so no pain meds for me. I'm glad it over and hopefully we all will be on the mend and thinner soon.

Need Help - Waiting 5 Years To Get My Lap Band
Annfargo replied to polarisman1972's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
By high mark BCBS do you mean high deducible? If so don't you have to meet you deducible in other areas before anything else can be done. I know where I live our BCBS high deducible is like $3000. I know I didnt not take that plan but stayed with the regular BCBS. Good Luck to you, I know insurance can always be a issue. -

So I'm wondering who takes vitmains daily and what kind. I have the Bariatric Advantage chewable on hand for after surgery for the first month. What about after that can you swallow a whole vitamin pill or will it sit in the pouch? What about other medications?

Hi Elisabeth, I am also a newbie to this forum. I havent had my surgery yet, scheduled for 11/30! I already miss food and I'm sure that I'll miss it more later also. I'm hoping that in time I will be able to at least taste some of my favorite foods. But for now I'm content with what I have. I wish you all the best in this journey. -

Lap Band Surgery 11/3 Alittle Scared!!
Annfargo replied to Annfargo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks so much for all your words of wisdom and encouragement. I'm very excited and looking forward to my new outlook on life. And yes I have been on the pre surgery diet. My diet consists of 3 shakes a day and a lean cusine type meal under 300 calories a day. So at Thanksgiving I did have some turkey and a veggie and cranberries. Which I think was about 300 calories. So I'm down about 11lbs already!!! Good Luck to you all also. -

Hi, my name is Ann and I a newbie!! I'm having my surgery on Wednesday 11/30. I'm mostly scared about the port and how it is going to feel after the surgery. Does it feel awkard, can you feel it when you are laying on your stomach and does the pain/discomfort ever go away? I'm excited to have the surgery and regain my life back. I'm looking forward to moving and feeling better. -
