This Is Simple.... I Ran!

Yayyy! -
Don't give uo walking until you understand the cause. Go to a specialist. I get wicked pain in my feet sometimes, and I love cycling so I focus on that, but I want to get back to running, so I guess I will be off to the specialist soon, too.

Getting To Know Nae-Nae

It is real odd at first. Mine is named "george", because he reminds me of a 'george', haha. -
I know the NSV's of the airplane. It is a good feeling to be on a smaller commercial flight and not feel obliged and to discretely tell a stewardess that I will not be offended if they want to set me next to a child or really petite person. Your Mom must have been so proud. Try and remember how she looked when she saw you, and do everything you can to take pictures with her as you continue to loose. Good luck.

I May Have Overestimated How Much I Need To Lose.(?)
Pookeyism posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This started as a reply on another post, but it got me to thinking about it again. Do many of you have to adjust your goal weight? I had it at 160, possibly on down to 150. I am 5'10 and much of my weight is visceral and in my upper arms, like a man. Almost no butt or hips. I have posted some pics of what I have looked like at various sizes. The last size is a "I dunno/maybe 16". The last pic is of my sister and we are very similar. She is six years younger and no skin surgery required...she is also three inches shorter 5'7" and once my muscle is back up to form she is less muscular. She is 185 lbs. If you had to go by what I have presented, what would you say? Me at 279 lbs. Me at about 271 Me at about 245-238 Me at about 214 Me at 185? This is my sister, six years my junior, three inches shorter. 185 lbs. -

if you have worked on both knees, please be careful on a treadmill jogging. Go into real store, not a mall or outlet mall, and get fitted for running shoes, not cross trainers. Alot of trainers are going to call that overkill, and they are wrong. That advise comes repetitively from some of the best docs in Houston - I have a bad knee too that required surgery after a knee injury. I also made my Hubby do that and his lower back pain went away. Your mind can do amazing things but a blown knee is a blown knee.

Be careful, maybe make sure the egg passes before you put too much more in your system. I tried to transition again and apparently I created a blockage. I am not passing gas or anything else. It is getting really uncomfy. -
3 Weeks Out 39 Pounds Down And My Jeans Are Still Tight?
Pookeyism replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I regret not making actual measurements but I have pics - you can see what I went to from my pics (my gallery) - the pic in that horrid blue thing and the white shirt show almost identical weights. The next pic with me in the same white shirt is about 30 lbs, so I lost alot in my tummy. The next two only represent about 10 more pounds of weight loss. The face shot on my profile and me in pink on the floor is about 60 lbs down from this time last year. so a bit more than 20 more pounds. So I seem to be losing inches, and yes some weight, but not as much as I thought I was going to have to lose to see these results. I kind of wonder if I have set a weight goal too low. -
Yes. It's overwhelming. You will be OK. Good luck.

No More Plus Size Shops!
Pookeyism replied to MoonSiren's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Interesting you said that "also just to figure out how to do it given the new choices of things and stores". I was thinking about that as I walked throuhg the Galleria on Westheimer here in Houston. It is a huge mall and has just about anything you can imagine. You can get a fad dress for 35$, you can buy a business suit for $5000. I was thinking to myself that soon there will be so many choices, and I burn out shopping so easily. I wonder if it will be the same when I can actually pick and choose where I shop. -
Things are getting, er, flappy. They are shrinking, but flappy, and wrinkly - my Hubby swears I am putting too much by it, and he seems to be very happy to wrap his arms around me, or pat my, er, behind - so if he can put up with it I am cool, haha. Goodness, I am going to pay for some plastic surgeon's kiddos first year of University - Abroad! :/

Okay, I have unfortunately had an apron now for awhile. Since I have lost the weight it has become smaller, but also a bit baggier, and it claps. How do the runners deal with this? Guys I just don't think I can run with my belly slap-clapping along. It also creates discomfort after a little bit.

Did you just say I have flappy thighs? Headed for the ice cream and cheesecake... JK!

3 Weeks Out 39 Pounds Down And My Jeans Are Still Tight?
Pookeyism replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have heard this from people before, but in at least a few instances they had lost alot and it was noticeable, but they had REALLY underestimated how tight their clothing was. They were loosing and it was obvious, but they couldn't see it because they were waiting for that finger notched in jeans showing how baggy the jeans are. NOT saying that is anyone, notice I said a few instances. I had a similar but different problem. I can't stand tight jeans, and REFUSE to wear tight leg jeans. I often wear guy jeans - and love military jeans. So it took awhile for me to get past "is this my imagination, are they baggier?". I began to realize it finally when I had to start wearing belts, and simultaneously mourned and celebrated the inability to wear any of my para pants, without looking like I was wearing a diaper underneath from them being gathered so much. I will wait a few weeks to get more, I went to an army surplus today and was shocked to find I am almost out of the next "size" - one size is actually a big deal, cause they are sized in 4 inch increments, and a little to give, so right now the 43- 39 fits only if I gather them, yay! -
