I Am Overweight, And 6 Lbs From Wonderland!

kgb, my Mom passed away unexpectedly on my one week sleeve anniversary. Thanks to you both for the well wishes. -
I have had coffee on a few occasions now. I get a very dark roast and it is somewhat less acidic and lots of milk. I seem OK as long as I limit it to about 4 oz in sips and stretch it out a little. It isn't a habit I will be able to do much, however - I do notice the diuretic effect.

That is actually pretty awesome. I shared a loveseat with two other people watching a movei a few days ago...OMG!

Kim, now I am the one to be extremely upset - how dare yo uattempt to use free legal resources if you are going on cruises every other month? Teh system is not to leech off of. those services are for people who need them. It is not an entitlement. Okay - here I go - You sound like you are upset that you gianed weight back. You really do. Are you following the program? Are you using this not to? I won't be responding or following. This is amusing but way too much like an annoying Woody Allen dialogue! -

Kim, I am goin go task yo usome questions. You are in no way obliged to respond. Fisrt let me make a suggestion - take your real name off of this page. You should never make yourself so open. The moderators of this forum cannot ensure your safetly, and do not "confirm" who people are. I could be an ex-felon and I think I could have got alot of info out of you very easy. NOT picking on you. I say it out of concern. What kind of medication were you on? I don't mean to be rude, but if you did have a serious situation, it may be that you were also having a response to the medication. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks once with a horrible knee accident. I ccame home and thought I had been off work for about 3 days...that was when we learned morphine is not my friend! There are some contradictions that people following your story are finding confusing, I think. The inability to make noise but you had a phone to bang up agianst the bars - but if you were out of it enough and panicking, understood. The doctors did not hear from you for three days, but you were in ICU? Perhaps you could give us a timeline. I have to admit your story is interesting and I would like to help you clear it up, if you are hoping for people to be able t follow you.\ Let's assume you meant no harm in reference to 'beast' anything - I for one think you have the right to say that within the context you did. I was (lbs) on (date) when I had my surgery. The complications started (how far out, before after released) and then (was this when you called 911?). I ended up in ICU (when), and spoke to my doctor's staff (before/after and when). I hope it helps, it seems like you need to express yourself, and we have all needed to. IF the story is bogus guys, so be it, if not, you know? -

If I ever go in for anything planned, we have already decided I am hiring a private nurse/advocate for the duration of my stay. It sounds expensive until you figure in what it can avoid. -

Just get an attorney. They go from there. the review board has no say so other than to the hospital. You will need to get the record of your 911 call, and who responded - the policeman's opinion is important. Your lawyer will get additional doctors to review the extend of your bleeding, etc. and create their own opinions. Are you sure the nurse "hid" the button? It is horrible that you went through that, but if you are remembering things out of proportion to the event, that is also egregious. Hope you are healing well. But a word of caution - be prepared to possibly answer for your post. I have heard of doctors "fighting" back against negative posts...not on here. It was an article in a local community magazine. -

Medical Bracelets
Pookeyism replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think the question was aimed at long term wearing - but the extended time that our stomach is still subject to heal. I think I have decided againt it, but if you are a lapband or plication to sleeve revision that suffered damage, or you have had a leak, etc. OR PREGNANT - perhaps a bracelet that gives a contact number rather than the typical bracelet. Thing is I know everyone wants to be normal, but for now a new sleeve is sooo not normal. I can see several scenarios that a bracelet could save your life. Perhaps one of thedog collars, do drop under your clothing? My diabetes bracelet was actually an italian charm. I often wondered if anyone would even notice, lol. I would suggest you make an ICE on your phone that puts info on meds and such in a contact info note. I have always had that. -
Will definately give it a try! Thank you for sharing!

Once I was able to get ahold of long term studies I was like "Helllll no!". So very grateful for my sleeve. I am a size 16. I ran today!

"its Makin' Me Dizzy! My Head Is Spinning...like A Whirlpool, It Never Ends!"

About the rest of your post: I made a decision not to tell my Mom (Mum, lol) and I don't regret it. But mine is a bad ending anyway - my Mom passed away a week after my surgery. Had I told her I know I would have spent the rest of my life wondering if I had worried her to death. She was 58 and it was totally unexpected. ...I kind of have a good hold on that but the actual removal of stomach; the pain of recovery;... Even if you do don't be harsh on yourself if it slips a little. It is ok to freak out. It is OK to look at your stomach and cry. It is OK to have moments that take your breath away when you realize you will not interact with food the same again, and that you will not interact with people and food the same again. This will decrease for most us of as we concentrate on fixing our demons, and slowly realizing the change is not crazy-drastic. People do not tend to remember the bad as much as they do the good. It is a good-ol scientific fact. It is one of the reasons why they offer medication sometimes to people with photographic memories - if we remebered all the bad, it would overwhelm. Imagine remembering every bellyache, every cut finger, toothache - every off word or deed!!! So we forget, and we remember good AND we all work at a subconcious level to actually make things less than they were - even if we can remember the importance of the event...What I aim to get at there is you will eventually - and not too far off, if you step up and deal with your issues (we all have them) you will look back and the crazy monumental feelings will still have importance and depth - but will be "normal" for you. The change will feel lessened, and eventually you will recall but not feel very connected to the old you. My best example may not be for everyone but I have been with my Hubby since 1999. It seems he has always been there - so has the farm and his family - even when I have had a chance to be with friends that are pre-hubby I feel as if he is in there somewhere. You will feel that way about you new life, new healthy choices, exercize and hopefully an active lifestyle. I was self pay, and I walked into the doctor's office with an offer of cash across the board - which made it crazy easy to get the surgery - and I really suprised them that I still wanted the names of the nut, the counselor, etc - although I had been going to a nut for my diabetes, a counselor abotu 3x a year for diet and "burn-out" on the diabetic lifestyle, etc. I urge you to get a support system going as soon as you can - please. If you cannot find one take the initiative and create one. I would hope that with it being as common as it is you could reach out to many needful people. You really spiked my curiosity about the pain management. But if it were very verily shhhh I guess you wouldn't mention it in the first place...like govermental? M16, M15??? GCHQ? DIS? Lol - don't get the conspiracy nerd in me going. There are very good ways to self-manage pain. I learned a few myself after a really bad incident, and more when I took them with a friend dying of cancer. They helped physical pain - but also emotional pain. -

Lol - not saying that you should do anything illegal but if you were in California and you could use weed, I definately would not smoke it - I would (theoretically) get a vaporisor, or put it in cholocate milk made of half and half. THC (i learned about this in California :/ ) is most potent in a fatty mixture - else u loose most of it. But it is a drug, legal, illegal, whatever - and yo should really be aware of how it would affect you - especially related to your mental health and any, any, any meds you are already on. Mo codine in the UK? I never needed to know that, but that is scary! What do they do for people with pneumonia and such, if morphine and codine are banned? SEE - I knew there was a reason I don't go abroad anymore! -

whether or not you go with a low/high or inbetween carb level - and chances are you may do all more than once - knowing what to look for is very important in regards to getting what you need out of your selections. Especially diabetics. In my opinion diabetics should not go by a low/high carb choice. Moderation and continuous testing as the pounds come off are key. I was diabetic for 5 years - it is always in the back of my head!
