Breaking Down Day 10 Pre Op

You should cry all you want to, and then wipe the snot off your nose and tell yourself you are doing well, and take it day by day. Surgery for me is a really traumatic thing (long stories based mostly on me never reacting to meds they way they anticipate) - so I was really scared of not waking up, and waking up the wrong way (i woke up in the middle of a knee surgery once). Your fears are justified, just be sure the way you react to them is reasonable to your emotions, but aimed at your goal. So much good luck to you! God bless.
  2. I agree with the other posts - 2 lbs a week average is really good. That would be 104 lbs in a year. it does give your body a chance to adapt. Maybe try upping your calories to 900 and be sure to drink some plain Water. Miltivitamin takers seem to lose well, too.

How Manu Ounces Of Food Should Fill Me Up?

Lol well put. It varies from how far along you are, to what gauge they did your sleeve in, what you eat, and – no really – the length of your stomach! I found out that the length of a stomach varies considerably…and if you have a 4 in long sleeve you will hold less than a 7 in long sleeve. For me solids about 2 oz. thick meat based gruel about 3 oz…liquids vary too but I can get in at least 8-12 oz in an hour, if I need to.

    External Reviews........

Stay strong. just be ready for the approval or denial - and what you will do from there. God bless and good luck.
  5. Once I did some research on the band I was lke "whoa!". The sleeve has saved my life, congrats on your revision and the best of everything to you!

    Hi :)

    Hey Mishy!
  7. About one a week, never more for weight, and I never took measurments...I have a tshirt thing I am using, lol.
  8. I am a touch smaller that I was when I met my Hubby in 1999 - and a year later I was almost 7 dress sizes larger (long story) - I made him wait 3 years to marry me because I was afraid I couldn't lose the weight - and I didnt until now. We Celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary on the 24th. He is going to be in Cypress and Israel for at least a month or so, very likely more. I hope to break my (one of many) stalls and see if I can be a size down when he gets home. I don't think he has ever stopped "looking" at me, but again yes, it is a bit different now when he does
  9. I don't have alot of tast for food either - so I try to keep pushing the "best" on myself - I think I need to reenvent my taste buds (or NOT, lol).
  10. Discuss the hydrocodone with a pharmacist. Nowadays, I will take the word of a good pharmacist over a great doctor. When I say good, they are regulalry speaking to customers, attend follow up educational events, know thier chemistry, etc.

    I Must Confess...

Could you and another mom walk while you wait on the kiddos? Maybe alternate pick up dates with another mom? Take the stairs at work (cliche i know, lol). Could your husband alternate pick up dates? Or one pick up one child and one the other? even just occasionally?

    So Happy With My Decision

me either! - and it probably had lead in it anyway, lol

    Vegans?

I think you could do it if you were willing to be OK with supplements as a permanent part of your diet. I just cannot see how this is better for you, but to each his own. I guess I can recall the times my vegan buddies would get seriously injured and the first thing they had to do was go off the vegan path - or later wished they would. I had a friend crawl, on-fire, out of a small plane about 5 years ago 3rd degree burns over 45% of his body - totally vegan and was told to eat meat or risk not healing for years...

    Whew!

Good to see all is progressing well - I can't imagine my Hubby agreeing to the surgery - literally would never happen. I didn't call it adkins but that is similar to what I am trying to follow now. 4 days! wow! you are going to look back at all of this and just be amazed - and I am talking about 4 months, I wonder how it will be in a year or more!

    Yoyo Game

Don't weigh yourself everyday and this question mostly goes away...day to day you are going to fluctuate due to Water and wastes and more. Weekly or less you can "see" the overall picture. Get a tshirt that is too tight to wear, but big enough to put on - a sausage caseing comes to mind (for me) - then try it on about every other week - you are going to be amazed...keep a new size handy too - so that you always have a tight one and a "loser" one...this will help you see the weight loss even when the scale isn't moving. Good luck!

    no. jk! yes you can.

    Hbo Documentary

I got to see a part of this and I am going to go back and try to watch it again...what I saw was good, but it leaned heavily twoards a liberal reach of explaining why the government should "help" here and "fix" that..i'd rather be fat (yes I mean that) than have anyone ban foods, or make it difficult to farm one thing more than another (they made corn and soy look like bad boys, but you take away the sbsidies and see how you like paying 10$ a gallon for milk - and good cheese? fetta-getaboutit....)

    Regrets Anyone?

That is a question you will have to ask yourself, and it is why some will fail even with a teeny tiny tummy...head hunger, issues, and life can make this difficult. It is taking me a long time - I have some serious metabolism issues also, but I have done alot to prepare for the repeated stalls I would have - and not being ravenous has helped so much. No one can answer the question you asked - or not what I think you are wanting to hear. You will be giving yourself a tool unlike anything seen in the history of fighting obesity - perhaps short of a famine - that you still hav eto work with to create results. You will have to anticipate the unexpected, prepare, and hopefully read, and attend meetings and don't leave the docs by the wayside once you are approved - you will need innerstrength, and you will have to prepare yourself to never be able to hide behind the fat kid wall ever again....
  20. Yup! I am going to start drawing pics of me in front of the mirror...much better than film!

    One Year Out

I lost my Mom a week after my surgery - I had not told her yet. She was not obese just the opposite - she was so small and frail when I saw her in the casket - but I can't easily discuss that yet. My Husband has been so worried, but he has no plans to leave and i don't plan to let him (ok - so he is going to be in Israel and Cypress for at least a month - but that doesn't count, lol). I did lose friends and I am struggling with the image part. A year from my surgery, wow, I can't imagine that far ahead yet. Wish me luck - and good luck to you! Keep up the good work!
  22. I think the 190 is a good goal. Don't forget to set other, small goals as you go. When you are in Onderland (and I know you will be!) then you can look at your goal and ask yourself if you need to re-adjust). By then this whole "thing" will be easier, and you will see how your body is progressing. You might even find your goal is not a weight, but a condition, or a point of being able to do all those things from when you were 20 - the rest just may be gravy, lol. I was always big - born 24in long, almost 10 months from the day my Mom missed her first period (tells you how late I was). I weighed almost 10 lbs and never looked back. I fought to keep it under control (fight is the literal word - I went through hell - imagine beign hungry for years, just - hungry - for years). Best of our new world to you! Go get it, no matter what size you decide to be.

Today Is Surgery Eve For Me

So excited for you! YEs I agree I bet you are hungry...is popsicles on you OK list? Good luck!
  24. Getting psyched up and ready give away more clothes, and recognize myself in the mirror a little bit less, lol. I crossed the border to Onderland on April 24th, and I have denounced my citizenship in Fattsville. Now what??? If you go from January of 2011 to now, I have lost 83 lbs. I was sleeved 1/4/12 and most of the weight was after the surgery, but I cound January 2011 since it was the highest I had been in awhile, and I started my last "diet" at that time - even if I did not know I had started the big final ball rolling at the time. Soooo now what? I think my next goal will be to see if I can get to the 100 lbs lost mark. That would be 17 lbs from now, but it seems a reasonable goal. I have issues with my metabolism (I stall just thinking about a diet) so my weight loss has been a bit slow, but I have an enormous sense of calm after the surgery, because I know I can wait the stalls out now. I will win, not my appetite. I don't know when I will hit it, but 17 lbs in 3-4 months will be great. If I could clear it by the time my Hubby returns from Israel (he will be traveling for work for awhile very soon) that would be interesting to see what he thinks 17 lbs more does to my appearance. Wish me luck!
  25. Next time tell your boss you can't eat that and request jason's Deli or something like that instead. I finally had to step up for myself here and make sure they understood that if they all get a say so on food then I am not counted out because I cannot pig out. They kinda forgot I ate at all and was on this "soup/salad/fruit" for Lea thing...
