6 Month Supervised Diet.. Anyone Lose Enough Weight They Decided
Pookeyism replied to Izzybeff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
losing was never an issue for me either, but keeping it off and reaching goal were things I never could achieve. -
I am going to use by before and after pics to market a diet drink..."Pookieism's pounds away", or something like that... Or tell everyone I did it by eating brussel sprouts and drinking vinegar...lol. Ooohh...maybe habiinero peppers - or bee venom...

I think I need an eye exam, but it has been awhile sine my last test (for correction). I don't know if it has anything to do with the surgery, my guess would be no relation or very little.

How Much Weight Before Clothes
Pookeyism replied to FattyBoombalatty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have seen 10 dress sizes go away and I have lost 80+ lbs. BUT I was very triangular shaped, almost retangle, so alot of it has been directly off my waist and such. Depending on where you lose it will determine sizes...but I have noticed that people who say this may not realize how much they have lost in thier face, or thighs, or lower hips, etc. -
Not Sure What To Call It...but I Am In The 300's!
Pookeyism replied to brandymarie81's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I call it wonderful! Very happy for you! You did mention that you thought you could be more strict with yourself. Now would be a good time to catch any bad habits you are keeping and get rid of them for good. At first you can still get away with things if you want - I have seen many posts to that effect, but later you will need the discipline and good habits for your sleeve to continue to help you. But again - Yayyyy! -
Afraid I Won't Tolerate The Foods I Like Now After Surgery
Pookeyism replied to carriecat's topic in Food and Nutrition
You may or may not have any want for your favorite foods after WLS - but what you need to ask yourself is do you need the foods you are talking about? if they are healthy things I would say you will still want them, as most of us seem to begin to want the better, more nutritionally valuable foods as we progress. Our head hunger can be another issue. What yo uneed and what your head tells you you need are two different things. This topic is actualy more core to many people than I think we realize. We need to use out tool, or sleeve, to help us control the things we "want". Don't be afraid if you can't eat something - just focus on what you can. Just my opinion -
One Pound To Onderland!
Pookeyism replied to 2ndtimesacharm's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
*jumping up and down* OMG - I remember how that feels! Sooo excited for you! -
There could be other reasons, but often is is an option offered by the wholeseller/producer so that it is more difficult to price compare something. It also keeps people from doing what you did - finding it on your own. Many will continue to pay a doctor, because they can't "find it anywhere else".

My bewbs are sooo ethiopianesque! Def gonna need some surgery there .my biggest issue there is I have developed a fold that is under my arm as well...ugh... Did have a friend who mention that just a lift would leave my bewbs at about a small b- and hubby looked so sad! I may end up with silicone as well.

Just be sure the doctor and your nutritionist feels you can still get in enough nutrients to heal.

Exhaustion Lasts How Long?
Pookeyism replied to kccgm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you had lost your tummy another way, you would probably qualify for benefits and such for an injury and surgery...take time and rest. Especially if you body is telling you to do so. When you spend a lot of time on this and other forums, you can lose sight of what a serious surgery this is. Again - take your time. -
Medicare Will Not Pay/support The Sleeve
Pookeyism replied to sdb1147's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I would discourage the lap band, especially if you would have to jump through Medicare hoops to have it removed if you had problems. -
Spicy Not Nicy
Pookeyism replied to thebionicbroad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may just have a spice or two you can't stomach anymore - Nutmeg is bad for me, for instance. -
Major Case Of The Blues.
Pookeyism replied to louise aussie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because you do not understand it does nto mean you cant talk about it....actualy talking about that aspect of it would be a good place to start. it happened to me, too. -
I want to try OA again but my first experience was not good - but that was 10 years ago and in another state...
-
Hubby bought me a ice pop maker last week - it freezes popscicles in 10 minutes...I am going to try it this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.

Yes, it took a long time for pureed, and then anout as long to mushy, and I am still fighting solids. Everyone is different. Only do what your tummy can.

Vsg Has Literally Saved My Life (May Be Tmi)
Pookeyism replied to Spatters3's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You will fight it and you will beat it. None of us have to give into cancer, we exist in an age that we are literally able to cure diabeties through curing obesity, cancer will be nothing! I know you are scared, please be ok with that. Listen to your body. Find something new everyday to go "I am fighting for ME, to appreciate and experience THIS." Keep the wind at your back, and call upon us if it changes directions. -
Beautiful, and happy! yay!

Hey, it's pretty much what a savory smootie is, right? Call it thick Soup, a meat base - whatever, its gruel. Lol. With that said I give you "its not as bad as worse could be" gruel: 8 oz or so of cambells v8 butternut squash soup (this is a 1 1/2 worh of veggie servings) 1 scoop unjury protien, unflavored 1 can shicken spread (I use underwood) 1 can roast beef spread by same throw it all in a blender, mix till smooth. soup is 90 cal, 2g protien 18 carbs. can of roast beef is 260 cal, 16 g protien, 4 carb, chicken is comperable. so its about 610 calories, makes abotu 2-3 cups of thick gruel, about 52 g protien and 26 carbs. Not what you would want everyday, but if you are having trouble with protien, its got a veggie boost, too... PS - dont treat this as a liquid you will be sorry, wait before you drink and try to get in a Fiber supplement too - trust me.

I used to think I was causing it, but I think your stomach pulls it in somehow, whether or not you are eating. It just sound different with food in your tummy.
