    Biotin for hair loss

I didn't sweat the hair thing too much. I just got a short hair cut.

    Alcohol and Sleevers

The effect is a whole lot of excess calories, and a drug that is a depressant and like you said, drinkers are more likely to become dependant now.
  3. They talk, mine still does 20 months out. I named mine 'George', cause he talked so much he needed a name.

    Hurts to drink

I was aided with this by keeping a gas strip handy while I drink. I also switched over to a liquid hydrocodone which caused me to itch, but kept pain away at a greatly reduced dosage, since I had to sip so slow, I was able to monitor to the drop the amount needed to control my pain. I have heard that the external pressure from residual gas can make it hurt like that. Consider walking a bit more.
  5. Can't comment on the band but if you are having foot issues consider doing Water arobics and if it is the mobility of your ankle, get water proof braces. Also there are machines and at-home exercises that apply no pressure to the foot. If you are interested I could help set you up with an in-chair flow of yoga and/or weights that might help where your walking is limited.
  6. What a journey you have been on!!! Speech! SPEECCHH!!! Would love to hear a summary of your NSV's and who has said what and get up on that soap box!!! woo-hooo and shout out!!! How absolutely AMAZING you are, what an inspiration!

    Protein Shakes and Smoothies

Could you list a name brand OR ingredients???
  9. I have been asked on occasion what books I have read, what I would recommend. I was asked again in a PM yesterday so I thought I would share it here, too. The one book I think I would recommend to the whole group in general, is "The Power of Habit." I would suggest you read the reviews if interested, and the link to the author's website is below. This is NOT an instruction manual, it is not full of recipies or how to make this particular transition from pre-post any easier or give you a path to follow once you are there. It DOES explain and discuss Habits, how we aquire them, what research has learned about them, etc. Very good read. http://charlesduhigg.com/

    Discouraged :(

Everyone is different, and everyone above has gave very good advice. Don't panic. Eat sensibly, keep a log and be aware of your sleep - get plenty of rest!

    is this normal

No, this is the difference between foods, you will notice it a bit. Just be careful not to adjust to what you can hold, but stay constant with modest, measured servings. The foods we can hold more of are sliders, and proceed with caution! lol!

    After 1 month pic

You are shaped like me - well, almost like me. (I am shaped like a guy really). I mean you have the small hips and legs and it is all abdominal. Start doing squats now, and do gentle but continuous core work. My hubby is totally shocked at my butt! There is no fat and it is solid muscle straight to my feet, which are 1 1/2 sizes smaller now! You can see such a profound difference!!! Way to go!
  13. It definately slows down, but do not let it concern you too much. You are in a position to do what you were never able to do before: Keep what you have lost off. Truly, you have already succeded, since you know that no matter how long it takes, every pound you have lost, you can make an aware choice to keep that off. If you lose 2 lbs a month, that is 24 lbs you would not have lost before - 24 lbs gone forever. See how that goes? That's quite awesome, if you think about it! Stick with it, don't over do it! Be good to your body!

    Plastics Newbie Here!

I am up in the air about this also, it has been suggested that my insurance would cover a panni, but nothing else - and allow nothing else at the same time. So I may do that for ease of exercise and hygene over christmas, and then look into the rest about a year later. Not sure. One thing noteworthy - and no offense to anyone - the 1/40,000 vs. 1/4,000 mortality difference for 1 procedure vs. multiple procedures does not seem accurate. It would need more information than that. I would be hesitant to go with a doctor that cited that, no matter what his results are. That sounds like an excuse to make as much money as possible. There are just too many variables. Statistics are just that, then you have to look at yourself individually in these instances. Do you fare well under anestesia? Anemic? Diabetic? Slow healer? WHAT are you working on? Lipo included? http://www.dryoho.co...urgeryrisks.cfm This is a thorough review of many cited points and careful evaluation. It shows very relevant points that it is not necessarily what you have done, but also where and how long it takes...a complicated abdomioplasty can take three time as long as, say 2-3 lesser procedures, therefore actually increases the mortality rate.

7 months post op and on a 3 month stall!

Be good to your body. The first initial weight loss can be so fast and so easy that the next step, when it is harder and takes awhile, that can be just soooo really hard. If you were on a regular diet, this might would be your yo-yo point, so for awhile just focus on every bite being nutritional and drink plently of calorie-free fluids, put a little citrus in your Water, with some mint. GET YOUR sleep. Sleep is sooo important, especially if you are starting to get depressed. It sounds like you are having other issues, too. I hope it all works out. Just keep a log of what you eat, get in some walking, take the stairs, do something new, a little different. Everytime you want to get out the scales, go for a walk instead. I am right at a 16/14 and have been that way for awhile. I am just letting it go. Make sure I do what is right food-wise everyday (my exercise takes care of itself right now), sleep as much as possible, and just enjoy the fact that I have NEVER has a 2-year plus stretch on a diet working - and it is working. (I was sleeved 1-4-12 but started the initial diet a year earlier). Good luck, big hugs and find equanimity within all this, you are amazing! Your choices have been brave and you are in a better place than you would have been without it. Celebrate you life, your life has not stalled!!!! Just the scale. So 'poo!' on the scale and enjoy the fall season.

    Time to eat

It does sound like you need a schedule, even if it is just an alarm going off every 30 minutes to tell you to take a drink or two of something. Consider staying on a protien drink until you can be sure you are getting enough nutrition in. Good luck!
  18. Cottage cheese and bee pollen was so nice to be able to hold down!

    Soup!

Don't worry so much about the sodium unless you specifically have issues, or at least I should say you probably aren't going to need to worry about it much. I liked to make my own, and it isn't hard to do - take chicken broth or beef broth (lamb is OMG) and make "trinity" combos - like chicken, celery, carrots, onion and then take the chicken out, blend it, strain it, and then food process the chicken, adding the blended veggies in that. If you have a vitamix or know someone who does that will make a pure out of a tire Iron if you were so inclined, they are EXPENSIVE but make amazing soups and smoothies and such. Also try things like she-crab soup and canned oysters, pureed with lemon...good, good, good! Also you can take squash, mint, canned chicken, and currey and almond milk and make an amazing thai 'cheat'. Be careful with your protien powders, over 130 degrees and you denature the protien.

    Stomach grumbles

Try a sugar free antacid like tums free (avoid pepto bismol). Acid often makes us feel hungry.
  21. We call them NSV's - Non Scale Victories and yes, truly verily they are much more important that the scale will ever be.
  22. Pookeyism

    "Consecutive" Question

I don't think you will be any worse off for a fourth visit, and if it concerns you schedule them closer, and throw in a fifth (lol)...these meetings are not just a 'git er done' - or if they come off like they are go somewhere else. Take these visits to learn and ask questions.

    Married but looking?

I will not make a call for you if you are asking is it OK to compromise your wedding vows. If you need companionship there are other ways to achieve that. Perhaps you should seek to find a remedy within your relationship rather than outside it, if you want the relationship you have.

    I lost 5 wiener dogs!

OMG you have small dogs! That is less than three of my bunnies! I have two Flemmish Giant Rabbits, lol.
  25. You can still listen to your tummy, but an app like Fitnesspal lets you know if maybe you are accidentally listening to your head instead, or maybe it is antacid, or maybe you didn't get in as much liquid today as you thought, etc. If we slip, it is a good resource to go back to and go "so that was what I was eating when I (gained, lost , stalled, broke out in hives, had the repetitive loose stools, tummy ache,, etc)".
