Comment My Doctor Made That I Worry A Little About- Maybe Don't Look At This If Pre-Surgery

Having been stabbed in the stomach once upon a time (don't ask), I would have to say no. I think he was referring to the 5 incisions they make for the laporoscopic procedure. There are varying levels of pain for this...one of my most consistent was a site whee an internal stitch was set high and my belly pulled on it. I will still get a small twinge. Or at least I think I do it has been a couple of weeks. -
Thoughts On Hair Loss?
Pookeyism replied to 101driver's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I was not going to have much, because I didnt loose hardly any for 3 months then in April !BAM! My regular stylst just seemed lost...I ended up going to a place called sports clips...I figured I needed a short do, and I had thinning hair - so I went to a guy's hair shop. Apparently I am not the only fem that does this. She looked at my face and my neck and said "pixie cut". I have had a dozen compliments in less than 24 hours. I also realized I have a crazy long neck! lol -

A larper is someone who does live action role playing, which is fun but it isn't what I do. I do actual fighting, but with weapons and rules based to make the combat safer. I am with Dagorhir, Far Harar chapter. I am just getting back into it and I didn't realize how mich I missed it. I used to do it with SCA and other groups vith varying rules and safety...but that was over a decade ago. Dagorhir here is very active, and the weapons are safe enough to not worry too much...I do double sword and archery. I will also be participating in one-on-one sparring here soon. -
Change Of Heart No Lap Band I Will Be.....drum Roll Plzzz...........sleeved Soon!

We go through so much being overweight, the metal pain to me was far worse than any physical pain I have experienced. Congradulations in your choice. I agree you do need God on your side and WITH Him all is possible, BUT he wants you to do for yourself. Moses, Lot and Job, Ruth and Esther - so many had to make so many choices. Be brave, be strong - He did not create toys, he created life, to live. Blessed days ahead to you and your bff, and all those who will have you for so much longer now. -
What do you think about a 12 year old getting the sleeve? now, what if I tell you it is Dr. Alvarez's neice? When is it too young? What would I have been like, my life like, if I simply had to treat food like someone who had an accident or condition that could not handle food (which apparenlty isn't far from the situation). Hmmmm.

I thought it has something to do with "42".

Just start doing things in extreme moderation, near home, with a buddy...go from there. Your body will tell you. LISTEN!
-
I would have to say you really, really want to lose some before this surgery. Whith that said, however a part of the sleeve's history was acting as a 1st wave of surgery, for people who was so large they could not have the bypass - so I am confused for the people who are being told they are too large.

What tests were recommended/preformed on you at your 6 month (or so) follow up visit? I was self-pay, so all of my tests come out of my pocket, UNLESS they can be recommended for other reasons in advance, and I forward the information to my doc. I have an idea of a few tests, because my doc told me they were the standards, but I wonder if there are others that I should consider, if for no other reason than I may need them later for comparison, should something really go wrong. Opinions, please - chime in!

It did, thank you very much!

I hate to say it but I woud probably decline a FB page, with this and other commitments I just have too much - plus there is a group here, if everyone would just use it... ...the problem is there are too many goups, spreading everyone too thin. We are already here... I am not saying it because Houston Active Sleevers is my group. Someone can take it over or moderate, I just want whatever we do to work, lol. I would really like to meet you guys.

What Lissa said! lol

Yo uhave no idea! I get so cold. I recently survived a whole day non-stop in our warehouse. It was 99 degrees outside, so at least about 108 in the warehouse.
-
PS - I too am in the Cypress area.

Daniel I think dedicationg time to a FB page would probably be a bit much... I have a group called Houston Active Sleevers - except I cannot seem to get it active. Dealfind has a coupon for a paintball range INSIDE the beltway, in the 77084 code. 19$ for field fee, gun, air, 100 pellets...that is enough for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours play...5$ more is somethig like 200 pellets more. Would you like to go? Would anyone else like to go? Also I will be doing some other things soon. Join me if you would like. Zube park - I ride often, Saturday or Sunday mornings. New Paleo hall at HMNS - !!! OMG so going as soon as I can. Lots of walks and festivals and such, just strollin' around. Galveston to rent a pedal car!!!

"slow Losers" And Long Term Results?
Pookeyism replied to Carly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never thought the sleeve would not work, I am just over five months out, and have lost, including pre-sleeve loss 89 lbs. I weigh in again today - more loss? Maybe. I have metabolic issues that make stalls more prominent, plus it is very important to me to lose no muscle mass. I was in my low 240's when I was sleeved, and I am now at 190. I no longer am diabetic, and I have went from 40 BMI to 27. My weight loss is already successful. The rest will be great, i will take what I can, but it has already worked. I have gave myself years back. My husband has me back. I was always a fighter, this lets us fight - I don't mind the effort, or being one of the people to lose it slowly. I feel every loss, see every inch and know I fought for that. -
Are you sleeved?
-
Prayers to you. Warm green energy headed your way!
