Anyone Successfully Tap Into Ira To Pay For Surgery?
Pookeyism replied to SkinnyAnnie's topic in Insurance & Financing
It vary individualy - I just asked my HR and was told a loan can go up to 5 years - but if you leave before you pay it back you have 60 days to pay it back. My 401k with work is separate from the rest of my 401k, so yours may vary. -
Check the dates - and there are many mor of these out there - they range from zobbie flash mobs, to zombie walks, runs...there are, er, a few who shall be nameless that is working on a LMFAO "shufflin" zombie flash mob in downtown Houston.

Anyone Successfully Tap Into Ira To Pay For Surgery?
Pookeyism replied to SkinnyAnnie's topic in Insurance & Financing
It should not be difficult. There is usually not an approval process because it is your Money, and you are the only one penalized if it isn't paid back. There may be a limit on how much you can withdraw. It often taps out at 50%, or a max total dollars, etc. -
It sound like what a lot of people experience, just unfortunately not me! UGH! Glad all is well so far! Welcome to the losers bench!

You are preaching to the chior - I have been trying to get people to go for months now. I will be doing the December run in Austin, TX in the 11:30 leg. My Hubby got me a ticket and a spare for a friend. I doubt I will talk him into running! But he will go as a spectator.

9 Days Out, After My Sleeve...cant Sleep
Pookeyism replied to Cindy H's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your lack of sleep could be from SOOO many things, best to get the doc to assist so you can properly rest. See if they could assign you something to sleep at night, and you can just doze on and off during the day, knowing you got a good nights sleep. Lack of sleep, in many studies, directly relates to stalls in weight loss. -
Hi All, New To Forums, This Is My First Post...pre-Diabetic
Pookeyism replied to stinker's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had well-controlled type 2 pre-surgery, and about 10 weeks after surgery I was told that I could consider myself in complete remission. A1c has been below 5 since 2 months after surgery. I still test 3x a day and make a calender weelky to make sure I am varying the time of day I test - NEVER over 110, even after waking up....pineapple juice spiked me 12 points from 82 to 94... no meds, no shots, just testing to play it safe (I HAVE caught a few lows, so I keep my meter relatively near) -
Listen to your body and rest. Get your fluids in as much as possible, get your protien in as much as possible. It will get better.

I did not have a catheter, contrariwise, until they got me on the right pain meds I thought I was going to pee myself everytime I had to move. :/

Help Plz! Stricture?
Pookeyism replied to kwindham's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Probably a stricture but make them take video AND submit it for a second opinion - you could have an expanding vein, and that is deadly - please understand I am not trying to scare you - a ruptured vein in my Mothers throat is what they think killed her...six months ago today. They had "expanded" her throat twice to "ease a stricture" before she passed away. -
Question About Higher Bmi Vs Weightloss?
Pookeyism replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The higher your initial weight, generally, the faster it will come off - your initial Water weight loss will be greater, and it just takes more calories to maintain depending on how heavy you are. Thus more intitial weight loss. BMI can be tricky, because it is not a true measurement of fat. But in general say, 2- 35 year old women both 5' 5" working similarly, eating same, exercizing same, chances are one weighing 350 lbs will see much more initial weight loss than , say, a 220 lb woman. -
Lactose/dairy Free Protein Powder?
Pookeyism replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't have a soy protien but the unjuires are lactose free and are not dairy unless you choose to add it. Mootopia is dairy but it is lactose free milk, 1/2 the sugars, and it is protien fortified 8 oz milk is 12 g protien. I think Muscle milk is not milk at all, and GNC carries lean milk or something like that - again not milk at all... -
I have been drinking benefiber in my coffee, and fiber supplement drinks, and it has eliminated the worst of the constipation, BUT I still get pain as food travels down

Have Been On 3 Weeks Stall =(
Pookeyism replied to GabbyEstrada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pshaw! 3 weeks ain't nothin'! LOL Just keep going, keep your calories UP, don't skimp, and you will lose weight - you are probably losing inches! You are doing great! Dont forget that! -
It is something we all deal with. Don't let it hurt too much, but take a lesson from it, and move on (so much easier said than done, I know).
-
I was told six weeks, although I did cheat at abotu 4 weeks and took one that just has a few inches of water...
-
Balls yeah! Ouch!

Also you can buy spandex cloth and make your own. I did finally, although I will be revamping it soon.

Hit My First Goal I Set!
Pookeyism replied to innerme's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My citizenship into Onderland was hard fought for, too. It's like that Paramore song "It feels so gooood". Congrats and now that yousee how it can be, keep it in mid and try not to get down on yourself again. Be persistent. Good luck! -
If they are rude enough to ask to share when you have not offered, be blunt enough to say no!

I had to really up the flossing and brushing...and tongue scrapping. I brush about 5x daily now, and even wipe down my upper pallette and cheeks with a very soft cloth.
