The hospital should provide the soap, if not go to the pharmacy or a home health provider and and explain what you need...it generally contains hibiclens. ABSOLUTELY avoid it in your eyes, ears, nose and do a patch test a few days before. Reaction is rare but could delay your surgery. The trick is repetitive use before your surgery, under running Water...shower do not bathe. I keep hibiclens as a general application also, it helps my excess skin, and also foot odor and such.

For me, the decision to stay away from soda was that I recognized it as a trigger to want more sweets, or want the foods that I should not have. I burp excessively as is, and sometimes cannot burp when I need to so adding carbination to y tummy seemed potentially a very bad idea. There is usually a high amount of sodium. One more thing...carbonation occurs after introducing carbonic acid to a aquaious solution, or introduction of carbon dioxide, creating the carbonic acid, so it is a lower ph drink, meaning it is more acidic and definately potentially damaging to your tummy.

Sounds like you are doing great! pictures! lol. -
Hello everyone. I am back. My apologies to everyone for being away, but I could tell I was near burn-out and really did not want to get to a point that I went BO all the way, so I stepped back. In hindsight I should have said something but I did not expect to be gone so long. I am doing OK. I am in reluctant maintenance, lol. I have picked up my sword fighting in earnest and building up my muscle mass, and since my weight loss had slowed to a crawl I decided to up the calories via Protein and veggies and give my body some time to adjust, and heal from a couple of new sports injuries (sports injuries, ha-ha!). However, as September draws to a close and I hover in the size 14 area, I do wonder if I have enough in me to get to a size 10. I think realistically that is about as far as I want to push myself. I do not want to go any further down than I will be able to maintain, and I think I can maintain it – if I can lose it. This begins what will probably be a very slow process, since I cannot compromise on the food front. I.MUST.HAVE.MY.PROTIEN. LOL!!! Things have been eventful, and for me Fall represents the end of the year, so I will be dealing with my Mom’s death through that, and again for the Holidays which I hate to admit but I would pass right through them if I could – but they are my Hubby’s favorite time of the year. I will not do that to him. Previous NSV I missed posting (I think)::: I FLEW!!! Google acro-yoga, you will see what I mean. I am preparing for the 5k Zombie run in December, and for my birthday, I will be celebrating by taking the Victoria’s Secret card I get each year (and usually give away) and go buy a “Pink” Sweatshirt for the winter. I hope to be on here regularly, even if not daily, and look forward to getting to know our new members and touch base with old friends.

Lap-Clap (Tmi) Making Running Impossible - Help Please
Pookeyism posted a topic in Fitness & Exercise
Okay, I am down from a 26 or so to a 12-14 or so, and to be blunt I cannot run due to my lap...it claps, and while I am not experiencing any rashes it tears at the softer skin underneath...it is painful to run (and I can run now, dammit!). Any specific products anyone has used (I mean undergarment, duck tape, super glue, majic wishes from an evil djin) would be greatly appreciated. Thing is it just doesnt seem to be that big...I really want to run guys! I want to get out there and feel my legs burn and my lungs stretch...but I feel like someone is trying to aggressively peel my abdomen away... -

My Head Is Making This Difficult...truly Scared
Pookeyism posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will, for the first time in almost 20 years, step into an arena to demonstrate swordfighting for my group "Dagorhir". It will be at Space City Con in less than two weeks. I. am. so. scared. I still can't see myself as a size 14-12. I am working on this really great costume, leather fighting corset, and the whole nine, and I put it on and I FEEL like it doesn't fit...I don't understand this, and so far no one has really been able to help me with it. I am in the process of cutting the costume DOWN, because I can see it has become too big, even recently, but I FEEL like I have somehow fit a size 20 or so into this 32" corset I want to represent my group and myself well, but I literally get anxious trying on clothes and such, and the dressing up is freaking me out - but I have comitted myself and alot of people are looking forward to seeing me, and I am needed to help out. Any suggestions? I can't shake this - I dream that I am walking around like a T with both arms out because I have squeezed all this fat into this costume - but I kow that is not so. I can see there are no buldges, no "squeeze" effect - not a tight lace or button, except for the corset, and that isnt much - just enough to protect my tummy (and boobs)... phew! This was not what I thought would be my issue.... -

I 've Been Fat All My Life, But Want The Sleeve Right Now?
Pookeyism replied to Mzluvee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We all hit a wall. I had nto exactly made the decision yet, but knowing I had a tumor and knowing I may have partially caused that with the abdominal fat - plus diabetes, PLUS they couldnt even "see" the tumor till I lost some weight...it was enough. Good luck to you in your journey. -

Have they kept up with your blood sugar levels with the steroids? Have they checked for an pre-embolism or swelling due to stretching or tearing? have you had another esop? Are you allergic to anything? are you retaining noticeable amounts of Water and also, keep using your breathing gadget they gave you, and if you are coughing from your lungs, bring it to their attention ASAP... Sorry for what you are experiencing. it gets better. Good luck, God bless, and green energy headed your way! -

Very generous of you! Yes, very common mistake we buy wayyy to much stuff! I have actually save $ in the last few months by buying smaller amounts I think, when you add in what would have been given away, etc.

I do not have full dentures but I have a piece that connects to a prosthesis that used to be my cheek, and I understand your worries - I am getting it replaced with a piece that locks in with posts, and I have been told they can do this with dentures too - AND it reduces your dependency on the adhesives (which I have to use) - you dont want to swallow that on your tummy!!! Consider inquiring about this. An essentials kit you want to keep, in my opinion: You have to be so extremely proactive about oral hygeine now. that protien will stick to surfaces and you can develop bacterial infections, cycts, nodes and fungal infections...I have experienced only one and it was enough. OUCH. Alcohol based mouthwash OR yes, VODKA - I rinse my nouth out with it once a day... soft washcloth and toothpaste - I seriously think toothpaste on a rag after brushing is very good for your upper and lower palette - I was introduced to this in rehab therapy after the incident that caused me to need said replacement. If you are worried about retrieving your dentures from the toilet - which I would be much more than flushing them...or getting your face unnecessarily close to a public stall - get a few paperbags and some uncented trash bag liners for small trash cans and prep soem "flight bags" the paperbag keeps it discreet if you need it. Good luck if you think I might can help you further message me, I have had some experience with this.

If you are a Hubby who refuses to walk with your wife in the evening because you have to walk on the treadmil so you will know exactly how far/how fast you walked. Well, when you are bit on the toe by a hybrid poisonous spider of herebefore unidenified species brought to your town in the coffin of a guy killed by a bite from said hitchiking spider - then, well, you were warned, weren't you?!

A Little Worried...
Pookeyism replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Lissa - but keep a food log, to be sure you understand just how much you are eating, and of what... ...the last meal thing, you need to get past that, it does not "just go away".
