My post was not to get into a debate over who has the best doctors. It was a warning about a certain doctor (Dr Rodregus) and Belightweight and the service they DID NOT PROVIDE. And the BOTCHED surgery they did provide. Should have been a red flag when I was wheeled into the operateing room and the doctor was sitting at a coffee table reading a newspaper. IN THE OPERATEING THEATER. Him, nor his staff was masked up and the room sure was not steril. As for the post of lil miss diva,,and her comment about this being a support site,, keep it that way. Take a hike. The internet is the only way new people can find out about botched surgerys from incompetent doctors and the people funneling unsuspecting people to them. Its all sweet and good to have these crusaders pumping up their surgerys and their doctors and they sure dont like anyone rocking their little boat by someone telling the truth about the failures. Its almost like they are getting a cut of the action or working for the promoters. Well guess what,, there are alot of people,,a lot,, that have botches surgerys and many have died. Me included,, so dont you tell me to keep it a happy little support site only. People HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW about these incompetant Doctors. And as for the other post where he says, we cant let one bad post bother us. This is not a bad post. Its a good post. It may save someones life, wallet, and agony.There are many. My advice stays the same. DO NOT USE DR RODREGUS OR BELIGHTWEIGHT.

There is no guareentees that the surgery wont fail anywhere. But I ask this. Why would it fail if he put the stiches in the right place. But the thing that really pisses me off is how Dr Rod, his assistant, the hospital and Belightweight just did not want to do anything to remidy the failed surgery. They dont want to look into why the surgery failed,They never offered to check it out or give a discount on future surgery , nothing, they dont care ,, they all got there money from a person on dissability.Not so much as,,,, sorry it did not work. And as per the other post,, I am talking about the quality and expertice of the people doingthe work. Weather it be plication , sleeve or bypass,,, I would run like hell befor I let Dr Rod, belightweight or their cronnies touch me again. And you newbees,,, dont think for a minute it cant and wont happen to you. If you look close at these sites you will see how many failures and bungled surgerys have bee done,,you have to look hard because all they want you to see is the miricles so ya pays your money.

THIS IS JUST A WARNING. Over a year ago I had sleeve plication surgery with Dr Rod in Mexico. I had bleeding problems from the start. I puked blood for 12 hours. The staff at the hospital and the doctors were informed several times and their attatude changed dramatically from being nice to a not give a dam. They told me I was not pukeing blood many times as I showed them the blood in cups. I went home and from day one I felt like I had no restriction. They just kept fluffing me off when I contacted them. After the period of time to get on solid foods,, it was clear there was no restriction. I went to a specialist in canada and they did a barium set of exrays in canada and found ABSOUTELY NO RESTRICTION ANYWHERE. The stuff flowed to every part of the stomach freely. And it was thick as wax. Good job,, DR ROD. I sent the medical report to the hospital and DR Rod. They came back and told me there was nothing wrong. Well specialists and Barium exrays SAY THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG.I asked them what they wanted to do to fix this and was fluffed off again. BELIGHTWEIGHT FLUFFED me off too. I asked for my money back..Fluffed off again. Nice bunch,,, they botched the surgery , took my money, and fluffed me off. They will not answer e-mails, nothing. But WOW,,, look at the bright side. After 10,000 dollars,, months of agony, My stomach will hold a wopper, fries , and a shake if I wanted to put it in my stomach. NO WEIGHT loss in over one year post opp. A WORD OF ADVICE TO ALL LOOKING FOR PLICATION SLEEVE,,, DO NOT HAVE THEM DO IT,,, Not with DR ROD and not with Belightweight. They are so nice as long as you pay and then just go away.But iF the surgery is bungled or you have post opp problems,,,forget it. Pay the extra money and get it done in the USA. AT least it will be done right, and you may get some value for your money.Now I contacted another DR and he says I need to have the Rodreguz surgery taken out and then a sleeve done. Only 10,000 more. And DONT believe all the crap and hype to read on these med sites. After all,, they are trying to SELL YOU SURGERY. I will be surprized even to see this posted.

Hi Thanks. i definately do not have restriction like you. i can eat cottage cheeze and not even feel it. i can drink 8 oz in 15 minutes and not feel full. Can you tell me what and how much you can eat. Also, after you eat and feel full, how long does it last until you feel hungry. I am hungry 15 minutes after I eat. Who was your Doctor and how much did he charge for your operation. thanks

Hi had it done in mexica with Dr Rodreguz. I puked blood for 30 hours, severe gastric reflux. Now I am ok 17 days out except hungry all the time and I think my stomach pouch is too big. 15 minutes after i eat way more than 3 to 4 oz, Im hungry again. Hi i had sleeve plication sept 29 with Dr Rod. I had bad bleeding and pukeing blood for 30 hours. No one told me why and there should have been no blood with plication.Now 16 days post op I feel hungry all the time. i can drink a big glass of milk or eat something and feel no restriction. Were you guys like this? Fluids seem to run straight threw. Did he make my pouch too big?

Hi I think i am the opposite. I think my pouch is too big. i am 16 days post op. I can drink a big glass of milk in 5 minutes and not feel full. Any food I eat stays with me 15 minutes and then hunger pains come again. i had bad bleeding post op. There should have been none with plication surgery. i was supposed to be full after 2 or 3 bites as per what the doctor said but this is so not true. I have hunger pains all the time. The xray of the stomach showed it 3/4 full when i took about 1 oz of the barium so what is happening here? They said you will not feel hungry after this surgery but that too is so not true. Thanks

Check out the complications forum. Before my surgery all I saw was how good this was and how wonderful. Funny after the operation is when I learned of all the people with complications. I had bad complications too. i am 16 days post op and still am wondering if I did the right thing. 70% of the time I wish I never did it. I hope that changes with time. It changes your life big time,,and not always for the better.

I am 2 weeks post op. I am ok now except for the constant hunger pains. Another thing. I do not think my pouch is only capable of holding 2 or 3 oz. I just ate 2 slices of banana bread and one egg and not feel full. What is the point of this if the pouch is too big. The pouch is supposed to be the size of an egg so how can I eat 2 banana bread and an egg and want more. 15 minutes before that, I drank 8 oz glass of milk. I do not understand this as the xrays showed the pouch 3/4 full after drinking an oz of barium. The doctor said I would be full after eating 2 bites,,thats BS.

Hi I dont want to scare you off but i had complications. Puked blood until the morning I left. The doctors were good and the nurces too except they could not speak english. I was at wareax accross from el paso texas. The only problem I had was with the guy that was supposed to be a cyclogist. Every time i needed something or told him of the bleeding,,he was called instead of the doctors and he would seem to fluff me off. Took 6 times to get some antacid. he was great until I had the complications. I would show him 1/2 cup of blood and he would tell me Im not bleeding. The hospital was nice. No one to this day has told me why I bled. Everyone else who had surgery the same day had no complications. kacee

Hi I have not talked to Dr Rod since the day of the surgery. However I have talked to the other Dr that assisted him. They have never told me why I bled. The Dr says to take some meds and let the stomach heal. When did you get your surgery and how much did you loose 8 days post op. Did you have the plication? thanks kacee

Hi How are you feeling. I was there on the 29th. Thank god the bleeding stopped the morning I left. Have you lost weight since sept 29th. I have lost 17 pounds as of sept 8. My stomach is better but not good. Still feels like hunger pains all the time. Had dizzy spells and blured vision for one day. But ok now.
