Anybody Around Dayton Still Here?
enjoylifediana replied to Caribear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Great to see everyone from around the area. I am doing a little better. Still need more restriction but just have not had time to schedule a fill. I have also been trying to get pregnant so I am just trying to pace myself. I have lost 10 more pounds maybe more. I haven't weighed in for a few weeks. I feel great so who knows. I wish you the best on your surgery. Just remember its a process. It takes time and hard work. Liquids will be your friend for a little while. -
Well, today is my 8month anniversary of being banded. I have lost a total of 30 lbs but, the last mont I gained about 4 lbs back. I had my third fill yesterday and hoping that this will get me losing again. I feel like I am getting close to the green zone but, not sure. I am trying not to be frustrated with myself and the band. I have to keep reminding myself it is not the bands fault. It is me. I control myself. I am the one that makes the choices that I do. The last six months have been crazy. I started a new position at my job, I was studying my butt off for a certification test, and We moved into a new house. So, I have been a little stressed. So, I contribute some of my down falls to that....that and laziness. I So, I decided that I have got to get my butt in gear and do this. I really think that the band is just a tool that helps you it is not a cure. You are still going to have those crazy thoughts about food. It is just a tool to help you control yourself. I am thinking about getting a trainer. I really need to get in the habit of working out. I know if I did this I would truely see results. So...No more laziness!!! I am back on track and ready to kick some butt!!! No EXCUSES!!!! My one year anniversay of the band is in December and it's my birthday too. So...my gift to myself is to accomplish what I set out to do!!! Happy 8month anniversary to me!!!

8 Months Post Op
enjoylifediana replied to enjoylifediana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys. That is a great idea about the polish. I do get the munchies when bored. I have been doing great this week so far. The exercise was haulted a little bit because I got a tattoo on my foot and it is still healing. I have been behaving in the eating department. I am really feeling like this feel might be the one that does the trick. It will be a week tomorrow since my third fill. I am thinking that it might be just rigth or maybe just a .5 cc more and I will be golden. I have been measuring my portions and eating very very slow. Also, sticking to Protein and veggies. My usual shake in the morning and I have been good. So...I am going to weigh myself on Friday and see what the results are of my week. I having a feeling I am back on track!!! Yay!! ME!!!! -
Did Anyone Not Lose Until After 1St Fill?
enjoylifediana replied to Mama Mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got my thrid fill this week. i must say that it is definately a learning curve. I too thought that the weight would be just falling off of me. Which I don't know why I thought this because that is exactly what I didn't want to happen. That is the reason I chose the band and not a bypass. I feel that the rate of weight that you lose is a healthier rate with the band. I do think that sometimes you sit and read these boards and get your hopes up and your expectations are very high. So, when your journey is not like everyone else's you get a little down on yourself and maybe even your band. Me being one of those people. This third fill i feel like I am finally getting some where. I am feeling resistance more and more. I also think it really depends on if your being active or not. It your just doing diet I think the results are going to be slower than if your doing diet and exercise....of course. Just try to stay positive and remember that it might be a long, hard road but, if you keep at it, it will be a great journey in the end. -
It's been 8 months since i got my lab band. Dec 16th. How is everyone doing/?? I think that I could be doing better. I have only lost a total of 30 pounds and gain back 4 last month. I am just feeling like need more in my band. I just got filled yesterday. I now have 6cc in my band. But, I do have a larger band. I know that the last 6 months I have had a lot going on and have been a little stressed so I am contributing my lack of weight loss to that. I know I should have any excuses but, it was alot going on. i started a new position at my job, I have been studying for a certification test, and dealing with buying and moving into a new home. That alone was a big ball of stress. So, as I sit here writing this on my 8 month anniversary. I have decided that I am going to kick my butt back in to gear and plan on getting everything back on track. So, at my 1 year anniversary in December I can have something to be proud of.

enjoylifediana replied to getting in shape's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just had my third fill yesterday. My doc is very persistant about the liquids for two days. It helps your stomach adjust. He also said that your stomach will become swallon. He suggested cool liquds and to easy back into foods. Like soft foods first. . I am looking forward to seeing if this fill put me in the green zone. if not I think I am very close. -
Has Anyone With Pcos Gotten Pregnant After Lapband?
enjoylifediana replied to newskinnygal's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Thsi really gives me hope. I have PCOS and have been ttc since 1999 off and on. We did the whole infertility treatment with no success for about five years and $60,000 bucks. So, we took a treatment break. We are always trying. LOL My doctor (OB) just kept saying lose weight, lose weight. Well, easy said. Especially coming from someone the size of a toothpick. Anyway, I am at the point of accepting that if it happens it happens. Having my lapband is mainly for me to be healthy but, if it happens to help with getting pregnant....that would be AWESOME!! Just hearing your guys stories has brought a little hope to me. thanks I need it -
Time To Start Over - Looking For Non-Judgemental Help
enjoylifediana replied to rktaurus71's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally feel the same way. I feel like I have let myself down. I know that all of it is at the fault of myself. I had lost my site on the prize. I had a extreame case of the lazy's. So...i was using the apps and eating right and then...laziness, stress, and change came to visit. I started a new position at work, I was studying for a certification exam and moving all the last six months. So...now I am strapping my boots back on and getting back to work. I just downloaded the myfitnesspal app. i will give it a try. I was using my lose it app. I love that one so I might just use both and see which one I like best. Anyway, I think that you just can't beat yourself up. You have to learn from it and move on. Learn, and improve. So, that is what I am doing learning and improving. Keep positive!!! -
I go in for my 3rd fill tomorrow. I can't wait. i feel like this might be the one that puts where I need to be. I have not been doing to well. i have only lost about 25 to 30 lbs since December when I got my band. I was hoping to be at about 50 by now. Don't get me wrong...the band has been doing a good job. It's me that is not been doing so well. Laziness has been my problem. Laziness and stress. I had started a new positon at work, studying for a certification exam and moving all in the last six months. Those are all just excused though. I could of done so much better. I am just trying not to beat myself up and move on. Move on to just doing better. So, this fill he will probably just do 1cc and i think that will put me at either 6 or 7 cc. I have a larger band though. I might see if he will do 1.5 cc. I feel like that might do the trick. I just feel like I am close to the green zone. I get full faster but, there are times that I feel like I am eating way to much. I want to get to where I notice a big difference. Anyway, enough rambling. I am happy to be back on the board too. I have been slacking on visiting. I think that the support I get from here will really help me get in the right zone. Can't wait till tomorrow. Just to see how it goes. Best wishes everyone!!!

I am almost at my six month mark and really feel like I could be doing better. I really need to get back to the doctor and get another fill. I need to also get back into my routine of walking and the gym. I really think I should have more in my band by now. I feel that my doctor could put more in when I get filled. So, I think it is just a slow process for me. Anyway, It is glad to know that there is local people on here to talk to. Hope everyone is going great and stay positive!!!! -

Hi!! Welcome to the lap band boards. I am in the dayton area too. I had my surgery on December 16th. I see you should be recovering about now since it says your surgery is on the 25th of April. I hope all is well. If you need advice or help this board is a great place. Just try not to compare yourself to others toooooo much. Would love to hear how you are doing after your surgery. Best wishes, Diana -
Mmmmm....I never heard of the fitbit and now I am going to have to look into it. I think I might want one too.

If your incisions are healed up you should be fine. Even if it is healed up I would clean it really well after getting done in the pool, hot tub, steamroom, or sauna. Better to be safe.

I was a huge diet coke drinker before my band. I gave it up with my pre op diet. It was hard the first three days but I don't really miss it. I have tried to drink it and only had a few sips. I had some diet Dr. Pepper. It was tooo sweet. I could only drink like two sips. I feel like it is just healthier to not drink it. I am sure some once in awhile it will be fine.

I have been banded for a month now. I am only doing walking. I am wanting to get an idea of how others do their workouts. Like how many times a week, and how long?? What do you do?? Weights, cardo, walking, biking, treadmill or what??? I know everyone is different but, I want to get ideas to make sure I make the best out of all my workouts.

How Many Cc's In Your Band???
enjoylifediana replied to Origflyboy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I go tomorrow for my first fill and anxious to see how much my doc fills it. I am not sure what his normal procedure is. I am hoping that I feel at least a little restriction. Haven't had any problems at all with my band so far. Got my fingers crossed for my appointment tomorrow. This post was a great help in giving me an idea of what to expect tomorrow. -
Anyone try Full Bar shakes??? i just got them on clearance at Meijer the other day. I got the chocolate silk. It was pretty yummy. I drink either the adkins shakes or meijer brand slim fast for my Breakfast on the way to work. I am thinking I might be switching to Full Bar. 15g Protein 120 calories 3g fat 12g carbs I think they are about 6 to 8 bucks regular price. I got it on clearance for 3 bucks...Great deal and they were really yummy.

Unrealistic Weight Goal ??
enjoylifediana replied to pink dahlia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had this problem too...When I first went to my doctor he asked me what weight I wanted to get to. I said I would love to get to 160 one day but, for now I want to set a goal of 200. He said Why? I said because 160 seems unbelieveable. He said to set my ultimate goal and then a have small goals before reaching the ultmate goal. That way i feel like I am accomplishing a goal. So..right now my goal is to lose 40 pounds. then we will go from there. Slow and steady is what I like about lap band. i look forward to the day when I can say " you haven't seen me skinny" -
I think I wore jeans the next day. I just made sure that they were a little loose around the waist and wouldn't rub my incision. I only have one pair of sweats and the rest are scrub bottoms and jeans. I must say the first couple of days the scrub pants were more comfy.

Eating More Than I Thought After Lap Band Surgery
enjoylifediana replied to itray's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Totally feel the same. I feel like I am eating to much. Even though I have been tracking my calories and intake and still at or below 1100 calories. I am not losing and not gaining so that is a good thing. That is what my doctor told me what would happen. That the first couple weeks after surgery I would lose and then it would slow down. Which is exactly what happen. I am getting my first fill next week and look forward to having more rescriction. -

What Is Your Workout Routine???
enjoylifediana replied to enjoylifediana's topic in Fitness & Exercise
LOL Glenn Miller.... That is how I am when i get to jammin on the treadmill. It's just me and the music that I am jammin to. Usually Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, and some Zepplin in there too. I have a ton of music just need to make me a couple new playlist. Grinder- You need to find you a workout buddy...or maybe reward yourself for workouts. I am starting a workout jar. For everywork out completed I am going to put a dollar in a jar. Then after six months I am going to buy myself something with the money. -
What Is Your Workout Routine???
enjoylifediana replied to enjoylifediana's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Thanks everyone!!! B-52 I love that you do a "steady" state with Steve Miller That is exactly what I need. I have a playlist that I call "pump it up" it is for my cardio and a faster pace on the elipitcal and bike. I need to make a "steady" playlist. I sometimes get bored it I just do the samething over and over so I want to change it up each day and keep it interesting. I ususally do water aerobics on Saturday or Sunday when my mom goes to the gym. It's our workout hang out time. I just got to figure out when to go before or after work. -
How Soon To Start Back Exercise??
enjoylifediana replied to Annamarie87's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have been walking but, that is about it. I am at 1 month now. Unfortunately I hurt my lower back last week. It really made me upset because I feel like it is putting me behind in my workout routine. I know I have to take an easy with my back and not rush it. The walking is helping but, I want to do a little more. I know that in time it will get better.
