  1. Really like to read up on veteran bandsters. We are all coming to this site to discuss our differences AND similarities...my band has been a successful tool. But I find I have to put together the pieces of my health and weight loss.

Working out. Mostly eating right. Limiting alcohol as it seems add calories ... Ok sometimes SO worth it after a long week.

My biggest issue is I cannot seem to eat in the AM. Protein Drink or bar seems about it. My band just seems so tight till the afternoon .( Still working on this issue seven years out. Still learning. )With this forums help I hear about others too. Thank you to all

  2. I am a huge fan of the show! However' date=' I do wonder how many people keep the weight off. What they do is so incredibly intense. I mean, 9 hours of working out a day. Who can keep up anything close to that when they home to family and jobs???? I know they showed one man who gained the weight back, can't remember his name. I do find the show totally engrossing thought. Watching their struggles and triumphs is motivating.[/quote']

Why don't they do follow ups? I think they would do a lot if people were successful years later. Personally. We all know how hard it is to KEEP weight off. I'm sure they have difficulties also

  3. I've been watching faithfully the last 3 seasons and I watched a few here and there years ago.

There are two celebrities the weight lifter girl and Ruben. So I'm not sure' date=' lol.

As far as their weight loss I'm sure that they are being monitored like crazy with the on site doctor and all 3 of the trainers are highly talented and know what they're doing.

I saw an interview with a past contestant that said they worked out for like 9 hours a day. That's insane and explains the 38lbs.... And the first week is a lot of Water weight too I'm sure, Lol.[/quote']

I read too that it is often 10+ days inbetween weigh ins. But Still! Between Water and 8 hr work outs and no salt. Those are great numbers. I enjoy the show and how people's head change when they get in the groove. It looks hard ????

  4. Just realized this one today!!! I haven't laid down to zip my jeans' date=' in forever. Even after washing them. After I do laundry, I keep expecting them not to fit, and it continues to amaze me, the do!!! :) Yay[/quote']

Love those nsv. Me too! It's great to wear jeans out of the dryer. And I laughed cause its been a long while since i had to lie down to zip

  5. Hello! I've been banded for almost 4 1/2 years now with no complications.

That's not to say that my port doesn't rub me the wrong way now that there is not a whole lot of fat to cushion it anymore! I still have moments when I have to vomit. It's still a lot of hard work and struggles at times' date=' but I have had a smooth ride with my band.[/quote']

I totally agree. Hard work. Diligence. But it works. I was so tired of failing. Little weight off. Back on. Repeat. Gotta lose the food about once a week. Sometimes I just don't go slow enough. Or herbs stick also. Still very pleased

  6. Your life is gonna be what you make it. Do what kick starts you. Go to a dr. Pay for a series of exercise classes. Go a vegetarian cooking class. Whatever helps YOU. No one else can really make those decisions for you. Happy you have the band already. Recommit to it?? Best of luck

Ps. Lots of us have veered off track Gotta get back on hopefully !
