Boob pressing on incision - anyone else have this?
Julie norton replied to aviva1979's topic in The Gals' Room
I think I need bras. The "girls" just aren't as perky as I'd like them to be. Gotta lift em up a bit. Some bras do hurt my port tho -
It's the little things
Julie norton replied to Erin1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. That word normal again. Whatever that is to each of us. Just didn't want to continue to fight xxl for me. Wanted to be comfortable no matter what the circumstance. Some people want size 6. Some of us are happy at size 12. Depends what your view if normal is! Good luck -

I also have a port where my bra touches and it gets sore. Even after years. Other places for ports may be better? Anyone have ports not under your boobs? Do tell -
Me too. Couldn't agree more.

Is Sliming Harmful?
Julie norton replied to PrettyThick1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My solution when I'm going thru a tough spell of sometimes accepting/ sometimes not. A Baggie can be helpful in the car. Not a tissue. Truly. Just my humble suggestion after almost 7 years. Wish I could know what sets mine off. I just know it takes a good day or two to relax -
Regarding flying. It does seem to irritate my band. I hydrate and all but I have to be very gentle for the first day or so. I have good luck with protein bars I order off the Internet. they don't "stick". I try for at least 15 grams of protein per bar. Around 150- 180 calories. Gotta find what works for you

Liz I think of this as a marathon. Not a sprint. Have Long term faith and keep on eating well and doing what you can to move your body. Best of luck!

Diet Pepsi/ carbonated drinks
Julie norton replied to Sapphirejewel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I try to not have diet sodas. I'm just not sure they have any redeeming value. I used to really like them pre op. trying to do better for my old body. Vodka cranberry. Now that I can do occasionally -
Isn't it amazing you can feel better when you are older? 40-50 were much better than lousy period of bad weight and bad husband of 30's. so happy ❤???‰

If you chose NOT to tell about your LB, share your story please
Julie norton replied to PuraVida37's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree that people don't pay much attention to what YOU eat. So long as you don't advertise your food ,surgery, weight loss etc. you would be surprised. I kept saying. I work out a lot (true) I'm really trying. (Almost always true) my stomach is fussy (really true). Often not saying anything was best -
Tofu. Hard boiled eggs. Jerky. Yogurt. Protein bars. Cottage cheese. String cheese. Almost 7 years and those are my Go to foods. Best of luck. Keep us updated❤???´

Go for it with the wax. I think anything you can do to give to yourself is a treat.

To tell or not to tell...

To tell or not to tell...
Julie norton replied to skb123's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is personal to tell or not. Isn't it? People do notice if you have lost a considerable amount. Sometimes I Reply "I had a lot of help". Most don't query further. Close friends know. I've stayed close to the same weight range for over 6 yrs so I don't feel needy about discussing it. I think that happens more at the beginning of the journey -

Congrats. Seems like the world is made for 100-199 lb people often doesn't it. ? I know it helped my head to feel that weight. And made moving around in this world easier

I think a good bra is super important. A little "lift"for the big girls helps Hard to set time aside to try on many tho And panties that's match What a bonus❤
