Getting close to goal weight! Any advice on corrective surgeries? (Mommy makeover?)
Julie norton replied to MrsPJ's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
kW. I had some work done .. TT / paniculy about 11 weeks ago. Have had a bit of experience also. I say go for it! Soo happy that 8 lbs. (yes eight) of belly fat is gone. Haven't seen my stomach this flat since high school ! Consultations can be free or deducted from surgery depending on office procedure. I felt like I was taking good care of myself for doing some tune up work each time. Sixty is easier than 50 for me. Good luck on your decisions. Many others have experience too on these boards. -
Maybe add a high protein bar? I look go 20+ grams of protein for the least amount of calories. I like quest bars the best. Protein soup packets? Some jerky if tolerable? Cottage cheese? Hard boiled eggs? Chicken salad? Just throwing out a few things that have been good for me and some others. Good luck. There is some good info on this board . I do know about lapband and not with sleeve so sorry if this is not workable for you.

Thought it would be lovely to see a positive , happy post about how good bands CAN work. I am happy and healthy and wouldn't trade it for anything. Hope other banders will chime in on a great tool. Just for this forum, could we request no horror stories or revisions? I would so appreciate that... Hoping others will also. Thank you in advance ????

Tried this today with some broccoli and thought it was decent. Protein rich. Swells up to a spaghetti size. Decent flavor. Another option w/ protein!

who here has been banded for at least 2 years and has had NO complications?
Julie norton replied to Lapbandster's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Some of us old bandsters are still around. We hide at times bc we have been through a lot of questions and answers in my opinion... ???????? my band. This year will be 9 years. I'm am compliant. And I do have liquid days ( thanks B-52) that help ... But very occasionally Happy and healthy. With a TT thrown in this year which helped me to lose my last 10 lbs I was aiming for... But willing to concede if needed. -
What a wonderful feeling... Not dreading going to a formal event and looking forward! to it. And got the dress!!! Good for you! I felt like I hit the lotto when I found the dress and shoes to wear to my sons wedding in a couple of weeks Got it altered ( after TT) and so ready to wear a fitted garment!! Feels good to FEEL GOOD????

Keeping your Plastic Surgery a secret
Julie norton replied to ItsMe2033's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I was a bit private about my plastics. I only told my trainer and very close friends. One whom took Me to surgery and 2 people who helped out after. Many friends know about my sons wedding in 2 weeks ( yikes) and I tell them I am working out a lot. ????True. And watching everything I eat right now... Lots of chicken thighs and veges .. Also true. Professional pictures have that effect on me .... Guessing there will be a lot Taken that day. ????so let's keep dancing, break out the booze ...and have a ball. ( old song for you youngsters) -

Salsa with Eggs - 12 hours later?
Julie norton replied to TealSister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My band has clearly shut the door on salsa, onions(raw), bread, tomatoes and Chinese food... Took me years to finally say I won't try those again. Or later. I cannot figure out the Chinese food restriction... So I just say: Ok band. We are doing things your way... -
Sorry Liz, That is a tough position to be in. Like the others, I would NOT have reacted well had my brother wanted to " talk" about my former size. Sigh. Guess it is true we can truly only be our own guide.... I think it may be that we know how WE feel pre and post op. No advice... But glad we are here to listen.... More than one member has mentioned you could write an article as you are eloquent ????

I miss this forum... Happy moms day ❤️????to any and all... Looking forward to seeing the grown "kids" tomorrow. Are they still called kids when they have been out of the house for years? That's what my mom did.. So I will as well to honor her... (Gone 11 years next week) I asked for nothing but a heartfelt homemade card????

Are you one of these people ?
Julie norton replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
boy... Just when some of us real-long-timers think we got this covered....along comes a hungry couple of days? Generally. ...Back to regular normal pattern, but it does take me by surprise on occasion...don't see rhyme or reason. ie. stress, imbibing, Etc. Just more hungry for a few days. Don't know if I'm the only one who feels this sparingly? -
I would like to hoist up the girls.. Soon. ...Without implants... My concern is my port 2" down in the middle... Any one have breast surgery w/ mid- port? I was concerned w/ TT/ plication but surgeon said he saw my port ... So perhaps this is done more than I know.... Which is nothing about breast lifts..
