How LITTLE saline can be removed from band?
Julie norton replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a tricky dance we do with fills/unfills. Trying to get it just right. Unfills seem to be hardest for my body to adjust; .25 is also the smallest I've had removed. Let us know how your satiety level works out. [emoji486] -
That is a great observation how I used to internalize situations also.

VET'S FORUM. What the %^&* is going on around here?
Julie norton replied to LipstickLady's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm really liking this for some odd reason. Magic indeed! That old protein, water and exercise magic.... Repeat for years.... Magic![emoji326][emoji326][emoji436][emoji436] -
What has been the hardest part of your journey thus far?
Julie norton replied to xoxococojay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
KEEPING the weight off is the biggest prize of all for me. Ya. I could lose it, but not having it stay gone was very frustrating and hard for me[emoji486] Thank goodness I heard about WLS, took a chance, and it has helped my life in many ways. Best of luck to all of us. It doesn't get easier, but I get more compliant. Ps the hardest habit for me was not drinking water with and after meals... And not snacking mindlessly as I was prone to do -
5 Days Post Op and feeling Regretful
Julie norton replied to momto3E's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My take on this is to not overthink your surgery decision. In 6 months, you may want to revisit your thoughts and see where you are. Keep working your program, and it truly does work. Remember why you had this operation, and you can change the course of your life!! There are not many times in life you can say that!![emoji486] -
I HAVE NO FRIENDS! (Sad face!)
Julie norton replied to Diva Taunia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Kinda fun place to see what others have for challenges. (Flying is hard on my band and getting a fill is tough.... ) And if I go too far, the irritation is not pleasant. It makes me comply....I gave up on fighting her years ago. I'm not perfect... Who is?And if I forget for a minute to eat slowly and chew ever so well... It is bad news.. So everyday, like most of us , I try my best. -
These are fascinating tidbits of life. The things we did not know! WLS .. Not keeping a secret of the country singer; didn't know if anyone was interested : Wynonna Judd sat down and chatted. She was funny and gracious.

Well... We all are getting to chat with each other casually Share whatever you like ... I want to know something.... Whatever you choose !!

We are all standing silently behind you as you calmly and maturely proceed through HIS issues. On the bright side, so glad you are away from such a manipulating man...soon I hope this is in your rear view mirror . There is a lot ahead .

Second thoughts, op next week :(
Julie norton replied to lisaloop123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
WLS success requires a different way of thinking and living. It can be life changing if you allow it to be. You HAVE to work with it and it sounds like you may have to sort some things out in your head before you proceed. I have worked with a counselor after my surgery years ago and found it a luxury and really helpful. Best of luck for a healthy future, whatever you decide. -
Thanks for typing what I was thinking.... I'll add in. How much did you lose by X? I get it... Those are things people really want to know about the future and being overweight. Just repetitive questions. It is a new world for the overweight population.... (Primarily females )to finally change a part of life that is very hard to conquer without huge changes and surgery. Thank goodness there are a lot of posters who will answer many questions over and again. This site has some great info ( along with some fallacy) for those looking for answers.

Why is everyone converting from band to sleeve?
Julie norton replied to futureskinnybtch's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ps. Not everyone. Some of us long term bandsters are a bit quieter. I'm coming up on 10 years. Our esteemed founder, Alex is headed for 11 or 12. There are people with band problems. Best of luck. Keep working the program and have faith! -
Some of us adore our bands and have had them for years. Others have problems with it. My experience tells me. Just me. !That I need to keep it a bit under inflated Or it gets angry. Then I must rest it before beginning again. I am doing well after 9 1/2 years And hope to keep all the same. Lost about 100 lbs from my highest ever. Best of luck. This is a nice place to ask questions. Mostly.... Please don't ask about cheating the band or you will get an earful!!!

Julie norton replied to LittleLizzieLilliput's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

What Do You Find Most Freeing About WLS?
Julie norton replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That food does not have much priority in my life. The first few years I had to work harder on food.... I still have to be prepared and conscious..... But I can be hungry for awhile at appropriate times... What a freeing feeling Just living life, for years, at a "normal" size is so wonderful. I am thankful. -
[emoji171]to you sharpie....tough day. Glad you had a wonderful trip! Hoping Liz' kind words are helpful... She has helped me in the past ... Our veterans are the most helpful on this long journey. Happy to read my cyber friends' thoughtful words (WLS and widowhood) Thank you all.

May this be just the beginning of a great, fun life change for you. Please keep posting. I like to see progress in working with the band... Ps. My take on this: Don't fight it. Just relax and go with your dr.'s program and wonderful things happen[emoji471]

My Five Year Banniversary!
Julie norton replied to electronicart's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I adore hearing successful stories from lapband vets. There are still many of us, but many others do not have success. Lots of stories; glad to hear good ones! December will mark my ten year anniversary and I continue to be thankful for getting off the diet roller coaster [emoji567][emoji567] Congratulations on your 5 years!! -
I got to go see buffalo Springfield ( youngsters might have to google it) at a local junior college in 1967. I remember I wore an A line skirt I made in 4-H.. I am showing my age!
