I feel so guilty
Julie norton replied to miller1109's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
There are some of us further out. It is still work I think. For me! I encourage all of us to think of why we are here !!! Ok. More water and exercise for me today. All I can do is keep trying everyday to make good choices to support my lifestyle. Trying to put together a week of good choices.... all I know is to keep trying. I will not go back to 272 lbs... ever ... I will keep trying... sigh -
Interesting. And Following ....sometimes I'm not sure I want to know all

Liquid diet - weight loss.
Julie norton replied to evagria_the_faithful's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My take is not only does the liquid diet help your body for surgery... it helps some of us see how much time and energy went to keeping us full! This can be a lifestyle change if you let it. Some of us need to be shocked into changing our lives... and it is hard work!! -
NEWBIE NEEDS SUPPORT....
Julie norton replied to Rosemary McKinney Wenig's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My take is the swelling from a fill can take a day or two to settle. Please don't irritate it.... mine takes days to settle down. Yogurt and soups seem to help. Good luck. Please update when possible ! -
Will some people in this group please update how life is treating you? This is a long road..... and it is helpful to have a few that know how the years go on. Spring is here ...liking the weather and flowers starting. Not liking the 5 lbs that dropped by....

For Vets who Gained after Goal, then lost it...HOW did you lose it?
Julie norton replied to mi75's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
It is a daily and weekly pattern of behavior that I strive for. Never perfect, but I'll take this life over my old one everyday. -

I am on the site. I do not see any info on my profile. Do I have one? Anymore? -
There seems to be a new "set point ". Hard for me to get much lower. No fad diets. Tried too many times. Just sensible eating and water and some work outs and walking. Works for many. Hopeful

help, am i doing the right thing?
Julie norton replied to bv33's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My takes if you can lose your weight and KEEP it off, then you would have done it and have no need for Wls. You really need to want to change your patterns of behavior for life. The surgery was my only way to go through life not fighting myself over food and weight . Only you can decide your struggle daily... and if you can do that for YEARS. Your hair will grow...I lost very little... my skin is forgiving... in my 50's. I'm not sure my knees and heart and lungs and.... could be healthy without 95 lbs gone forever 10 years ago! Good luck on your decision! -
Protein shakes giving me the runs
Julie norton replied to thebeast23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a sometime sufferer also, I do better with homemade shakes. I happen to like inspire. Whey isolate protein may be kinder to my system. The store bought ones cause me issues on occasion. -

Sick of sweet
Julie norton replied to Montana Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That seems like a lot of ingredients for 7-10 days post op. I do like my immersion blender; I am many years out... just be slow and patient. You can do this! -
My roller coaster life

Sigh. Sometimes our kooky bodies decide on a new set point.... without consulting us! -
Starting out at age 45? How common?
Julie norton replied to KS123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was 51.... some of us take longer to commit... best 10 years ever.... ok. Some yucky days with my band. But few!! Thankfully -
I believe this is a common issue. I know water/ s/f Gatorade. Or even a small amount of pedialyte mixed with water and ice... if tolerated... can give me some relief. Biotene lozenges and such can help me sometimes. My young feels like a dry parrot mouth!!!

That seems to our monumental number. Someone said " I don't remember going over 200, but I really remember ducking under". Well said. And yes, memorable!! Congratulations -
It is so hard when we can't use the soothing food as we have in the past. It seems the only way that has success in permanent loss of serious poundage is Wls. It has been years and I still want to eat anything I want some nights.... I don't ... mostly as I don't keep stuff at home that troubles me. Part of my fight is battledvat the market Best of luck!

Skipping meal plan phases
Julie norton replied to Resha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes in life, we choose to change our eating and behavior patterns.... this is an opportunity to try to change your life and health. Truly your choice. If all was great pre op, most of us would not have chosen to alter our body. perhaps try a new way and see if you are ready for a life change. Proceeding slowly to allow your body to heal is sensible. You would not walk on a broken leg because you wanted to hurry the process. It takes maturity and patience in my opinion, and I had to learn both. (Banded12/06). It took a long while to not struggle, but surrender to a new effort to change my life. That dang CONTROL thing! Best of luck. Keep posting -

I do like fair life milk. Extra protein in it. They have a low fat chocolate version that sometimes comes into my house
